So I always think it's the coolest thing that Tears For Fears songs are all super happy sounding, but really dark lyrically. Any covers of their songs are almost always much darker because of this. I think the irony of this video is amazing.

The Hurting era of the band is their darkest material imo. Their early music was haunting.
"Down With The Sickness" is a song by nu wave group Tears for Fears recorded in 1983. Although the original masters were lost, making original recordings extremely rare, the song became well known after it was covered by the nu metal band Disturbed in 2000. In 2020, Anthony Vincent released a tribute version that was more faithful to the original recording [citation needed]

Im sorry but thats not a valid reason for why this song should be covered in Tears for Fears. If u look at disturbed version of shout the sonh they covered it just works because it stays true to the style of disturbed, if u start flinging in synths and 80s drum beats it slows the whole song down making the lyrics sound off at some points and out of tone, this doesn't work in my opinion, I feel people are almost tone deaf, yeah it works during the build up of the song but soon quickly dies before the drop, no energy in the beat, i personaly feel the community made a horrible mistake, by not bringing anything new to listeners ears, and basically just ruining sickness. Additionally if somthing is rare its best kept that way.

Corey S...Have you seen the original Genesis version of LAND OF CONFUSION? It's an 80'S song from back when MTV was awesome and was all about the music videos...It was quite poinent then and sadly some of history repeats itself if we don't always live and learn...ALSO, on the other parts of history that repeatS itself is just because it was such an awesome thing to begin with and we want to recreate that magic. 😎...So, it all depends...But with message of LAND OF CONFUSION , it means as much as in the 80'S because we are a relatively young country (America...the original version of LAND OF CONFUSION and the video plays off of how America was affecting the world at the time, which gives it a specific, but world minded meaning)...America is relatively young compared to the rest of the world and thus the world has had eons of trial and error, America has not...With anything and anyone though, we are all individuals and NOTHING and NO ONE can always progress at the same rate, no matter how long you have, you are going to progress and understand something when THE INDIVIDUAL progresses and understandS something...In working together with worldS, societies, laws, rules, timeframes...we have to understand we are still working together with people, individuals and even though we want everyone to just fall in line and understand and learn the first time round...we are still working with individuals, each with their own point of view, meathod of personal understanding and thoughts...The way to measure society and progress is not by the whole, but by the individuals working as a whole and taking into account we are all individuals...So, that'S why there are times that history repeats itself...cause we are all processing our understanding of the matter at different, individual rates...I don't know! Just my opinion on the matter. 😎

-Belue- I remember seeing the video when it first aired. It used puppets from a British TV show called Spitting Image. MTV, VH1, MuchMusic up here in Canada. Making TV programs is expensive. Its easier to maximize profits when you cheap out on production values.

Don't feel bad, I've been going hard for days
3:38 when you press L2 and R2 in Death Stranding
You really embodied Tears for Fears in this and I really like that you can still tell what song it is despite that. A truly perfect mix of the two. Amazing job as always. Going to be listening to this on repeat. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh fuck. . . 4 am and stumbled on to this gem. . I mean fuck really. This can literally be a real TEARS hit. I'm dying here. And he has fun with the videos. I'm laughing and yet jamming. This is so freaking gnarly and genius. You rock sir!
Dang, this is outstanding! Truly inspired.
Now I can listen to this back to back with Disturbed's cover of Shout!
That "WTF AM I Doing Smirk" at 4:04... True Character Showing Through... Keep at this Your Channel always rocks
This sounds like very early Tears for Fears. Mad World is the song it makes me think of. Roland Orzabl took a major step forward as a songwriter with "The Seeds of Love" and "Elemental" but no one bought those albums.
Imma just wait till Kojima puts this in his next game.
