I had a long talk with my buddy Kyle about our game collections and he told me he decided to downsize a lot of it. This was sad for me to hear but I totally understood where he was coming from.

Personally I only buy games I intend to play so while my collection has gotten bigger over the years I don't intend to downsize my collection because they're all games I care about.

I am the same. Only buy games that I have an intrest in playing. My PS3 collection is really small because I didn't get one until that generation was done... well I guess that's not 100% true but is a boring story... So my main console that generation was the 360 and with most cross platform games running better on the 360, that's where the bulk of my games for that gen are. I have not counted but my PS3 'collection' has to be between 10 and 15 games (I just remembered they are on the computer desk at the mo, its 12). 3 of those being Uncharted and another 3 being Resistance. For what it's worth. I'm not finished picking up games for the PS3. As it stands its a great time to pick up PS3 games. You can get a lot of game for very little money.

@@PicksterTG Man, I'm doing the exactly same thing...! I'm Brazilian and live in Japan, here, PS3 and games are cheap, and I decided to collect the PS3 exclusives, because I spent my time last gen, buying and playing in the X360 and PC. Maybe I'm little more ambitious than you, because I'm getting almost all PS3 exclusives. I still prefere MS exclusives, but is nice to have most of exclusives for both platforms. My PS3 collection includes the 3 Resistance, the 3 Uncharted, the 3 Killzone (Killzone 1 was remastered for PS3), the God of War Collection (with Gow 1, 2, 3, Chain of Olimpus and Ghost of Sparta via download), Gow Ascension, Catherine, Heavy Rain, Beyond, The Last of Us, Motorstorm trilogy, Dragon's Crown, 3d dot game Heroes, and the list goes on (I'm buying remasterd collections too, I picked up the Team Ico collection).

same here. I don't even really like buying games that I'm not sure if I would enjoy or not. I make sure every game I buy is something I would see myself liking and even then I read reviews and such before buying. I just really don't want any dust collectors in my library of games and don't want to waste money either. I don't do retro as of right now I just collect for the Switch. it's tough spending upwards of $60-$70 on a single game, so I'm very careful with my choices.

@@PicksterTG Same! I got my PS3 very late and have about 10 games for it. I'm glad I've held onto them because while I'd love to play some of those games on the PS4, classes sure ain't cheap but the games on PS3 were a steal. KH 1.5 and 2.5 were about $10 each for instance. I bought 10 games for under $100. Maybe someday I'll replay them on the PS4 but having more money left over is worth it.

Same here. I never buy games that I won't play. My collections are made up of games i owned before or games that I have played and liked. A lot of them are rare anyways but thats not why I bought or collected my games.
I completely understand where your coming from about 3 years ago I sold almost my entire collection. I said I’ll sell them and let someone else enjoy them. now my rule is if I don’t play it within a year it’s gone.
I think the bragging rights comes from saying "Yes, I have played all of these games in my collection", of "all these games mean something to me personally".
That intro thooooo. Killin it Reggie always keep improving and they will come! Have a good week my dude
Love the new into, nice to see your channel grow and evolve
Reg ur such a cool dude. I appreciate the way you enjoy your games and the passion for the good ones.
that intro is fantastic man!
Thanks Reggie for this video what a great topic to discuss! I relate to this so much. I recently have been thinking about what to do with my collection and what I've decided to do is this year I'm not going to buy any new video games. I'm only going to play games from my back log. Thanks again Reggie!
Great video reggie, just the video I was looking for !
Such a good video Reggie. When I started collecting again about 2 years ago I wanted everything for any system. Now I’m focusing on collecting just what I really enjoy and will play. Finally realizing I don’t need complete collections of everything. Being a true gamer means playing the games you own, not just collecting them on a shelf.

