I think I have it but it's doesn't really hurt at all. I notice the click when I lean to the left or forward while I breath, also when I'm lying on my bed to the right side. Soo after about three years tonight I decided to kinda grab my rib and slip it forward intentionally, then I noticed I can't do it on my left side, maybe just a liiiiile bit, but not as much like the right side. Sorry for my bad English.

Same with me, I started feeling it around 8 to 9 months ago... the click in my right hand side lower rib... it goes in ,comes out when i touch my feet and stand up again, also while laying on bed, a movement i feel in the right side lower rib like it slipping and coming back to position again, and also it doesn't hurting me right now... I told about it to my parents they started laughing on me and took me lightly... What type of doctor deal with this type of problem... Brother do you have any idea about specialist.

When my rib pops it puts me in pain for at least a week. Most people I’ve talked to have never heard of such a thing.

Audiobook - I strained my torso somewhat about five days ago when trying to lift the corner of an armoire. I heard a pretty loud pop and felt a stabbing pain at my right rib cage. I still feel a stabbing when I bend my right side over such as by picking something off the floor with my right hand. Tomorrow I'm seeing a sports MD for X-rays. We'll see if it's a minor injury or not. Hopefully I haven't punctured the liver.

Yes. Per the X-ray, no broken ribs. Doctor said I just needed to wait it out and the pain would subside, which it did within a week or so. Thanks for asking. How about you? How are you doing?

Dr Lisa McMahon nice video but I have so many questions. do you always cut the tips ? Can you mix plates with the Hansen procedure on the tips ? Do you use cartilage as a spacer between the ribs to stop nerve compression? are you using absorbable plates ? Could I request permanent sternum plates? What is the downside to using permanent plates?

Mine is up higher than you described and is difficult to get back into place and off my nerve. It hurts so much and I am active so it happens a lot daily at this point for 2 years now.

There's no mention of Hansen's repair technique here. He has a technique where he stabilizes the slipping rib with a simple figure eight suture to a neighboring rib, which stops the movement and irritation of the nerves. That seems like a much less invasive approach than removal of the cartilage or insertion of a plate.

  • @gustavotonnelli

It’s not only less invasive but it’s also more effective, it basically restores the “normal” anatomy of the ribs. I’ve been suffering from this condition for almost 6 years now and only recently I found out about Dr. Hansen’s approach. I literally cried watching his videos on KZread and ever since then I’ve been hopeful that one day I’ll finally be able to get rid of this terrible pain.

@@gustavotonnelli I’m also on 6 years. It doesn’t help that I’ve also had compression injuries in my spine. The spasms are intense and absolutely refer up the back…all of your muscles will become facilitated to compensate for the instability.

@@gustavotonnelli the Hansen procedure pulls your ribs outward to ovoid the inter coastal nerve. Doing so creates pain in many patients in the form of back pain and spine pressure on your rib heads . It also creates stiffness in the sides of your ribs . His surgery just substitutes one pain for another and some people have minor new pain and others are bedridden afterwards!

Please help me. I have been suffering from this for many decades, but all my doctors look at me as if I have 5 heads on my shoulders whenever I bring it up. Recently my GP told me to stop mentioning SRS since my X-Ray and MRI were unremarkable. I have been searching to find a doctor who would perform hooking maneuver since my GP doesn't do it. I also have been calling clinics and hospitals in my state who perform Dynamic flow ultrasound, so far none. I am in severe pain. Thanks in advance.

She said that if you have clicking with no pain then its just slipping rib. It's only classified as slipping rib syndrome if you have pain. People live their whole lives with slipped ribs and never have pain associated with it. I think its something you just have to live with because nobody will do anything unless its causing you pain.
