I was once the tour guide for Dr. Shashi Tharoor & his family. And although he is a renowned authority on Hinduism he never once interrupted or corrected me when I spoke in detail on Hindu mythology. That is evident of his great spirit. Hats off to him always.

The thought process of Dr'Tharoor is so fast and fabulous, just like the waterfalls falling on the audience giving them warmth and fusion and to become like him even to its smallest extent. What a wonderful speech and therapy of knowledge to be so open and democratic. !!

Sashi Tharoor was born with a silver spoon in a very privileged family. He had education in parochial schools and he had his higher education outside India. Unlike me, he had a secure, comfortable and protected life. I was born in New Delhi but I had the most difficult childhood. Please read my story, 'On the other side of despair' which is available in the Amazon Kindle Store. I was born a few years after India gained independence from Britain. I live in the USA now and like most expatriates, I would hesitate to go back and settle in India that is steeped in corruption, bribery, congestion, pollution, filthiness, violence, etc. While growing up in New Delhi, I have seen the magnificent buildings like Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament of India and other beautiful structures throughout India built by the Britishers. My kudos to them for abolishing 'sati', infanticide, caste system and so forth. My above board father was a civil government official who never compromised his integrity whereas his colleagues greased the palms of their seniors to procure better positions and salaries. After he retired, he wrote a hilarious satire, 'Going Up' about his situations in personal and official life.

Like the radha soami path says, all events are timed for our duties in this physical realm. Indians are more focused on genes and trying too hard to become western and the West are picking up on our spiritual wealth. This man shashi should listen to "ishwar puri" on radha soami path. I and I am sure like me a lot of people do not understand why the Congress Party does not select him unanimously as their leader. With the achievements by the Congress Part long time ago, but not recently and with a leader like Dr Tharoor, an erudite ,highly educated with his vast experiences in dealing with troubles in various parts of the world,he will be able to revive the party and make an affective opposition to the current BJP government and ultimately defeat this virtually opposition less Government and become one of the great PM of India.

Mr Tharoor though I am a fan of your oratory skills and appreciate your concern for freedom speech, strengthening of institution etc but it is evident from last several years there is no freedom of speech thought and expression in the form of a leadership role within the Congress. It's seems that the party is just dedicated to the cause of the single dynasty. It no longer produces or attracts leaders like Sardar Patel, Balgangadhar Tilak, Lalbahadur Shastri to name a few who cared for national interest and rose above party lines for the ordinary people. Mr Tharoor what you are failing to understand is that country needs a strong opposition with a blue print and plan of action for the country if you are really critical of the governments acts of omission and commission. Otherwise the citizens are left with no choice. Currently we lack thought leaders who can guide the country and protect her from adversaries with good foreign policy, defense, education, business and financial environment etc. Jai Hind 🇮🇳 Jai Bharat 🇮🇳

Dr Shashi Tharoor... namaskaram from Malaysia. I read your novel THE GREAT INDIAN NOVEL in 1990. Since then i have been your ardent fan n your ideologies... Personally, you are a genius... but i think you have committed to the wrong political party. If you were in BJP, i truly believe you can serve our motherland more!!! With love n respects to you...

When ever any wife is dead in suspicious scenario the primary suspect is the husband only. I hope some criminals get caught in india who are roaming free and when they had their government they did mess up with key evidence

I greatly admired Shashi when he worked for the U.N. I read his books and liked them. After he became an Indian politician, his brilliance rapidly started getting tarnished and so did my admiration of him. I have put him in the same category as I put the impractical Arundhati Roy or Asaduddin Owaisi. Some degree of pragmatism and desh bhakti is required to be a successful politician. Shashi fails in those qualities. He may make a good saint.

Shashi is erudite and interesting. He is not a good politician. For a good politician, the desh comes first. What is not good for the country is bad politics.

He indeed is a great speaker and writer, but one should not ignore the fact that he got access to convent education as well as the place of advantage. Of course with the dint of hard work, he utilized every opportunity that comes his way. The reason why I am saying this is there are many shashi tharoors who are still struggling to make a name, if not fame and fortune.