Happy to hear that man. I've learned this lesson early on as child without a lot of games. My mom would tell me & my sister her budget for Xmas or our Birthday & took us shopping to pick out what we wanted exactly. It taught me to be more selective in games I was actually interested in & led me to pick games I deemed worthy of my time To this day I still have my Nintendo Wii Mario Party 4 Animal Crossing Super Smash Melee SSX Tricky Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup The non-lego Harry Potter 1-6 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 Mario Party 8 ^ I've poured my entire childhood into these games - I had a few other games I didn't mention because I sold them off because they weren't worth keeping around To this day it's very hard for me to branch out of my comfort zone for video games, but they're all games I enjoy. Nintendo Switch Super Mario Party Super Smash Bros: Ultimate Animal Crossing: New Horizons Super Mario 3D All Stars Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 Pokemon: Let's Go Pika / Eve / BDSP / SW & SH Luigi's Mansion 3 - I've never got to play the original or dark moon Diablo 3 3DS Pokemon Yellow / HGSS / ORAS / XY / USM
I like your outlook on gaming dude, you just love gaming. The way you look at gaming is exactly how i feel. Stay radical dude!
I've had to downsize the collection a couple of times in the past and always for "the greater good" when times got tough. Every single time I regretted it too. I absolutely do not have the time needed to get to the games we have, but I certainly have every intention after our daughter has grown and is taking care of herself and maybe when we're getting to the point where we don't feel the need to get out and about so much. I will say that though I don't get as much play time with the games as I'd like, we have an absolute blast with them being available when friends come over and get to revisit their pasts. I think there are absolute pros to downsizing a collection. And I think there's sometimes more to the story when it seems like somebody is just racking up shelf candy. Good share here Reggie!!
Great advice as always Reggie love your content from the UK 🇬🇧 👍 keep up the good work
I love your new intro Reggie. I feel you I think of getting rid of some things too. But maybe once I get a house I will enjoy my collection more.

Thanks Radical Reggie. Words of wisdom. I was feeling flustered myself so I started selling off my amiibo collection. I feel no regret. And soon my pops are next. They where taking up so much reality in my small room of doom.
Intro's on point man good work!!! On a side note, time to start sending you games to counteract the downsize 😂😂
Love the intro man, this is why I do mostly digital now lol
Great video Reggie!
Is it weird that I felt like the only one who thought the same way you do? Haha! I love the new intro by the way!
If this is the new official intro Reggie, I like it
Totally get where you are coming from. There is some stuff I want, because I simply want it in my collection, even if I wont play it much. There are others that I have which i will likely never play and will probably eventually get rid of to make room for things I do want, like that cool American McGee Alice figure you have in the background that I didn't know existed until this video!
A little tip that helps me. I don't play a game rushed to get to something else. I play what I feel like when I want. Most games have save points so I save and move to something else when I have that itch. I will circle back around to that game at some point. That way it's always fresh and fun.
Bro love the new intro!! Awesome video 👍
Love the intro, man!

Some games (most games) you're just not going to get anything from selling them. Better off keeping them in good hands if they aren't worth much.

what if you're like the youtuber "last gamer" though? LOL. that guy is wild...he had to build a new house (a mansion basically) to store his games......he has like 10-15 massive rooms that are all stocked up like videogame stores...and his own in-home arcade plaza with like 50~ machines in it. also has 5-8? full blown simulator setups. last I heard (a year ago) he had 50 thousand+ games and multiples of every console ever made pretty much. he has contacts at sega, nintendo, etc etc who help him obtain extremely rare games. he holds the record for the biggest videogame collection on earth and also the record for most expensive single game (some 1/2 game worth 1 million dollars and I believe the only other copy to exist was destroyed so it's basically a 1/1 game now) he seems like a good honest guy but he claims his main income is restoring then selling pinball machines...how do you get multi millions selling pinball machines....

Another great Rad Reg video. I have many games (A ton of them are digital). I've never been patient enough to count my physical games. I just wish I had time to play more. As a working father that's a tall order though.
You make a very good point about downsizing on stuff you don't often play and collect dust for!
Congrats on your cool day Reggie! Hope it goes well.
Awesome intro Reggie!!! :)
Great video Reggie
I've done this to my movies, it feels weird at first but its better in the long run. Tastes change over time.
Golf Story was surprisingly so much fun, I wouldnt call it a RPG as many people are calling it, but still a great little indie game I put 18 hours into the main story to beat.
I never have time to play 90% of my collection... I love looking at them on the walls but I've considered downsizing.. The risks and stress related to selling games is too high for me to bother... Plus I don't know if I'd be able to actually let things go. Great topic REGGIE! Love when you hit on things like this.

the new intro amazing ,,,plz continue ,,
I hear you on this. I want to downsize my collection, sometimes drastically, but I worry I would regret some of my choices. So for now I'm looking for duplicates and fluff
Wonderful video reggie. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment so i have to prioritize my collection. I sold my CIB sega CD and games because it took up a massive amount of shelf space. I also got rid of about 40 ps2 games. My motto is if i havent played a game in 6 months (or have no intent to ever replay it) then it gets traded.
@funkybuddha5604

6 months? What if you change your mind and get the time to play that game? I've had games sitting around for years then eventually got to play them and enjoy them. A CD and a manual takes up so little space, just throw away the plastic cases and keep the games in a storage case.

