Try out a new spot at Tanah merah coast road, as it was our first time and not know what to expect, we had a mini competition to see what works better..
Targeting pelagic on top and mid column and soft plastic in the bottom, we had a good fishing session understanding this new spot.

You should use bigger lures to target and see what big fishes lurk around there. Small fishes we not keen leh

😁my usual practice for new spot is always metal jig. From there I would be able to test the depth n any structure or drop off. My setup max 15g so any 15g plastic lure wouldn’t be able to give me distance as they have more wind resistance. Will try out different type of rig the next time I’m there.
Hey hope you don’t mind me asking since i Couldn’t find any info on it on google, does the daiwa crossfire ULG632ULXS-SD have a solid tip or tubular tip?

Most of these rods should be solid tip as tubular are more expensive to manufacture

I’m using Rod: Legame X-Armatura XAR-710TZ Reel: Daiwa Exsit LT 2500S CXH This is my usual setup for light shore jigging. Corto by graphiteleader is a relatively good rod for ajing. Light n sensitive.

@@charlesleander7785 hmmm… that’s a tough choice. But if I have to choose one, I would go for Xesta blackstar, reason being Xesta comes with skeleton reel seat where else corto used EVA. I prefer skeleton reel seat as they’re more sensitive to feel. But on the other hand, if an angler have sweaty palms, skeleton reel seat might be too slippery for them.

Didn’t feel any drop off.. depth there was quite even. Only slight difference between far n near..
