Our Dr. Dre discord server: discord.gg/Zvvy9ZnprB (we chat about news) This documentary was uploaded by Apple Music on youtube, but they deleted it some weeks later. I decided to post it, because you can only watch it on iTunes right now. Edit: I keep seeing people mentioning Scott Storch. Of course he contributed to the album, but this is just a short anniversary documentary, they didn't mention Mel-Man or Hittman either.

Written by literally the greatest rap lyricists of all time (Eminem, Royce Da 5'9", Jay-Z and Nas), combined with timeless west coast hip hop instrumentals by DRE, and executed by some of the greatest performers in the business (DRE, Eminem, Snoop, Xzibit, Kurupt, and Hittman at the time). i was there for the tail end of Pac's career and the start of Em's. A very significant time for rap and hip hop. I think Ice T's Cop Killa was my first purchase. OG was good too. Spice 1, NWA, then Snoop and Dre on Chronic, then Cube, Eazy. Those were the OG's for me. Then came Busta. Nas. Then I started stumbling upon groups and artists like Tribe, Blackstar, UGK. Real music with real dudes talking about real shit. It was more than just fun and creative, it was real. It was like, this is who we are, and this is how we live. Especially when Pac came out, that motherfucker straight up commit revolutionary suicide in full view of the world for everybody to see. it'll never be that real again, i mean, it might, but i haven't seen it yet.

Dr. Dre and Eminem is just extraordinary. It's one of those once in a history of all time kind of thing, it's something extra, extra plus. It's an honour to be alive during this duo, it truly is. Thanks for your music, both of you. It keeps alot of spirits up, that's 100%.
It's nice to see Dre in an interview with someone who he looks up to and not just the other way around. Totally different vibe.
I remember when I bought this album in High School. Went over to a friends house and we blasted every song. I also don’t think that my neighbours were too happy with Still Dre. Being played over and over again. I remember meeting two guys around my age that were on a Greyhound from The Up In Smoke Tour in Vancouver, BC. I was so jealous that they got to go, I wanted to go so bad. Even years and years after the album had came out and I got a car and put massive subs in my car for this album. Being 20 years later I still listen to it and I still love it. I never got tired of it. Thanks to Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg for doing one of the biggest albums in my High School days.
2001 is such a 10/10 classic no skip too many iconic beats features also done madness

@@stephenstuckey Another good one is the Em track he jumped on "Old Time's Sake". They both go in on that one, but it's one of Dre's best verses. Criminally underrated.

@@diddliduddli2835 He said it appears like he's in a lot of it because of the way he cut and edited the songs. He didn't really drop that many verses on 2001.

@@Zeroshiki well, i gotta dissappoint you but dre doesnt seem to know HIS OWN ALBUMS very well.. listen to it, skip through some songs and you will see that he is on almost EVERY SONG except the skits and 3 or 4 songs.. you cant make it look like he is on every song, either he is or he is not 🤣🤣🤣🤣
RIP Nate Dogg! 🙏🙏🙏

the undisputed hook GOAT
2001 shaped my entire childhood and life as an adult. I was a kid growing up in SoCal you couldn’t go anywhere and not hear Dr. Dre. One of the best bodies of work, we use the word legend too much but Dr. Dre is a LEGEND.
That music will never be old.. Never ever be old. This music is super cold and ever ever green
I like that..give yourself time...'1 month, 2 months a year for something that will last forever'. Spoken by a true pioneer. Jimmy Iovine. what you in it for the art or the money....take time for the art to grow into what it should be. No microwave cooking. He's a legend no doubt.
Iovine was the great mind behind those blowing up songs at the times. The guy made Dre do the most popular song of his career. They did the same with Real Slim Shady song of Em too. The first single was gonna be Who Knew for MMLP but the studio wanted another single and they pushed Em to do one of his greatest hits. Back in the days, Interscope was the shit. I think they lost that touch a decade ago unfortunately.

I don’t think they lost it but the challenge of filling in those type of shoes is close to impossible.

They lost their touch because they are out of touch with the hiphop culture. How does a wealthy gay white guy like Iovine know what the culure needs... He doesnt give a fuck about the culture. He never pushed the culture, he pushed his business!
