Now just imagine all the incredible scenes we could have gotten if he wasn't nerfed or just completely taken out of a fight because the directors couldn't think of a way to write him in (that wouldn't end the battle in seconds).

I feel like this shows that if anything Strange isn't nerfed it's just the situations he keeps getting thrown into are either higher level like when he's dealing with Wanda or too close combat oriented for him to go full power at his normal medium range like all his fights with Mordo

@@veggiewillymass After creating portals to let in thousands of people he’s essentially nonexistent in the biggest fight of the 21 film series that is Endgame because he’s busy stopping water, he gets beaten by a teenager and gets his shit stolen all while in his own dimension, he gets beat by Ebony Maw while in possession of the time stone. Then goes on to live and do as he pleases after fighting a 4 stone Thanos without even using the time stone. Spiderman wouldn’t even last a second (solo) against Thanos while Dr. Strange was the only reason why they were even able to beat him. On top of the fact that he lasted the longest 1v1 vs him. What does close combat have to do with a sorcerer not being able to use his powers? He can literally draw up dimensions, portals, fly, or blast his way to create any amount of distance he needs. How does teenage Peter Parker constitute a higher level opponent than Thanos? And how is stopping some water harder than transporting in thousands of people in seconds? You’re points aren’t well grounded at all.

@@Vladyyy I don't have a point against the water thing I'll be honest that is just the Russo's keeping him out of the fight cause he's so damn powerful but as for Spider-Man that's whole other story. For one he's not fighting Spider-Man seriously he's just trying to get the box from him. Secondly Peter is straight up just smarter than Strange is and it's essentially just a one time deal that he managed to outsmart him given the circumstances and his own capabilities with his spider sense allowing him to evade Strange for as long as he did. Ur being like Strange in underestimating Peter so much. Close combat prohibits Strange from drawing up dimensions, portals, and blasts because he needs his hands to do something that is rather difficult when your being stabbed at and have to focus on defense instead. As for flight he doesn't have the cloak of levitation during either of his fights with Mordo so that's a no go.

@@veggiewillymass Of course I get that but Spider-Man literally has one ability to go on the offensive vs Strange and that’s his webbing. Send him to a small lake or a patch of snow and he’s going to be moving around as fast as a turtle. Completely ineffective. And out of all characters in the MCU Strange could conjure up literally countless of things to trap Spider Man from moving. I can see Peter being smarter than him but Strange is as eager to get to that box as your classic villain is to enact their evil plan to end the world. Instead of the lengthy monologue we get Strange grasping at thin air (for some laughs) wondering how Spiderman can still move his arm with his spirit knocked out of him. Followed by a prolonged chase scene through dimensions for the audience to enjoy. Among the countless other things he could have done, the second he knocked Peters spirit away he would have restrained his arms just like he did TWICE in the same fight vs a much stronger Thanos if he was (written to be) serious about it all. Battle over. That box isn’t a toy, Strange knows that but you can tell by that scene the moment they get outside that they wrote it as if this was all a game of cat vs mouse. There’s no way in the world you could honestly tell me that if someone gave you Strange’s powers and all you had to do was immobilize Spider Man (when he’s already on your home turf) that you couldn’t do it. 07:30 Here’s a close combat portal for you. Blink and you’ll miss it. Buddy literally teleports two people faster than he even draws his hand sheilds Lol, and I don’t see how the others aren’t more clear but as long as you can see how ridiculous the water bit is then I rest my case. That’s by far the most clear and obvious as well as inexcusable omission there is. To leave him out at the most important part of the entire saga to handle a grunts works is just something else.

@@Vladyyy It seems we're just not going to agree on the whole Spider-Man thing but as for close combat Loki is nowhere near close enough to even be a problem for Strange. With Mordo dude is wayyy closer and wayyy faster with an even longer and more dangerous reach due to having sword. Not to mention that Strange was handcuffed for like half their fight. Also I don't take as much offense to Strange doing not as much combat stuff during Endgame cause the movie narrative is focused on the OG 6 Avengers instead of predominantly showcasing newcomers like Infinity War did with Strange and Spider-Man and this ends up effecting who's fights are shown too. I'd much rather see Cap kicking Thanos' ass or even Captain Marvel v Thanos over Strange v Thanos part 2 simply cause I've already seen it before. And with so many characters someone's bound to get at least a little shafted. He's still a good piece of the plot reminding Tony of their 1 chance at winning.

Benedict Cumberbatch did such a phenomenal job playing the character.

He is. He’s been nerfed pretty badly at key moments- to give other heroes a chance to have their moment in the spotlight. I mean he went toe to toe with Thanos, who had FOUR Infinity Stones at his disposable, and Strange held his own pretty well all things considered. And in my personal head canon, Strange allowed himself to be caught, to allow for the scenario in which the Avengers would win, to unfold. That last bit again is just my opinion, but yeah.

Strange managed to defeat her in DSMOM by Chavez In comics, It's because Dr Strange is more experienced and knowledgeable and cunning, calm, control of his emotions and powers which is something Scarlett Witch isn't and that's why she lost to Dr Strange.

The biggest problem I see with dr.strange 2 is he has no magic system that we can understand like full metal Alchemist or other magic system in anime he just pulls out random spell without any explanation this was different in dr.Strange 1 were we know he only 4 or 5 ability which he uses interchangeably like mirror dimension, portal, soul removing, time manipulation and object construction like sword or rope we can clearly understand his every techniques

Considering he held his own against Thanos, when Thanos had four Infinity Stones at his disposable, Strange is extremely powerful. And in that specific clip, it was only when Thanos managed to pull him in close and physically grab him that he was able to best Strange. But honestly, I think Strange allowed him to do that, because he saw the actions necessary to win the war, in the end. Because if Strange didn’t want to be caught, I don’t think he would have allowed himself to be. If anything his cloak would have yanked him back before Thanos could get him in range of the Space Stone’s pull. Honestly, I think the only other magic user in the MCU stronger than Strange is Wanda Maximoff.
