A hero from my youth in the 1970's. Found out via your post. A truly brilliant man in many directions.

Jonathan Miller's BBC production of Antony and Cleopatra is the best interpretation I have seen.

Imagine watching someone this knowledgable and eloquent on an American talk show nowadays. Actually, you would have to imagine that.

Those four blokes were so talented and intelligent. I love Peter Cook , but they were all pretty funny on the show.

I admired the late great Dr. Miller and enjoyed his work over the years. I highly recommend tracking down the excellent version of Alice in Wonderland that he directed back in the 60s. The DVD includes a director's commentary track where Miller talks about both the production of the film and some quite interesting facts about his childhood (and yes that last bit was meant to be read in Peter Cook voice).

I can’t believe a giant of drama like Dr Miller was on a show like Letterman - what an odd and endearing choice of guest.

Wow, he can really do Dudley's and Peter's voices! Comic genius. As others have said, I wish it was standard in the 21st century to have public intellectuals on chat shows.
