The only choice of character customization om past Fable games was if you were a male or female. The fat and evil were part of the gameplay. That said, I will be watching someone else play it, before I even think about buying it.

Unless people die off or something happens to our technology level it is IMPOSSIBLE for the gaming industry to crash... your 'worst' case scenario is the huge majority of AAA companies going under which is going to be a total 100% win for the consumer. There are simply way too many indie developers to keep the gaming industry going at this point and lets be honest... the majority of good games in the last 2-3 years came from small developers NOT from AAA game developers. I will go even one step further and say that if you count the successes and failures of the AAA industry the failures will be more and not by 1-2 games.

@@mightymushroom4980 Paid mods are official and tested. That's why they are paid. Free ones are at your own risk. As time goes on we will know which free ones are good and which is bad. It takes time to build up user reviews.

Instead of paying $10 on a quest, spend it on an indy game, that way there's a little more funding towards making games and a little less funding towards stock holders, which will translate into more future games and less attempts to make stockholders more money than they did last quarter.

It's available on every game, it started with Warzone Verdansk/MW2019, it's an option which you can turn on and off, it doesn't actually add any latency to the player, the server however still streams it in even if the player has it turned off, server performance will remain poor no matter what

@@funtourhawk it's not one game, it's actually counting the entire lot that's in CoDHQ, the game when released will only be 80GB but right now CoDHQ is 229GB of storage currently unless you decide to uninstall the games and parts you don't use like Warzone, DMZ etc, yes texture streaming from servers is not as good as actually having it on your own system but they do it to save space on console, plus there is also memory restraints on console which means textures will have to be done over servers so they can utilise the memory in other ways

Even if it wasn’t profitable the small studio couldn’t have been eating up that many resources when accounting their earnings in with their cost. A critically acclaimed and well respected game, makes them a well respected studio. Their next thing would have punched higher and if that did well their next thing would have punched higher and so on. They wanted to make Hi Fi rush 2. There are plenty of games that didn’t really take off big until there was a 2 at the end of their title. Ratchet and clank 2. Helldivers 2 is the easiest most recent example. Star Wars battlefront 2 was infinitely more popular than the first one as well. The original Modern warfare 2. Destroy all humans 2. There’s so many examples to pull out that I could list em off all day, fromsoft was always occupying a small niche but their continued work eventually produced Elden ring. They had a goose, with as decent odds as you could ask for to lay a golden egg, and they slaughtered it cause throwing it some feed every now and then was too much trouble.

Dragon Age having a character named Trash speaks volumes.

Bugthesda, Bugthesda never changes.

Oh no you don't understand! The game play will be 800% value because when you have to stram all the textuteres in 4 - 8k you'll the biggest load times ever, and players absolute LOVE sitting there, every 5 minutes, waiting for 5 - 10min for all the assets to get downloaded, and since they aren't stored locally for the "saved storage", you get to do that every time!!!!! AMAZING!!! Think about Starfield, but for every load screen, add several minutes extra! That or they are just lying, but surely they would not lie, that's so naughty.

So continuous texture streaming in regards to CoD is server based, you can turn off the texture streaming in each game which results in a muddy 1080p res on each texture with draw distance for textures scaled back, the storage space for the game won't be 300+GB, it's currently counting MW2, MW3, Warzone, DMZ, once it gets nearer the time we'll find out the actual size which is about 80GB since currently its 229GB for the HQ app

That Dragon Age reveal was so shit it was marketed as a children's cartoon it was like a Nickelodeon show commercial, either the game is so shit that the marketing team didn't have anything to work with or that marketing team needs to be canned.

Seeing the announcement trailer, the only thing I could do was shrug. Bethesda doesn't understand that they need to do other, more fundamental things to create positivity around Starfield. My thing is that the game will be dead on arrival. Not from being woke but prequels never do well. Unless they change the timeline (alternative timeline), all the players will know what will happen in the end and their won't be any stakes involved. We know both characters survive and that the human race survives. The other thing is that I'm done with fighting locus. Unless they give more variety to unit rooster it will be boring to fight the same enemies AGAIN.

As someone who's a fan of the Dragon Age series, it's pretty depressing seeing so many of my favourite franchises go down the shitter. Like now, I gotta find a new franchise that is as close to Dragon Age as possible. Same for for games like Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Sims, Saints Row, Legend of Zelda, Pokemon.. etc. the treatment AAA gaming companies give to their once good games is downright vile. They gained too big of an ego and decided that they don't need to keep making quality games to keep their business going.

They'd also need to rid off Emil, you know the "keep it simple and stupid" -guy, and whoever was responsible for the kid in the fridge quest, and whoeverr wrote the railroad, and whoever wrote the institute plot line... in fact, every creative and narrative director and designer needs to go. I.e. you'd be better off just shutting the studio down, and giving the IPs no a new studio.

Microsoft is majorly hands off all they offer is marketing and funds and get pieces of the pie from their sales, its the management inside Bethesda sadly. The only times I've read about Microsoft going hands on is when studios are doing really shit like the studio that made redfall I believe was solely looked into but I doubt they care about messing with bgs because of how much money they make without hands on from them.

