I was particularly struck by this statement: "It is my conclusion after 40 years at this that we don't really trade markets at all. We trade our beliefs about markets, and everybody's beliefs about markets are different". Absolutely profound and well worth pondering.

I just got to know about Dr Paul last year through a KZread video. It was an interview he had given for a publication and that that one interview I saw was an absolute game changer (for real). And as I hear this news now, I naturally got a tear in my eye, like as if I knew him or have been following him for a longtime. That's the kind of impact he and his words had on me. "If your entry is sloppy, then your stoploss has got to be a red bus away. The stop needs to be where the stop needs to be." - Dr David Paul

There is just SO much gold in what David is saying. Especially the part about the "Press ups". Nobody can do it for you - you have to do it yourself. The same in trading. You have to walk the path yourself. So much wisdom

I worked with him in Rivonia, South Africa for 3 years and he was a superb mentor and my time with Share Direct was hugely impacted directly by David. Thanks Tom for this enormous gift ! A few years ago, David said in an interview : "I win because I put my entries at the place you put your stop-loss" . I have this sentence in my mind every day since, and completely changed my view of trading. I am so sad he passed away, but nothing compared to your feeling. You lost a great friend and the love and complicity between you is evident in the video.

David's passing hit me very hard. He was a wonderful mentor and friend. He was one of a kind.

I have just discovered him yesterday.. and i love him already.

I was listening to Dr D at the VV weekly Q&A on the 10th July - 3 weeks before he passed! I was stunned when I read the news on the VV website that he had passed on 31/7/23; I felt quite bereft and still do. I never met Dr D but listened to him nearly every Monday pm and often chatted with him online about various aspects of trading. He was incredibly knowledgeable- and funny at times - and one could learn every time on listened to Dr D. Thanks Tom for sharing this video - much appreciated.

The knowledge is the single element on Earth that when you divide, it multiplys. The best video I ever watched about trading was made by him in Johannesburg Stock Exchange Auditorium and it turns out to be fundamental for me. Rest in peace Dr. Paul.

I was blessed enough to stumble across one of David Paul's video's yesteday. It's the one on KZread called "Four mistakes preventing consistent market gains" - David Paul. After hearing his ideas...ESPECIALLY the idea of taking positions at your stop targets, I was INSTANTLY sold on his obvious depth of understanding of the markets. I was heart broken to hear he's no longer with us, however I'm forever grateful for the sage wisdom he's left behind.

Oh my god! I am so so sorry to hear this news. I met Dr David Paul at many conferences, exhibitions and seminars. He was one in a million.
