Dr. Ruth was an amazing woman. May her memory be a blessing. And kudos to Carson for conducting a thoughtful and adult interview.

She was always so delightful whenever I caught one of her daytime TV appearances in the 80s. I learned a lot, too! RIP, Dr. Ruth.

So loved Dr Ruth. Her ability to teach without embarrassment was a priceless talent. Her books, tv, radio and lectures as a teacher were fascinating. Always respectful. RIP to Dr Ruth.

Thank you Dr. Ruth for being bold and courageous in removing the cultural stigma of sex, moving minds from shame to informed to proactive. Surprisingly, even today our culture struggles with differing views of sex and how it should be talked about, but without a doubt, you paved a path for others to follow. ❤❤❤

Johnny was an unbelievable class act! As he rightly pointed out the audience became tense and awkward the moment they were told the topic of discussion, but he kindly took them by the hand and brought them along for an entertaining, informative experience.

All praise to that tiny, tough, generous woman. My ex helped her get out of a bathroom stall in midtown in the 90s, and we thought she was old then. But also, Johnny Carson is saying "consenting adults" in '82, and that stuns me. I tend to think of him as a little square, but he's so much more on it than same-era Letterman.

Her time in Nazi Germany and escape are amazing. ~~~~~ Wikipedia wrote that, "In 1948, on her 20th birthday, Westheimer was seriously wounded in action by an exploding shell during a mortar fire attack on Jerusalem during the 1947-1949 Palestine war; the explosion killed two girls who were right next to her. She had near-fatal injuries; she was temporarily paralyzed, almost lost both of her feet, the top of one of her feet was blown off, and it was several months of recuperating in a ward before she was able to walk again. In 2018 she said that she still visited Israel every year, and felt that it was her real home, and the following year said that she was and is a Zionist." ~~~~~ She was an incredible woman.

Dear and respected editors of this video channel, it would be great if you could upload a full recording of Belinda Carlisle's guest appearance on the show from 1988 where she performed two songs in addition to the interview. One of them is I GET WEAK and the other, if I'm not mistaken, is HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH. I hope you will want to please all of us who love her. Thank you in advance on behalf of myself and Belinda Carlisle fans. 🍺🍺 from Steve.
