My takeaway from this is that Band Maid looked really happy and for the most part everyone else looked bloody miserable / grim. It's hardly surprising Band Maid fans fall in love with everything about them.

Was fantastic seeing Band-Maid stage and looking so happy! Can't wait until they eventually do another European tour. (I doubt Band-Maid would want to see people throwing shade on other bands - who didn't look miserable in my view - in their name.)

Early or not, it's a big honor to be the ONLY Japanese band that was invited to perform. And opening the festival is also a nod to their talent and professionalism. My thoughts after reading through the comments: Metalheads appreciate hard-hitting, well written and performed authentic music, and that's the heart and soul of Band-Maid. As a fairly hardcore metalhead who used to be elitist, BAND-MAID definitely fits well enough. It's great to see them perform in front of an audience again.

Tom very well thought out comment . Being older than many I have been the metal route over the years . When I began to discover rock and metal from Japan many years ago I was taken by how professional the musicians are . The vocals style of both male and female singers took me a bit more time . Then came Band-Maid . all boxes were checked off . Vocals excellent , everything else check , check and check . Band-Maid has not met a genre that does not fit there style . Chase Carneson said first .... Band Maid doing doing Band Maid things ... Seeing them in Dallas ...

@@reesereese2524 Awesome you're seeing them this tour. When I saw them it was the best sounding concert I've been to, not to mention the love and respect of the fans and the Maids stellar performance and songs. You'll have a blast!

It was great to see Band-Maid in this video recap. They looked like they had so much fun! However, it's a shame I heard that they opened the gates so late that many people got stuck in queues outside while they started playing. Also, I do think that more Japanese bands could have been featured in this festival.

Let's not do this please. We are better than shoving down other bands. Yes BAND-MAID is BAND-MAID, but these other acts are respectable in their own right. I listen to most of these bands, and they are all solid.

I like "Transcending Time", too. This song is reminiscent of catchy progressive rock of the 1980s, such as YES and ASIA.

I'm here for band-maid. I'm French Canadian and follow this band since 2014. I got my tickets for Boston. Sorry for this show is sold-out ! I already saw Steel Panther, i know Dreams theater. But Akane , Misa, Kanami, Saiki and Miku are on my top list of the best band!

I'm just here for the Band-Maid pile on! Honestly, how could a metal festival in Japan only have one Japanese band and then relegate them to the opening act?

My former favorite band Dream Theater was the headliner, my favorite band of all times Band-Maid was the opening band. I've would rather have it the other way around. Band-Maid are the future of rock and roll for sure. Great to see them yet again soooo happy on stage, I love Band-Maid, for ever.

@@Running-withscissors its not really that odd, japanese people get the chance to see japanese bands all the time because they live in Japan, they do however not get to see western bands that often. And download is an international festival from the west at the end of the day.

Nothing against the other bands, but when I look at the age of those who were on stage, I am glad to see that young, fresh and hungry blood in the form of Band-Maid was also part of this festival. The future of this music is in good hands. 🤘🏻 But criticism has to be: a big no-no for the festival management for sending the only local band on stage early, while a huge part of the audience is still waiting outside the gates to get in. I like how this video was edited. BandMaid shows up right when the music intensifies. It’s great that the ladies got to open for this festival. Hope they got some nice exposure here.

パフォーマンス自体はよかったものの、オーディエンスがほとんど入場していなかったこともあり、正直言って、現場での存在感は他のバンドと比べて弱かったように思いますが、このBAND-MAIDに関するコメント、特に外国の方からと思われる多くのコメントを見て、主催者の方々は驚いているのではないでしょうか。次回、開催されるときには、フェスでの位置づけも変わってくるのでは？

It must have been a relief to be back in front of an audience. I do hope Band Maid didn't see the cavorting ladies in beach wear on poles. I mean the best rock band in the World mixing with a bunch of old men and dancing women is one thing. But poles is a different thing entirely.

😂I bet BAND-MAID love Steel Panther. They are a great band with a great sense of humor. You just need to learn to not be so offended. Steel Panther is a joke about the excess and raunchiness of the hair metal 80s but taken to 11. I am really happy to see BAND-MAID in front of an audience again tho. I can't wait until Nov 1.

I get being upset about not being able to see/missing Band-maid because 15 minutes from doors open to opening act is not enough time in a building that can hold over 10 thousand people. One delay would fuck everything up. Let's look at this logically. No way should Band-Maid get higher billing over The Halo Effect, Bullet for my Valentine (who I absolutely despise), At The Gates (who aren't bad), Steel Panther, Mastodon, Code Orange (who i'm apathetic to), Soulfly and especially not Dream Theater despite what their superfans think. They aren't at that level yet.

it's all full of western comments angry their little japanese band didn't headline a festival they weren't even supposed to be in. Compared to that, the japanese comments are actually very appreciating of the whole festival and especially to the other bands that headlined the show
