Great video, really cool old stuff. Seeing the True Grit Camaro in it's early days was great too!

I wish uncle kim was still with us. I would have loved to know him and see bad company in action.

I raced against him 1 time I recalled in the Final Round at Keokuk. He beat me cutting a better light. I had a 55 Chevy and we both ran about the same times. Kim was a dedicated and good Racer...

Thanks for posting this. The car I was glad to see is the "All American Turkey" Camaro. I'm not sure if he owned it then, but at one time Joe Gower owned that car and was a friend of my brothers. My brother Mark went to Keokuk in the 70's a lot of times and I am glad that I could see some footage from those days.

The All American Turkey Camaro was originally slated for the late Dickie Harrell to Race sponsored Fred Gibb Chevrolet Dealer from La Harpe IL. Dickie Harrell was killed in the Fall of 71 at Ontario Raceway when a front tire blew out on his Chevy Funny Car. Joe Gower later bought it and painted it calling it the All American Turkey. Joe destroyed the Alum 427 ZL1 engine in the car the second weekend he raced it. I gave him pistons and rods from my 427 engine out of my 67 Chevelle to help him get the car back on the track the following week...
