@@nemesisop8903I’d agree if you meant the manga version. The anime version of OG Dragonball really does drag in some areas.

I love the detail of the bridge disappearing you can see the inside of the planet. And it looks like wood.

When you consider that DBS takes place within the peaceful 10-year gap between Goku beating Kid Buu and the end of Z where Goku flies off with Uub, it makes sense the tone is lighter with DBS. Wouldnt say it justifies how Goku is written in Super sometimes, but overall, lol. Glad you've been enjoying it!

​@@tristalia3113 Assuming this is not tongue in cheek: They went a weird direction with localizing the Vermouth name, so it helps if you understand Japanese pronunciation.

I think the reason why Whis is so mellow is because all the angels pretty much live without any consequences for the most part beyond their assignments to a destroyer. I think they’re also all immortal, which is the reason why he was in phased by what Goku did.

While I appreciate Vegeta's drive to train more even when Goku sleeps, it's counter-productive. After getting out of the time chamber, Goku brings up the importance of rest after training in the Cell Saga. He said that rest is just as important as training, if you don't rest the next time you train will just be torture(especially with the harsh conditions of the time chamber). Goku told Vegeta and the others this, but Vegeta ignored the advice and went in anyway. Vegeta did get stronger after his 2nd time in the time chamber, but his results weren't as great as the ones Goku got.

This is the episode where it shows if you want to be a god you have to train like a god hahaha

it's so interesting to watch people who essentially know the series through dbza and only the buu saga of z watch this series and its portrayal of the characters (especially goku)

Whis training through chores reminds me of the Turtle School training Goku and Krillin did as kids .

It makes sense Whis wants them to train base. Super Saiyan forms are multipliers so stronger base is a must to progress.

Here's some fun animation trivia. If you're curious about why the art style looks a little different like with how characters can make goofier expressions than they did in Z, it's due to all of the Dragon Ball animators at Toei working on One Piece for almost two decades before Dragon Ball came back with Dragon Ball Super. In fact there's an animator who had drawn so much One Piece, that he had somewhat forgotten how to draw Dragon Ball ( which is why the proportions on the face might look a little different at times.) It's not that big of a deal and hardly noticeable, but I think it's pretty interesting.

Vegeta in super is the best character in super

I think the major difference is that everyone watching Super already knows the DBZ formula. So rather than trying to trick you the world is ending again we treat more laid back. The goal is to get stronger and meet new an fun interesting people along the way.

You know i've been thinking that you two should watch the og dragon ball from 1986 like literally start with goku as a kid back then, cuz that would been an absolutely banger and awesome to watch for you two, cuz that would explain a lot about how kid goku meet chi chi for the first, roshi,krillin,bulma and others, if you two want know a lot about goku as a kid back then, i suggest to watch the og dragon ball 1986.

They won't miss much as he has barelly screen time and Vegeta just kills him like he's nothing.

Tonally, Dragon Ball Super is more like OG Dragon Ball than either DBZ or DBGT.

I know Goku sounds annoying when he complains he has to pee during the trip, it's just hella relatable at least to me. When I moved to the States I experienced long car rides for the first time and didn't pay attention to how much drank and it was torture! I didn't even care if there were any nearby rest stops, would just be happy to pull up near a forest or anywhere where there weren't any people. Luckily I got it under control.
