I had the Vivity lens put in 2 weeks ago. My distance and close up vision are extremely clear. I've been told the full effect won't be felt until about a month. There is an adjustment period. The only problem I have is I have trouble focusing in a building that uses florescent led lighting. It has gotten better with time and continues to improve. I work in a building with this light. Other than that I am very satisfied. The only other side effect is a flashing sensation in the outer field of vision area when I move my eye back and forth. The doctor says this should diminish with time. I only need one eye done. The other still has perfect 20/10 vision.

@@jayblue5310 Yes I can read the dash easily. There are no halos at night from oncoming light. This was a concern to me. The thing to keep in mind if you get the lens is it takes about a month to adjust to it fully. Be patient. The flashing of light I mentioned in my original comment is almost gone. The doctor says it is caused by eye floaters that were there before the procedure. I'm not an expert, and not everyone will have the same result, but I am 100% satisfied with the choice. I did feel a lot of anxiety choosing a lens. There are so many choices and not much in the way of feedback from people who have had the procedure done. I'm glad I made this choice. I also opted for the laser procedure over conventional surgery. It's more money but to me nothing is more important than eyesight. Good luck with your choice.

Hi I know this was 8 months ago but I’m considering getting mini mono vivity as well. Can I ask you a couple questions? 1. What’s the advantage of having the laser surgery over the conventional? 2. As far as contrast loss you said at dusk it takes your eyes a while to adjust and in stores. Did that get better or go away? Right now my cataract causes neon indoor lighting such as in Walmart to be so irritating. So I’m hoping it’s at least 80% than the cataract and improves as time goes by. Thanks!

@@ruthemmett2704 My doctor insisted on the laser procedure for the premium lens. I personally don't know the difference, but it seems to me the laser is less intrusive and more precise than the blade. I've been told it heals faster and has less chance of complications. I can say I had no problems at all with the laser. The procedure is absolutely painless. I know people who had standard lenses put in using the blade procedure and they had no problems either. The laser cost me an extra 1500 dollars. The only problem I had at first was focusing in a store with florescent led lighting. That went away completely in a few weeks. Most people say there is no adjustment period, but it did take me a while to get used to the new lens. I can say my far away vision is absolutely perfect. The only "problem" is if I look at a green traffic light from a very long distance there is a small ring of light around it. No halos from oncoming lights at night that other multifocal lenses have. Close up my vision is very good. I test my eyes one at a time out of habit, and my left is as good close up too. Maybe in very dim light I struggle seeing extremely small print, but over all I think the results are more than I expected. Everyday things like a computer screen or reading are 100%. I don't even think about it. The only negative is I have eye floaters and at first they seemed much more noticeable. I got used to it in time. No glasses needed either. Hope yours works out ok. I will answer any questions if I can.

I am having to have my first cataract Surgery at 44 and I cannot for the life of me decide between Vivity or PanOptix for my right eye?! I've never needed glasses before, and nighttime vision is important to me. Two of the most frustrating of the symptoms of cataract has been glare around windows, and halos/starbursts at night. However, cell phone and computer use is very important to me. Which would you ultimately recommend as a result? Ty in advance!

Is there a significant loss of contrast sensitivity?

I had a similar experience and was using readers for near after first eye. Now my second eye is done and the doc made me a little near sighted in second eye. Now perfect vision at all distances. Only had second eye done a week ago.

I have Vivity right eye and now can't read. Distance and mid range average. Waste of money. Get standard lense and buy glasses.

That hasn't been my experience. Better than 20/20 far and I can use my computer without glasses. Near vision is not quite that good. But I had my second eye done a week ago and the doc tuned the implant for better near vision. I have perfect vision at all distances now.
