I always label it a 'throat' wound, to distinguish from what most people call the 'neck' the back part where his spine is, contrasted to the 'throat' that is in the front. As Dr. Perry said in his first un-changed report, the small entry wound he saw was just below the Adam's Apple,, making it perfectly located for the tracheotomy he performed to assist the breathing, therefore from the front [making LHO not responsible!] making it convenient for the tracheotomy. If it was a large exit wound (therefore entering via the back (neck) side [that supposedly went through and then hit Gov. Connally, in the 'magic bullet' theory], it would have been too big and jagged wound to be useful for a tracheotomy.

The key takeaway here is that JFK's treating physician on 11/22/1963 says that the bullet that struck JFK in the neck came from the front, and that the bullet that struck JFK in the head may have also come from the front.

At least one bullet had to hit his head from the front, to push him so strongly backwards, consistent with the laws of physics that mandated a frontal shot. Any shot from the rear would obviously do the opposite to him: push him strongly forward! That did not occur, and the slight movement seen in that direction was later determined to be from the camera movement that Zapruder used. Even with some frames omitted (by the intelligence people with their section at Kodak's processing plant in Rochester, NY that weekend, there still would be a strong reaction to the back of his seat, and a little bit to the left into Jackie. That proves a slightly-right side shot from the front. Many people saw the smoke rising from behind the picket fence, and started running to that area after, as seen in at least one video on the ground by a spectator. Proving once more, there was a crossfire with more than one shot from the front: throat wound, hole in windshield, a shot missed,--hitting the curb behind the limo--a piece broke-off to hit witness James Tague, to make at least 3 shots that did not hit JFK or Gov. Connally.

@@freeguy77, what's also convincing is the blood spray (good videos have been done on this). RE the head shot, nobody - nobody - to JFK's right was hit with blood. In contrast, the people to JFK's left and behind JFK to the left (going back many feet) were showered with blood, skull and brain matter. That is strong physical evidence that the shot to JFK's head came from the front right. What is front right to JFK is the picket fence atop the grassy knoll. Many eye witnesses believe that at least one shot came from behind the fence atop the grassy knoll.

@@freeguy77 I agree that a shooter was probably behind that fence...but the nonsense about smoke has confused me. Unlike Civil War weapons that produced great amounts of smoke when fired, modern weapons use smokeless powder.....I have fired thousands of rounds from both rifles and pistols, and I have never witnessed smoke coming from the end of a barrel.

"THEY" hadn't gotten to Perry yet, at this early stage.....therefore, he was simply telling the truth!!

That neck wound was indeed an entrance wound, but that shot came from the South Knoll on the other side of Dealey plaza. It entered on the right side and base of the neck bruising JFK's right lung. I don't think that was a fatal shot and I think he would have survived. But he was actually hit twice more in the head (also hit in the upper back at almost the same time he was hit in the neck). The "Three tramps" hit team was positioned in the concrete gondola BEHIND Abraham zapruder. One of those hit men, hit JFK in the side of the head, while the south knoll gunman hit JFK AGAIN in the right temple (remember Jackie pulled Jack's head and face towards her as she noticed he was distress, which means his face and head were almost parallel with the south knoll gunman at this time (with the limo almost stationary). This shot would cause the gaping exit wound in the rear and loss of Occipital bone and lower skull in the back of the head, and push JFK back and the shot from the gondola would push him to his left. Remember these men were firing on JFK almost simultaneously. As they were directed to by radio, from the command center. The grassy knoll shot was nothing more than a diversion to get everyone running or looking away from the actual assassins. It was very loud and smokey; typical smoke and mirror tactics. Also it was high noon so nobody could see over on the south knoll area, and it had perfect cover. The sun blinded anyone attempting to look over... Which is why it wasn't a coincidence of the time when the motorcade would be where it was and make that dreadful turn from Houston to elm. And proceed to creep down the road. A classic turkey shoot setup by the CIA.

