I was so happy for Edith being the one that becomes "the Topper" so to speak...lol.

Absolutely wonderful series and movie. The brilliant writing, actors and plots are all first class. Can’t wait for the New Era movie. Great summary Jim and Phyllis. Now that new era is streaming Netflix I totally recommend it. Really well done.

I’m obsessed with this entire show and the film. Can’t wait to see the new one. I’ve watched all 6 seasons like 10 times 😂

Wonderful! My wife and I loved this series. We wish it was still on.

I’m not a fan of soap operas and this is in the genre; however, it’s more historical fiction. The actors are superb and play well developed characters. The story lines are honest and enticing. I’m a fan of this period of history as it is one of the most turbulent 20-30 years in the modern era. You have to see this series on Netflix. I’ve seen it three times and wait eagerly for the movie. I’d like to see the series updated to the WWII period. Love the Dowager; she’s great.!

I could listen to these two recap the entire series!!! Can't wait for the new movie....

Fellowes may have milked this era dry, but left us wondering if another series on the life of Violet Crawley might yet happen and boy were we teased about it.

What a delightful summation of all we've watched. Can't wait for the movie!!!

This show pulls at my heart strings

I just found Downton Abbey. It is sooo amazingly good! It is as amazing as Pride and Prejudice.

My husband took me on a movie and dinner date Sunday afternoon. The movie was the NEW ERA! It was wonderful and it is a tear jerker. I'm going to binge the series and first movie all over again!

Downtown is pure escapism.

i cant believe i cried during Barrow's narration.

I cannot wait for the new movie to come to the US it was supposed to be here a while ago but now it's not going to be here till May 18th! Cannot wait I'm obsessed with Downton Abbey!

Pharaoh was earlier in the series, Isis was later. Pharaoh was introduced before the war and Isis after. This show goes from 1912-1927. It’s possible Pharaoh died and Isis was the second lab.

His dog at the start of the series is called Pharoah, but each series jumps ahead in time by several years at a time, and there was an update to a new pup called Isis, and later again to one called Tiia. All terribly important😉

Isis was actually the dogs name but excellent recap

It actually was Pharaoh in the first season, and Isis took over from season 2. They are different dogs.

Great recap, narrated with all the wit we have come to expect from Downton. Just two things...the first movie wasn't summarised here and the dog's name wasn't Pharaoh. Lord Grantham's dogs are all female named after Egyptian goddesses. I think the original dog was called Isis. Then there was a plot line involving her demise and a new dog being introduced.

I would LOVE to see the new movie, Downton Abby The New Era, made into a new TV series!! Can I get a vote on that?

In season 2 through 5 the dog was Isis. Season 1 had Pharoah. There was a 3-year time jump between season 1 and 2 so we are to assume Pharoah died. The real truth is the male dog they used as 'Pharoah did not get along with the Highclere Castle resident male dog. So, he was replaced with a female dog.

Did he say the dog’s name was “Pharaoh”? I thought it was Isis! 😗

In the first season, the dogs name was Pharaoh. Isis is the dog in season two.

No, the male dog was replaced with a female dog from season one in season 2. the first dog did not get along with Lord and Lady Carnavan's dog.

I love both films and every series. It is so hilarious that they feel the need to change the name of Lord Grantham's first dog to Pharaoh instead of Isis strangely enough possibly for political reasons. Not necessary. We all know the dog and it is still included in all the early episodes . Nevertheless I ABOSLUTELY LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF DOWNTON ABBEY IN ALL ITS FORMS. THANK YOU ALL FOR MY JOY.

I hated O'Brien and was glad to see her go. I wish they had kicked Barrow to the curb as well.
