This is the worst feeling to live with. Knowing someone has killed your family member and they are walking around free. My uncle pushed my mother out of a moving car in 1987 she was hit and ran over by a oncoming car. She was taken away in 32 body bags. I tried so hard to have my uncle held accountable for her death but Florida closed the case. I have forever had a hole in my heart that he was never held accountable for his baby sisters death.

I’m so sorry that happened. It devastates me that people that are guilty of murder get away with it all the time and nothing can be done legally if there is not enough evidence. A very good friend of mine was murdered in 2018 and the person convicted got off not Guilty. There were 4 witnesses to her murder and none of them have spoken or want to even though one of them was her “bestfriend”. Her murderer is still out there and it’s known who it is but not enough evidence. I can only hope karma comes back to people like that later in life.

He lied and said he was driving because his girlfriend, the driver lost her license for DUI. He blamed it on the alcohol he consumed.

Personally, I've always subscribed to the idea that if it means enough to you, you should be willing to take justice into your own hands if the law fails you (which it usually does). If the idea of your mother's murder walking free eats you up that badly inside, and if enough time has passed and that feeling hasn't gone away, then maybe you should consider whether it's worth spending time in prison to avenge her death. After all, if you're going to live in torment for the rest of your life, then consider whether it's better to live in a prison of concrete and steel or one of guilt and powerlessness. But it may not be, and if you have other things to live for, then try and find some way to live with those feelings and just hope he dies horribly in some accident or something. It's a heavy decision, and not one to make lightly. To be clear, I am NOT advocating for you to do anything, I'm only presenting a perspective.

@@trevscribbles However polygraphs can influence prosecutors and/or police to either pursue a case, or to shift to look for other suspects. Useful so police don't waste a lot of valuable time on the wrong suspect. Also they could be very helpful if used on key witnesses. They are mostly accurate once you rule out sociopathy/psychopathy, and the presence of any drugs that might affect the test. There are also tricks to "beat the box" but they can be checked for and eliminated. Like everything else the tech, as well as the psychology of deception, has improved over the years. Not defending him. I don’t know the back story or what was determined as cause of death. I assume he escaped conviction through effective legal defense or was not evidence to charge him or maybe no crime at all. But… guilt surrounding a death leaves a person questioning what they could have done to prevent it or what they did indirectly to cause it and enough blame upon themselves aside from murder that there’s still deception that skews a polygraph. Same is true if someone believes their own deception. It may provide indications of conscious deceptions but not conclusively. And this is why they are not always accepted in a trial. Guilty passes one and it’s favorable in the minds of a jury. innocent and fails one results in a false conviction. Because it’s not perfect, it can’t be trusted unequivocally to prosecute or defend. Not sure anyone should actually take one unless their legal representative is very certain it will be helpful. Denying one might look bad, but taking one on dr Phil and failing looks worse. Guilty or not pretty dumb move.

You cannot judge something like that from a polygraph test lmao. Too many variables. The tone of his voice and the way he speaks when defending himself says otherwise. No stuttering. Very clear and to the point. Didn’t add a load of bollox he just made it clear. Repeated himself twice and no more. Could just be used to lying at this point or he’s innocent eitherway from the sounds of it we will never know.