Mrs. Kennedy shouted, "They've shot his head off;" then turned and raised out of her seat as if she were reaching to her right rear toward the back of the car for something that had blown out. I forced her back into her seat and placed my body above President and Mrs. Kennedy. SA Greer had, as I jumped onto the Presidential automobile, accelerated the Presidential automobile forward. I heard ASAIC Kellerman call SA Lawson on the two-way radio and say, "To the nearest hospital, quick." I shouted as loud as I could at the Lead car, "To the hospital, to the hospital." As I lay over the top of the back seat I noticed a portion of the President's head on the right rear side was missing and he was bleeding profusely. Part of his brain was gone. I saw a part of his skull with hair on it lieing in the seat. The time of the shooting was approximately 12:30 p.m., Dallas time. I looked forward to the jump seats and noticed Governor Connally's chest was covered with blood and he was slumped to his left and partially covered up by his wife. I had not realized until this point that the Governor had been shot. When we arrived at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, I jumped off the Presidential automobile, removed my suit coat and covered the President's head and upper chest with it. I assisted in lifting the President from the rear seat of the automobile onto a wheel type stretcher and accompanied the President and Mrs. Kennedy into the Emergency Room. Governor Connally had been placed in an Emergency Room across the hall. 100% head and throat shots came from front back shot as described by hill below came from 2/3rd floor of Dal tex Hale Eugene Brading alias Jim Braden from LA, California met with HL Hunt who funded the operation the night before was arrested 3rd floor of dal tex At approximately 2:45 a.m., November 23, I was requested by ASAIC Kellerman to come to the morgue to once again view the body. When I arrived the autopsy had been completed and ASAIC Kellerman, SA Greer, General McHugh and I viewed the wounds. I observed a wound about six inches down from the neckline on the back just to the right of the spinal column. I observed another wound on the right rear portion of the skull. Attendants of the Joseph Gawler Mortuary were at this time preparing the body for placement in the casket. A new casket had been obtained from Gawler Mortuary in which the body was to be placed at 1:11pm JH Sawyer said on police radio “On the 3rd floor of this book company down here, we found empty rifle hulls and it looked like the man had been here for some time. @@brianstevensii938 Your comments are total fantasy! If more than three bullets were flying in and around JFK, the other passengers and that huge limousine where are they? Investigators painstakingly located all three bullets and fragments fired by Oswald so where did the other ones go? If his neck wound was an entrance wound passing entirely through soft tissue what happened to it after it exited? A high powered rife bullet would certainly have a lot of energy remaining after passing through his neck…where is it? Further, no other person, most of all the First Lady, was hit by crossfire or bullet fragments. How do you account for that? Again, a high powered bullet shot from the right would have a lot of potential energy yet nothing else was hit. How can that be? Also, a bullet fired at the front of the limousine would have the least chance of making it through the windscreen, between the driver and second secret service agent in the front seat, then 4:04 snaking its way past Mrs. Connolly and Mr. Connolly (who was seated only seventeen inches in front of JFK!) That bullet would have had no direct path to Kennedy and, again, was not found in or around anyone or anything in or out of the limousine. Given that, any scenario you suggested was simply impossible. Only the official account makes sense!

The one shot that hit JFK from the rear we know of, hit him just to the right of the spine but middle-back (autopsy), not upper 'neck' area. Rep. Gerald Ford (later president after Nixon resigned in '74), was one of the 7 WC members, and the FBI-informant to DIrector Hoover, to let him know of new info on the case, moved UP that wound over 5-inches to make that piece of fiction, "the magic bullet' going through the (back) neck to hit Connally, to make that theory plausible, when first created by the lying-mind of then WC staff lawyer (later Sen.) Arlen Spector. He had no evidence for that at all, just created it from nothing, to keep the Oswald "lone shooter' idea alive. Else, they would have had to admit from the start, a conspiracy with more than one shooter with more shots beyond the capability of the laughable Italian-made Carcano rifle, which is a joke-assassin rifle in itself. Needless to say, it never happened that way from the timing, and there were SILENT shots from rifles having silencers on them! That is why there was a deliberate effort to let only 3 shots heard, to blame Oswald, because 4 shots would prove 'conspiracy'. He had not shot a gun for years! May 1959 was his final Marines' rifle test a mere 191, barely at the lowest 'marksman' 190 level, 212 in 1956 at 'sharpshooter' level, and 230 was the 'expert' level; he never got close to in his two tests. The government will come up with no end of falsehoods, lies, half-truths, and other obfuscations to hide the real truth of events' details to protect their government operatives who do these evil things! Jackie never touched JFK until he fell into her lap after all the shots were fired that killed him. You're mistaken if you believe she pulled his head and face to her, before all the shots, you need to look at the video evidence that refutes your theory!

By that logic, all the doctors said it APPEARED that the back of the head was as gone, someone other than Oswald shot JD, etc.

it is outrageous how the investigation of the assassination was handled. JFK was indeed shot from the back once, not by Oswald who apparently could not hit the broadside of a barn according to USMC records; that pin hole back entrance wound was about six inches below the collar level. The pin hole throat wound was indeed an entrance wound (shot from the front)......I have never been able to figure where the bullets from the back wound and from the throat wound exited. The fatal head shot was indeed made from the front.

Dr. Malcolm Perry sounds & looks like a good medical doctor. The President was D.O.A. at Parkland Hospital, but he and the other doctors tried to help J.F.K..
