This video seems hella sketchy . I raced my friends x4m with my 392 charger off the roll and I have videos of me putting 2-3 cars on him. And I have raced trackhawks it’s not even close . They get atleast 1-2 cars on me even on 60 rolls. I didn’t even try dig.

How did the BMW win? Power to weight ratio, 500 KG is a lot

Putting 2 vehicles next to each other is fine, it's the level of BMW fanboi's using this to declare their expensive german lighter weight tall sedans are faster than heavy proper SUV's... :)

I agree the x4m is very impressive. I’m a BMW fan boy btw, I’ve driven the x4m as well and I own a cayenne turbo. However, the x3m and x4m performance are VERY similar. Try racing a track hawk when you get a chance and please do us a favor and post that race. This video is FALSE. His would also mean the x4m can almost catch an urus? 🤨

I have a Trackhawk and have driven the X4 M. Couple of things to consider. Power to weight ratio, and understanding the launch control system. The launch system is configurable.. dropping the rpm would of been the better option. I consistently get 3.4sec 0-60. Nonetheless, the BMW is a great car

Americans think engine size is everything, not taking into account aerodynamics, suspension, weight. Surely a 6.2 V8 isn't good for the weight of that car, the coupe shape and the spoiler reduced drag too I would assume.

Dean Grimsell I didn’t say anything about bad engineering, I’m simply just shocked at how the BMW was hanging with the Trackhawk considering the difference in power. And also the fact the the X4M isn’t even BMW’s model which would be a competitor for the Trackhawk. The likes of the X5M and X6M are seen as competitors for the Trackhawk, so the fact that this X4 is this quick simply amazes me. It’s that simple 🙏🏼

@@abenefeldt Its normal, not all that impressive. Thats just how progression looks like. The Jeep is using an antique engine and very old platform, the BMW isn't, its as simple as that. Use this in another comparison within BMW even. Put this X4M up against a first generation X5M, which came out around the same time this generation of Jeep did. And see what happens. If Jeep were to redesign this SUV right now, it would be a different story. Remember weight goes up considerably with BMWs bigger SUVs aswell.

First study the systems of the Trackhawk properly then you will realise that you can actually set the launch level. Wouldn't get too excited for the X4. The engineering that has gone into the Trackhawk is mind blowing. If you do not know how it works, then anything can be faster, or almost as fast. Trust me, I sell them and drive them.

I agree 100%. Driver poor knowledge, and application of correct settings..would've left the Bmw , way, way behind. I sell the Product also in Florida.

I believe this might be a combination of the following: SA only has 95oktan and not 98 which might affect the big volume supercharged engine of the Trackhawk more. BMW is always conservative on both 0-100 and performance numbers. I seem to remember they put the last gen M5 (S63 engine) on the dyno and it has about 90bhp more than the official numbers. Weight difference and aerodynamics. The BMW M SUVs are lowered vs stock cars. Transmission and gearshifting. Surprising that the Trackhawk lanch control is so bad it needs to be left off. Can’t wait for the X5M/X6M drag races now.

This is a sketchy race . I have witnessed this in person. Trackhawk won every race . I raced the new x4m 40-50-60 roll . I put 2-3 cars on him every time. I also raced a trackhawk . I lost every race 40-50-60. He got me by 1-2 cars and the trackhawk won the dig against the x4m .

You spoke a lot about how to launch the Trackhawk but nothing on launch control on the M. I have the X3M comp and I am still breaking it in so I have not used the launch control but from what I can tell it is faster using it. I could have purchased a lot of cars for $80k USD but the reason I went with the BMW is the first with the new S58 engine in a vehicle that handles perfect on good roads which I drive on for the most part. Nice comparo!

The S58 M engine is an absolute beast! The new M3 and M4 will be powered by the same engine. Can only imagine what it will do with just a tune!

The Jeep have a supercharger, the BMW having turbos, when you use launch control you have to hold it there for 2 to 3 seconds to build boost and is going to launch wayyy better, the same thing with most Audi’s, you have to wait for the engine to build boost and then you go 😅

I own the X4m competition and it's scary fast. I'm guessing this is just the regular X4m. Patiently waiting on my VR tuning ECU Flash to come in the mail 😏

Since each car won a race, they should have done a third race to determine the champion (best 2 out of 3)

Heat soak on Jeep, caused the 2nd run to have different result I think, to fetch and pass in a head to head is difficult

Old video but you guys did pickup on something most people miss you just didn't get time it seems to work it out. Yes the launch control on the TrackHawk is less than ideal compared to foot braking but these have a system called Torque Reserve that lets you leave the line with 3psi of boost... you can tell in the dragy results that it didn't leave with full boost as the peak G at launch is around 1.2 for a normal stock trackhawk launched properly. 🍻

Yes the trackhawk more power and torque. But it's not that simple. The faster you go the more drag becomes a faster and aerodynamic exponentially becomes a factor. Once at a certain speed the aerodynamics is a bigger factor than the power output.

1200 lbs lighter really helped the bmw.

Trackhawk is much cheaper than X4M in Australia ($120k vs $160k), so I still choose Trackhawk

This video is actually really well done. Legitimately. I enjoyed this.

Did anyone else notice that X4M ran an 11.85 in the second run? I don't even know if an M4 Competition or the CS can run that. They might be 12 flat. Insane. And that motor is going into the next M3.

I wouldn't be surprised if bmw was quicker of the line, but that it did catch the trackhawk at the end was surprisingly 😲😲
