Downsizing my EDC... a little

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I've been wearing this Roaring Fire Smolder (NOT Ember) pouch for just over a week now and it is much more comfortable with the bag being thinner. Several items in my EDC pack are novelty items that could easily be replaced with something just as good but cheaper. But, this definitely makes for a one-of-a-kind EDC pack.

Something that gets left out of a lot of EDC kits - cash. You never know when a card reader will be out, or you want to get a snack from a vending machine that doesn't take cards.

16:17 - dont worry, we alls put things in our edc kits are cool>functional anyway haha. Like, I have a laser in mine with the justification that it can burn things. Meanwhile a lighter would be far more reliable and effective. I also have a small prybar that is super cool, but in reality it cant do much more than the flathead on most multitools. Then of course, realistically anyone with common sense would actually pack and prepare before going camping or whatever, but hey, we all like to channel our inner james bond sometimes!

I don't think carrying a $90 pen versus carrying a Bic is going to be the deciding factor of me getting mugged. Nice EDC! You could - for very emergency use - replace the turnique with some paracord (or shockcord), using one of the longer items as turning-handle; aka "add some cord" Also love the knippex, very use- and powerfull tool (you can give torque on that, one wouldn't believe it) The Olight Nano is already delivery. Couldn't resist. Hope it will match the expecations :) Sadly both items are only in tha rucksack-EDC, since people over here started giving me sidelooks when they've seen my EDC on the belt (not very big; Swiza TT05, I5E, allergy- and headache-pills, some first-aid- stuff (bandaids aso) - nothing bulky, nothing "dangerous"); it's crazy how paranoid people get over here, but not against "those who lead the statistics" but against the natives... (sorry i hike at the local "hill" without giant backbag i guess?? The world's gone FUBAR)

“Rubbing against each other”?? My man. You’ve gotta get some mojo on your tools. I can practically smell the packaging through youtube! Don’t get me wrong. Excellent choices. Very competent EDC kit. Definite style points for color choice & harkening back to waxed canvas 👍🏼 BUT tools are made to -make. To repair. To get your nails dirty. Knuckles skinned. Tools get “alive” status from projects completed. Problems solved. Frustration vanquished on unfamiliar aisles in Home Depot. Tools get their badassness from macking them up. Muffing them up. Then cleaning them. Sharpening. Tightening. Lubricating. Your tools look like they smell like a summer fragrance men’s body spray. But they want to smell like cut pine. Gasoline. Solder. 3 in 1 Oil. And WD-40. Anyhow excellent video. Nice work

This man makes some of the most awesome custom SAKs. He knows what tools are for. He grinds and modifies spring bars, polishes liners, and repins SAKS. At the same time... he is into restoration and building new tools. He needs the mindset to keep things neat, organized, and clean for his projects. this mindset can carry over to one's everyday life. (Or his meticulous mindset carried over to his custom work.) Just because you want to leave your tools manky with sap, oil, paint or let them clink together and get scuffed and banged up... doesn't mean he needs to.
