Appreciate it man! I'm actually uploading my Thief Build right now. My favourite vocation I'm the game, allows me to play Dragons Dogma like it's Assassins Creed. @5:30 Correction to Ambuscade: Besides out of combat, sleeping, etc... targets NOT in battle stance include - any enemy inside thief's smoke and any target knocked down. Can some tell me if frozen targets are considered out of combat stance and take more damage as well?

I did testing on Ambuscade with freezing. Ice affinity + deluge shot. I did not notice any difference in damage when boss was frozen. If it was, it's very neglible

Absolutely an amazing combo. Just happens to be pricey cause of having to buy those arrows, as they are very rare when it comes to loot. But your idea is 💯 legit! @JLG35X oh, I know. But I can honestly say I'm not one to go around gathering materials. If u have them, great, if not, I just can't be bothered to go get them and farm them. I have now spent 3 days farming Wyrmlife Crystals. That was painful enough... LoL. Thanks for your reply though. Appreciate it 🙏

This is a dumb question but when using the abilities I haven’t found the right cadence or whatever. So you hold down L1 and then press the corresponding button for the ability. But then it seems like you have to press the button again to actually make it happen? Does that make sense?

When you are using weapon skills, you hold L2 and press Triangle, Circle, Square or X and you release L1. If you keep holding L1, the skill will not come out until you do. But if you use R1 to manually aim, and pres s one of the other 4 buttons assigned to each skill, you can still hold R1 and the ability will be performed. If you do hold both though, the ability will not be used until you release the button. It can get time ti get used to. Thanks for asking though and for supporting the channel

@mmurphy3608 when using the Archer vocation you can actually use R1 instead of L1 to manually aim at targets weakspots and get 3 times more damage per arrow. And when doing that, you do not have to hold L1 at the same time to use skills. Just hold R1 and press skill allocated button to use it. If you keep holding R1 and the designated skill button, it will not fire the arrow until you release the skill button. If you use L1, you will aim at whatever part of the enemy's body is closest to you. This means much less damage per hit. I hope I explained it better now.

I ALWAYS have an Archer in my team. Usually as one of my pawns because I love playing Thief, Magic Spearhand or Warfarer as Sorcerer/Magic Archerer myself.' My team setup is usually: Me:Thief, Spearhand or Warfarer as Sorcerer/Magic Archerer. My pawns are Archerer, Sorcerer and Mage in most situations and I only use a tank for special situations.

And that is a very good team setup. I often discard the tank too, especially now that we are high level. The damage we take is not that significant and easily healed by my Gandalf. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and supporting the channel. Appreciate it 🙏

True. But some players might find it dangerous to go down that route as you are very exposed to being hit. At low levels, that becomes increasingly harder to do as those big monster may easily kill you. The idea of the build is to avoid being hit at all.

What about weapon upgrades dwarven or baktahli?

Overall, great video and I agree on most points! But I hard disagree with, "You're an archer, you shouldn't be too close." There is a ring in the game that specifically gives you greater damage with bows the closer you are to the target. I equip two of these and do a lot of kick-jumps and sprint-slides and my Parting Shots do crazy good damage, which does make up for doing less Steady Shots. I do want to say that this playstyle is a choice, because you can always equip rings that give more damage at any range and play more sniper style. But I love the various close ranged moves the Archer was given in DD2, so I prefer that. I do still, of course, use Deathly Arrow at longer range when trying to DPS bosses down, and also it adds quite a bit of stagger. I also use Spiral Arrow as my other main skill. It lets me be more mobile than Deathly Arrow, and hitting a target with it basically "locks down" that target, preventing them from attacking me (other than bosses, of course). It also rapidly applies elemental effects to bosses if your bow is enchanted. I'd say that the last two skills can be whatever, with the best candidates being the special arrows. A lot of people use Heavenly Shot, but I have never seen it do much better than Deathly Arrow (especially for the stamina downtime), in my own experiences. Because of that flexibility, Archer makes a really good pick for using with Warfarer. I like to run it alongside daggers to use Gut and Run/Draw and Quarter when climbing bosses, or running Pilfer/Plunder. Another thing I want to point out is the special arrow types. There is one self-combo and one combo you can do with help that are very powerful. If you hit a boss with Tarring/Incendiary Shot, they will get the "Tarred" status, obviously. And any flame will ignite that tar and cause the "Torched" status, which is MUCH more powerful than just Burning. It also causes significant knockdown. You can light up a tarred boss with Exploding/Erupting Shot, though any caster with a flame spell will probably get to it before you do. Then the other combo you can do (with help) is Frozen and... whatever the extreme version of being electrocuted is, don't remember the name. If you hit a boss with Drenching/Deluging Shot, they will be "Drenched" status. And if they get hit with a bit of cold damage, they will freeze completely solid for a bit. It also increases the damage of electrical attacks.

There's no proof that ambuscade doesn't affect enemies after combat, ie enemies in combat doesn't =/= battle stance. Your just guessing, my wager is that battle stance is not active while enemies are knocked prone.

Could be. I never said I had tested it or had proof of what I believed matched the description. But going with only the description, I came to the believe Ambuscade was not going to work for this build. It might work with other things, not sure what to make of it without proper testing. I don’t think this is a very strong build. Dude says ambuscade is a waste, but uses radiance and endurance. Endurance is only good early game when you don’t have access to much else-150 extra stamina isn’t shit when you have an over 2000 stamina later in the game.

You can never have too much stamina in this game since EVERYTHING uses stamina! From your skills to even just running through the map, you use stamina. The more you have, the better. If you disagree, that's fine. But this is my opinion. Again, Radiance, as I explained, can easily be replaced by whatever you prefer. I like to see properly in the dark, so, I have Radiance on this build. Feel free to use something else. You say the build isn't strong, but I disagree. I find it to be strong and very easy to use since you can do damage from a safe zone, away from the action. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

@@cadimagamingplace I said it’s not good, because it isn’t. Choosing endurance over exaltation is insane. 150 stamina is nothing; but stamina regen speed is a difference maker. You’re also not using subtlety… what? Why? The arisen draws aggro automatically in this game so you should be trying to mitigate that as much as possible. And why aren’t you using Detection? That’s a must have on any build. You do you. If it works for you, live your dreams. But to call this build OP invokes vivisection, homie.

@logicsirin7259 I'm very high level and I have the augment that increases stamina even further. Besides, archer was myself starting vocation which automatically gives my character a bit more stamina than those who started with other vocations. 😁 Thanks for watching the video and supporting the channel. Verve gives just 30 strength. Same with the Sorcerer variant. No one should recommend that for any build.
