Ian himself created Mito. He previously talked abt his bipolar disorder, and how he used to be taking medications to numb it. Once he took medication, he was able to sleep and that he couldn't hear the voices in his head anymore. But that ultimately made him feel like his life is meaningless. So he stopped the medications, and try to accept Mito as a part of him, and take him as a strength instead of a liability. He finally felt the purpose of life when he started finding himself and accepting Mito into his life. He has since used his journey of acceptance as inspirations for his art and projects, and that reflects in his videography and also his musicality!

Bro if i could pay monthly for a DPR Ian Masterclass, I would lose all my money

Honestly I'm still in awe and I think I've listened to this full album one to two times a day since it came out. I would definitely agree that Rolling Stones interview is almost required reading. I don't think it just straight up gives you all the answers so it doesn't ruin your ability to interpret and relate to the songs however you want but it sets up the world that Ian has created and is sending you into for sure. The album definitely hits two notes with me musically the songs are just sooo good I can vibe with them and enjoy them but then I can also step back and think about how much of his own personal creativity and anguish he's put into creating this. It's kind of weird you know? like when people say they like it when celebrities make breakup songs because the music comes out relatable but do we really want someone going through it for the sake of good art? I don't have the answer just food for thought.

MITO is his "another" self. Like, actually MITO is something created from his disorder. But the thing is, Ian accept MITO as his another self. And MITO is more like his "protector" / dark / strong side. Those low voices and the one who have one eye is MITO. Fun fact, Ian make his own songs. Even this movie is directed by himself. Ofc DPR team help him. But most of it was done by himself

As someone who has bipolar symptoms, and has recently started meds, it’s comforting to know that there are people out there that face the same messed up reality you have. I like how Ian connects those that can relate, for whatever reason, with his imagery and music.

When I first discovered his music, I was floored. I didn’t know anything about him but I saw myself so intimately in his work. I researched him and found out his diagnosis, and it all clicked. I felt seen in a way I never have before. Two years ago (finally! In my 30s) I was diagnosed with Bipolar II (so less of a “high” and not ever in a fun way) also rapid cycling like he is. His work is SPOT. ON. for my experience and I understand how it can be so difficult for a lot of people to parse. Being in one’s bipolar mind can be extremely disorienting, yanked from a high to a low at any time. The high manic phases aren’t all fun and games and are often highly destructive. Substance abuse, risk taking behavior, self destructive behavior in relationships, etc have repercussions just like the dark depressive side. So I’m grateful he’s so open about his experience with this often misunderstood condition, and able to depict it in a way that people can witness.

@@thespianoge I’m glad you were finally diagnosed! I know when I was, it was like a huge pressure had been released from my chest and I felt less guilty for being the way I am. Hope you are doing well!

@@wedonttalkaboutjuno3331 same! I went through my life for far too long thinking I was defective and had to work so much harder at life than anyone else. It was so freeing. It’s taken nearly 2 years and 11 different medications to figure out what’s just right for my body, but it’s life changing to feel what “normal” must be like for other people! I wish you luck with managing your symptoms and figuring out medication as well! (Don’t worry, my difficulty with long time experiments with meds is “highly unusual” as my psych said!)

@@thespianoge Luckily, or unluckily, my sister also was diagnosed with bipolar, so now we have like a buddy support group 😂 she’s sort of helped me keep my expectations realistic. I know not every medication is going to work, but luckily I think I’ve found something that helps.

So apparently I think there r different creations/characters beside Ian/Miot 👀. If u noticed there were 2 different voices speaking. I always enjoy this man’s visual artistic side and just witnessing his journey as an artist. so fun and such a cool ride. Can’t wait see the Mvs. And so glad to see which ever version it is with the one white eye tht look is just amazing

This album is so cool and comforting this film is so cool as well as album design

The DPR gang really went all out for this

This man imagination and artist is so unique and amazing, it gave me Crow, City of Angels vibe, mix with red plant , especially love the Nevada desert scenes. Favorite part is when he signs colors and he explodes into Phoenix of colors

Btw. There is an MV for ballroom extravaganza. It’s the MIITO Movie teaser.

I just love this entire project so much. The way both the album and it’s visual counterpart tell a story, the styling, the phenomenal editing and cinematic sound design, the choreography?! Like wow I wasn’t expecting that. Apparently this is part 1/3 so we still have two more of to go. I’m so extited! ^^