My unpopular opinion. Oblivion was so much of a graphical upgrade that we all missed that it was stripped down to a skeleton of what Morrowind was.

It's fact, not opinion. Played Daggerfall shareware/demo long time ago... or Arean? Anyways, does not mater... Missed on 3rd and 4th Elder Scrolls. Play Skyrim, after second or third time save corruption... gone and play Oblivion for first time... older game, graphics and some other general stuff, usability bit dated ofc, but a lot of stuff (quest, writing, general world building) samy and somehow better. Then gone and play Morrowind for fist time... graphics looks date compare to Oblivion, janky in places as many early 00s expansive 3D games, no surprises here, but... somehow... a lot stuff even better... Just my unpopular opinion.

If you think $7 for a quest is bad, look at what they're charging for cosmetics in Diablo 4. These days, the game itself is just a 'loss leader' to drag people in to spending money in their online stores. It started with games having shops stuck on to them, now we have shops with a bit of a game stuck in front of it.

Continuous texture streaming is necessary so we can continuously stream textures to your device, it also takes up less space because it’s not happening on your device. That has to take the record for the most corporate response.

​@@trippybruh1592because the textures that come with the game are compressed 1080p res, they look awful up close so they put the 4K uncompressed textures within the servers so people can choose if they want them, uncompressed 4K textures would actually ramp the game up to well over 800GB since each building has a slightly different texture, it's crazy but it's in every game since Verdansk/MW2019, people can turn it off however

Honestly Dragon Age looks about what you would expect given what is in control of the industry now days. Everything from Execs that think everything needs to be Fortnight(it was WoW back in the day) to all the weirdos that see Overwatch 2 as correcting everything that was misogynistic about Overwatch 1. Given the state of games the only thing that would have been surprising about a new DA would have been it being a good game.

Seeing Dragon Age veilslop was... jarring, to say the least. Bioware is dead, and EA killed it.

If Ubisoft has to lean on the Sith or Jedi to tell a good story or keep their gamers engaged the game wasn’t good enough to stand on its own in the first place.

Cod 2019 was built to let you install Warzone, THEN install the multiplayer and campaigns optionally. The fact that Cod 2024 will not allow you to install just your gametype(s) of choice is baffling. They could have removed the Warzone requirement and let you only install Multiplayer, or only install Campaign. Or only install Zombies. Everybody would win.

Dragon age origins is still one of my favourite RPGS of all time. it’s a shame that the series has gotten to the point were you could say that was a trailer for some random live service generic af trash and i’d believe it .

The Shattered Space DLC had nothing that attracted me. I am not buying this DLC. I would rather have them announce a redoing of the existing planetary bases, to create much more diversity. I would pay for that. I really would.

Mecha Break, Perfect Dark, Doom: The Dark Ages all looked great. Might have seen one or two other titles I saw that I forgot the names of already that i might go check out. Saw a couple of obvious nonce cash grabs. DEI didn't look to affect Doom, Perfect Dark or Mecha Break at all from what I saw.

Did you see that Silent Hill botch job they did for the remake or whatever it was supposed to be? That is an example of something I consider 'egregious,' as I'm sure you would too by your reply. As for the Perfect Dark trailer, they definitely chose a weird shot angle I hope it's not actually that bad. But it wouldn't surprise me if it was actually just the model they chose to use lol. Nice one though that did make me laugh. I could take like a pen tool and round the face by a marginal amount and it would instantly look like tons of different women in reality. I'm unironically not even sure what the benefit of making the model that way is? I understand that they like to use the "oh average women need depiction too" argument, but I'm pretty sure average women don't look like their name is Brock, last time I checked. So idk. I more so meant gameplay/narrative wise it looked to be alright, but the model is a little suspect for sure.

Man I was feeling like "ok time to catch up on my backlog of games. Not much to look forward to." - now I'm like "holy fuck time to give up on my backlog, thats never gonna happen."

Not committing to release dates is obvious when you consider that the budget allocation is based on projections. And projections start from the date something is released. This is part of the budgeting and economic aspects. It also allows wiggle room in case quality issues are found. This is a truism in the software world in general: don't tie yourself to dates; tie yourself to being feature ready and thus production ready. When the projections demand a window, that's when you see an actual date (or at least an actual month).

Just. Don't. Buy. It.

Perfect Dark really got the crimson chin protagonist treatment.

I think you are being far too kind. Muti-million dollar studios that can not make a game with a woman that even looks female. None of this excited me, I think that we will have to wait for many of these studios to die off before something that does not suck can emerge.

After all the negativity GOW 5 left with the fans, this was a pleasant surprise

this 309 GB is also not BO6's file size, its the size of all COD HQ games downloaded together. So texture streaming is not actually needed.

It’s a good thing that we’re not getting release dates. Puts the pressure off the developers and if a game needs a delay then let it get delayed. It’s either this, release a game that’s not ready, or put crunch time and 100 hours weeks on the developers which people always complain about.

The sense I get from Starfield players is that they feel like they're still owed half a game so having to spend even more money is laughable.

Starfield paid DLC doesn’t really surprise me since fallout 4 had it and 76 was trying to charge people for modded servers
