every movement in the Dr.'s fast set is like a whip crack. Love it. That is the essence of Taiji at combat speed. Sadly that is a part of the art that needs to be focused on more today, same with many other styles of Kung Fu, both internal and external. Can't be all about Taolu.

Xie Xie Ni for posting this. I have a few of Yang Sifu's books and I've always respected him, also love the fact that this video shows Yang style at combat speed. People need to realize that it isnt just what most over here in the west know. It is a martial art. Again thanks. *Bows*

His performance beginning at 2.22 may very well be the best demonstration of Tai Chi on KZread. Expert blending of hard and soft. In the west all that is taught is the the soft side.....

The reason why is that people get hurt. As martial artists we are taught to use it for self defense only and not to show off. It's about protecting the family and saving lives not competition.

Evidence for bioelectricity? That is proven to be how muscles work since they galvanically made frog legs jump. The question of whether conscious(or subconscious) control and regulation of this bioelectricity is possible is the real issue. There is enough evidence, from the skills of professional athletes to the 'fight science' series from NatGeo, to convince me even if I didn't have personal conviction that Chi works fine.

What kind of substantial evidence is there for the existence of chi energy? It's not my intention to debunk, I am just curious because I'm not aware of any peer-reviewed data on the subject that can't be explained by already-understood physiological processes. I'm curious mostly because from Tai Chi there does seem to be some kind of effect taking place that is palpable. What is it?