So now I've got new found love for my DS. Wanna play it more. So yeh there are people that watch your long vids, gd company having my tablet on with yo channel, great stuff m8!!!!!!! PEACE
Great video Reggie!❤ The game you were thinking of was Cubivore if I'm not mistaken.
Reggie is so chill
I 100% agree for the most part. I've downsides most of my games, particularly the ones I no longer play. At this point, they mostly just take up space. I also think with the rise of mini consoles, there are much easier and affordable ways to play some of our favorite games.
This is a very interesting topic that should be discussed more. Especially as us collectors are now more likely to be in our 30s or 40s versus our teens or 20s. We now have careers, families and responsibilities. Do we really need to have large collections now that we are hardly going to play any more?
Thanks Reggie, makes me feel better for getting rid of one of my systems
Great vid! Cubivore for GC was the title you were thinking of. Atlus title of course :)
Dig the new intro a lot
All killer no filler!!!!!!
Good video im thinking about downsizing my 360 collection
I think the most interesting stuff comes at the end, when you say you want the Spider-Man game to be over since you've got so much other games to play. For me, when I think about my collection, there are feelings of pressure, guilt and a feeling of paralyzation from the overchoice.
@robertlatham4541

This comment is me all over. Self inflicted stress when games are supposed to be entertainment, it should be a chill out zone not a situation of guilt.
Crazy, I was thinking about this subject on my way to work this morning. I have a lot of stuff that I just don’t have time to play.
100% right. I’m the same way, I wanted to play a lot of games, but ended up with a collection. I downsized once but then ended up buying most of them back later on. No regrets.
Good advice, personally I keep my game collection concise to the point where each title should get equal love and attention.
Great video Reggie a lot of people have video game collection and they never even beat 10% of the games they have me every game I play i try to beat it the latest game I beat was Castlevania for Sega Genesis and that was the first time I played that game It took a few days
I downsized my ps3 collection the most, just because of time to play any of them. Just too many other games had me more interested. Now I regret selling not all, but a good chunk of them. But the reality is I would need three more lives to be able to say I have played every game I own. So in retrospect it made me sad I did it, but it was the right decision. Love ur videos man!

