The safest way for Wong to land would have been for him to direct the outgoing portal upward rather than horizontally. That would have allowed him to safely negate his gravity-induced momentum by using gravity itself. Instead he chose to hurl himself along asphalt at full velocity.

Actually, if you fall from a height and use a portal to redirect that momentum upwards, you will reach the same height. That would make you fall again from the same height. So, it doesn't really solve the problem.

@@akilansundaram2181 With air resistance this isn't completely true. Nevertheless your basic point is of course correct. I wrote haphazardly and my intention was that he should use gravity, via an upward gate, to slow himself before using another method, such as the horizontal gate he used, to land. So, for example, he could return almost to the height he started, or maybe half of it, then open another gate and just step into it, like a trampoliner jumping off then back onto a building, except he'd step out somewhere else. But as it was shown he'd have scraped himself all over the pavement ... like wiping out on a motorcycle or being thrown out of a car window on the interstate. It's probably not survivable even under optimum conditions. A 3.5 second fall is the rough equivalent of a 66 mph wipeout. A 4.5 second fall 88 mph. Etc. These are just quick calculations but you get the idea. My point was that just using a horizontal gate doesn't ensure survivability unless he also has some kind of inertial dampening field that's not in evidence. And if he has that then he could just have used that, without any need for a gate at all.

I love how the monster looks at Strange after he removes the invisibility. Oh you bitch! You did NOT just do that!!

For those not familiar, all this did was banish Shuma-Gorath. If he entered the MCU or almost any other universe at full power, it would be catastrophic. This here wasn't even .05 of a % of what he's capable of.

So Doctor Strange can cut the monster with a sharp metal piece from the bus. Also he can conjure a magical disc(00:43) strong enough that can cut through a bus of the same metal like butter. Yet he didn't slice the moster off with the same disc 🤔Is he trying to make it more dramatic or is he trying to bankrupt the insurance companies among other things??

I was also thinking the same thing. But for the sake of the story and to make the fight scene more longer they didn't do that (making Strange kill Gargantos swiftly).

The monster can dodge the wheel and it would slice another building in half and all the people in that building would fricking die. Then the insurance company has to pay even more for the building and people's insurance. So strange is actually very considerate of the property damage and he finished the fight in 2:58 and then u can see the building is still repairable and stable and it will just cost some thousands. But I the scenario I explained above the damage and compensation cost could be in millions

If you observed closely when Wong tries to attack Gargantos with a magic whip, the magic runes in its tentacles starts glowing as if it was resisting the attack, then Wong summoned a magic sword to attack it. Meaning it was resistant to direct magic attacks but physical attacks using objects would be effective, that magic circular saw wouldn't do that much damage to it

The cgi was questionable at times but i liked it

Yep, this is definitely a Raimi film. Stupid and awesome at the same time. Strange and Wong steadily filling out the list of every crazy spell from the comics we've been hoping to see, and also trying to restrain a giant monster with chains and their completely unbraced feet. Never change, Sam.

I DONT KNOW BUT I FIND GARGANTOS CUTE AND ADORABLE..

I appreciate that Gargantos was, more or less, using non-lethal attacks against Strange and Wong, opting to knock them out or hold them in its tentacles rather than outright crushing them. We later learn that Wanda is controlling it, and since she respects both Strange and Wong, she didn't want to kill either one of them at the time.

Marvel lost the rights to the name Shuma Gorath so they had call it a different name but it was meant to be called Shuma Gorath.
