Downtown: Kingston, Jamaica

#kingstonjamaica #downtownkingston #kingstonwaterfront
After doing a number of uptown, round-town and in-town videos, we finally make our way to Downtown Kingston. We explore a small section of downtown (that we were permitted to fly) to capture and showcase the beautiful and alluring views of this area; that is so rich in history and diversity. This area is also referred to as Kingston Waterfront and for good reasons.
This area gives a telescopic view of the Kingston Harbour, where its always windy and an ideal hang out spot overlooking the sea, as seagulls entertain with their fishing abilities. Across the ocean, is the Norman Manley International Airport and visitors anywhere along the stretch, can observe from the best vantage point, aircrafts landing and taking off soaring to various destinations.
Downtown Kingston is vibrant, energetic, active and always bursting with activities. We wanted to capture the more calmer side of downtown and we made our flight just after sunrise, before the town awakes and the sounds of music, chatter, vehicular traffic and horns blare the air.
Featured in this video are: the Grace Kennedy Building, Scotiabank Centre, Jamaica Stock Exchange, The Jamaica Conference Centre, the ROK Hotel, General Penitentiary (GP), just to name a few.

Well, not cards per se, but have been using word of mouth. However, one of the issue we have as a small channel is that viewers aren't subscribing. They'd watch our videos (and we're 100% certain that they're enjoying them as they are good quality and good production videos), but then they leave without subscribing to our channel 🤷🏽‍♂️. At the end of the day, that's how all channels grow, through subscriptions... hence we encourage the viewers, in all our videos to do so. Sorry for the lengthy response 🤭, but thank you for your interest. Please feel free to advocate on our behalf and share with as many persons as you can. Cheers!

I think one of the main priorities the Jamaican government should focus on is to relocate the General Penitentiary. I will never not believe that the GP is not a good look for such an important route from a major airport to a major city. Jamaica needs something more to be proud of on such a major highway rather than a massive jail complex

The push to go vertical should be high on the developmental stage for down town kingston the laws should change for down town kingston,it should now be said no less than ten stores high in that area if Kingston is to have a much more modern looks.

The slow development of downtown is due to the fact that there was so much violence in the surrounding inner-city areas and even in the immediate downtown area also ...this is the reason why new Kingston was developed because the business people were scared to go downtown and this diverted the future development plans for the area which were actually drawn up in the late fifties to early sixties....it is making a comeback presently but it's a very slow progress especially due to the fact that the negative stigma still exists and new Kingston is still a competitive option.....jamaica might be the only country in the world that has an optional business district in an otherwise uptown location....the leaders of the past ..late eighteen hundreds to early 1900s lacked the vision of value of what a vibrant metro capital is worth so they allowed the poor rural migrating population to settle in the surrounding environs and then it evolved into a large area of poor people trying to make their lives better and the end result is what we see today

DOWNTOWN KINGSTON JAMAICA. Downtown kingston is looking very beautiful with those buildings, but the road is too close to the ocean.I think there should be a thick tall sea wall build where the raod is, to proctect those buildings.I know some people want to see the view of the ocean, but if the water from the ocean over flows it going to damanage the whole downtown.I think the government should follow my advice and do something about it before its too late.