Hello beautiful 🤩
Amen, I'm ready to do the same thing. House cleaning must happen.
I like the music from your original intro, now only outro.
I agree with you Reggie. I had a N64 with Majora's Mask but I never really liked N64 at all. I got rid of it and grabbed a PS2 fat instead and I 'm really glad about that. It's better to give away stuff you are never gonna touch again than just owning them. Nice vid as always. Take care! 😉😄
At this time last year I was working on collecting the entire North American og Xbox library as well as collecting for other systems. All told I had close to 2500 games across multiple systems. Right now I own around 400 games total, and I am fine with that. Collecting for bragging rights is stupid, and that is what I was doing. I was spending money I did not have to crap up my life with shit I did not need, and one morning I woke up and was just...done. All games, for me, have to meet one condition for me to buy, and that is simply if I intend to play them. If so, I keep or buy, otherwise I don't. Life is about experiences, not the shit you own. I know nothing anyone owns impresses me, and I am sure that goes both ways. I salute you for downsizing, RR. I had friends hollering about how I'd regret giving up my stash, and they were dead wrong. No regrets at all. Buy to play, folks. Like Reggie says in so many words, if you are buying just to buy, you're in it for the wrong reason.
Sad that the bulk of my ps1&2 collection some 500+ games are in boxes, I just don't have the space to display them all. P.s. that new intro is sweet!
My thing is avoiding the NEED to collect everything. I tend to get hooked on a console and then buy, buy, buy and then a few months or a year later, I wonder why I bought a lot of this stuff. Also the space thing and moving around (like you mentioned in the video - stuff in totes, etc), its freeing in a way to trim the fat off the collection. It also helps to cut yourself loose from the whole limited print run stuff going on now (or at least be more selective with those titles coming out from the various boutique vendors) Lately I've drilled down to a couple of thematic collections: My ongoing hockey game collection spanning all consoles/regions and my PSVR collection. The only new console I buy regularly for otherwise is the Switch. I'm satisfied with that.
Nice new intro!
I feel you, I only collect games I know im gonna play. Im sure y'alls back list is crazy too. Couldn't ever finish anything because i have so many others to play. It is a little depressing
that intro tune...we need a hero!
Its good to share games like that, if people can sell the games then hopefully it goes to somebody who plays and enjoys them.
That intro! I need a hero too!
Gonna watch this later;) something I definitely need to do😅
Best way to downsize without regret is to sell them off slowly. If you want to sell a game, and a week later you still want to sell it, probably safe to let go without regrets. I put games I want to sell in a pile, and the next week I go through and remove any I changed my mind on. Just my thoughts
I downsized a lot of my stuff.
That outro song makes me think about I like them big I like them chunky chunky...lol 👍
Man listen for that beat drop in the video it’s fire 🔥
Cool new intro. woo hoo.
Hey Reggie! What shooter are you playing in the background?
I recently did exactly this took a good hard look at my collection and realized it was really random but i am a big Xbox fan so i started focusing on that. I took some of my smaller random collections. Wii U i had 3-4 games i had picked up cheap but didnt even own the system i was able to swap those for things i needed on xbox. All My sega stuff (Mostly common Genesis) is up next as i was always a nintendo kid so going to bundle that all up and see if i can get a few more for my SNES collections or Xbox whatever i can find.
Glad I picked up sweet home at launch. It's a good game. When it's in a tote or packed up you also can forget exactly what you have. Atleast I have.
I hold on to a lot of games and leave them on the shelf kind of like photographs in a photo album. It's nice to see them there and reflect on the memory, but most of them I'll likely never replay. I just can't be bothered to start selling yet. Speaking of people getting tricked though, have you been paying attention to the value of Katamari Re-roll on switch? It only came out last month and it's already trending for almost 100 bucks. The game only released for 30. I'm anticipating gamestop will make another print within the next 3 months. Unfortunately.. they'll sell that print as "Used" so they can charge more for it now but.. whatever. Fools and their money are easily parted right? Best you can do is try to steer people right. Keep it radical dude!
You and Happy Console Gamer are some of the few gamers on KZread I know for a fact play many of the games you have and collect for the right reason.
I downsized from a massive amount of stuff that caused alot of anxiety to sell off... But looking back I have no regrets this past year. I switched to PC and alot of emulation. But I still kept alot of stuff I play and plan on passing down to my kid when he is old enough to enjoy...whatever he doesn't like he'll have my blessing to sell them. Approximately had 1500 or so games and consoles.... Now down to roughly 300games and a console for each category. Fits nicely on two shelves... Has a healthy feel and I am happy with what I kept. Plus it's easy to pack up ( if need be ). I invested alot of the profits and made a pretty good return this far for retirement purposes towards the future.
I have regrets selling some games and getting rid of cases just to make room. I'm going to share with everyone that works for me. And that's taking out any CD game, X box, ps1, ps2, ps3, PC, and storing them in one of those CD binders that holds hundreds of CDs. Then I'll store the actual game cases away. Saves so much room. I'm trying to find an ultimate emulator machine so I can store away my old game systems. They are too bulky and too much wires and plugs lol. So far I'm ok with room. There are games I played like one time only. At the moment, I almost exclusively play skyrim and madden 15. I love skyrim because with every character I make, I give them a back story. I plan on writing a novel based on fantasy with elves orcs and all that. I play madden because I love the game of football. I make athletes for all teams, so not just my own team. Makes it way more interesting. Just wish I could create my own teams. With madden 12 I made all new 32 teams. But I don't like madden 12 but kept it for being the last one to make your own team. That's basically what I do. With working practically all day 6 days a week, I don't have much time to play games like I did when I was a kid. Game on my fellow gamers!
I've got a small book shelf full of games. About 100. That's good enough for me.
Glad to see GG Aleste 2 get some love.
So many of us have more games than we'll have time to play through in our lifetimes. It does become like an addiction. They say you can't take the with you when you die, but I'll damn sure try. Lol.

OK which video was that Steambot Chronicles unboxing from??? And sick intro
I'm with you man. I got rid of NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, TG16 collections. Pretty much all of the cart based games. I went with everdrives and sticking to disc based games and systems.
This has been on my mind for awhile. I didn't consider myself a collector at first because like you I just never got rid of any of my games that I had as a kid because I enjoyed what I had and i spent my own hard earned grass mowing money on. But once the actual collector bug bit me and i was actively and intentionally buying up games to just buy them since i was finding them for cheap at thrift stores and fleamarkets i ended up with a huge collection of stuff i'm not playing. So this past week I forced myself to go through my collection and pull A LOT of filler and other titles that I'm not going to play to sell towards games I actually want. A lot of this is just a vice we use to inflate our ego and boost our self esteem. Collecting is a slippery slope to hoarding. For myself personally I realized that I wasn't dealing with my depression and OCD and in result resorted to collecting to fill that bottomless hole. Anyways, like you said... It's not healthy having all this material stuff just sitting around collecting dust. Great video Reggie.
