They do this all the time.. have a heartfelt story and then give it an out of pocket title
A few facts for those who are condemning Netflix aboht the title and subject. It was made by Attitude TV, not Netflix. They make programmes for and about people with disabilities so they can see themselves represented on tv, just like other people. My son was on the show and loved it, as did the other participants who got a chance to try dating when many of them hadn't previously had an oportunity to do so. The name is simply a play on words and doesn't belittle the participants in any way. Take a look at it - its a charming series.

I mean, nothing wrong with a play on words for Down syndrome. Acknowledging reality shouldn't be controversial.... Exploiting those people for money and viewership by tugging at the heart-strings of the normies who aren't yet aware that the disabled community is going to be the new worshipped and coddled class idolized by the cry-bully outrage mob (to replace trans people, as gays, blacks, and women were replaced before them) in order to push agendas and legislation onto people that goes against the country's best interests on the other hand.... low-key wrong, agreed.

Downs children are so beautiful. What wonderful people.
I’m not saying what other people do in their dating lives isn’t “pure”, but I think this series is *so* pure that it should be shown in secondary schools to educate young people on what Love *could* be. But I think *most* people that don’t have these difficulties *begin* approaching things with that level of “romanticism”, and then over time they get hurt and tend to become a bit *cynical* about it all. Perhaps if you look at it like - “that’s how it’s supposed to be” as sort of a *romantic baseline,* it might restore your *confidence* in the *merits* of romance *generally.* Even the date ideas were epic, eg. Libby & Damian’s romantic cruise along the harbour, some genuine *romantic thought* was put into it and I think *that’s* what makes both parties feel *even more* special when they’re in each other’s company. There’s some great “tidbits” in there, eg. *treating* them like a princess, *and* prince because it should always go both ways, *looking* into their eyes and *feeling* it in your heart, they “mess” with your mind, ie. make your head “spin” *in a good way,* and heaps of other stuff. Even Jesse that doesn’t want to have kids, you’d think that’s a negative but I think *one* of his concerns could be that he’s worried about passing on the same difficulty to his kids. He should know it doesn’t *automatically* happen that way, and even if it *does* happen they can still Live a meaningful & fulfilling Life. Libby & Damian connected on both their fathers having left them at a young age, and not because there’s anything “wrong” with them as individuals but for whatever reasons are particular to the fathers, but that’s the sort of *mutual pain* a couple can really *bond* over. Also, it’s not “pure” *just* because they don’t discuss sex openly like some people. One outgoing fellow named Josh is *quite enthusiastic* about the more amorous aspects of romance *without* being lewd about it, and *rightfully so* because even if you have a difficulty you still want to *“get to it”* the same as other people. But he also has enough *emotional sensitivity* to know that if the woman is not keen on moving fast he will need to *wind things back* to go at *her* pace rather than his. So I think it’s the fact they’re just so *uncorrupted* by it all, they’re not interested in *manipulating* people to get what they want in a *one-sided* way at the emotional *expense* of others. They still see the *value* in everlasting romance and the *magic* in all things Love, *and therefore* are looking for something far deeper than *just* a sexual relationship. On his date with Hayley, Josh says “I Love her smile” - I think that’s as *pure as it gets* to be honest. Ultimately, Hayley decided they didn’t match up, and probably because they’re just *too* different in their *genuine interests* rather than any defects in being, but Josh didn’t let that get him down. And that’s the amazing thing about such people, they don’t seem to let things get them *perpetually* down, despite having Down Syndrome. And it’s not because they’re *perpetually* optimistic either, I think it’s just that they are optimistic *enough* to always get back up from any setback. I’m not entirely sure how they have this degree of optimism despite the difficulties they face in Life, but regardless of whether people have difficulties or not, I think you should *know your worth* and ensure you’re not willing to *compromise* on how you should be *treated* by others for the sake of *anything.* However, across the *entire* dating-spectrum there seems to be an *expectation* on the part of women out there to be “swept off your feet”, to feel “butterflies in your stomach”, and so forth. In my opinion, that only happens in “fantasy-land”, ie. movies & fairytales, I think the whole concept of “Love at first sight” is a bit *unrealistic,* because you don’t *know* anything about them. I think people need to *wind all of this back* and be a bit more *realistic* about things, upon initial interaction just see whether there is *something* about them that “catches your eye”. Then once you dig a bit deeper, ask yourself do you actually *like* this person, do they have at least *some* of the qualities you’re looking for, is there something there you can *build* upon etc. Then as you spend more & more *time* together - you might start feeling those butterflies in your stomach, or wherever. I think that swept off her feet feeling is directly tied to a woman’s sense of self-worth, and *maybe* the women who have *less* self-worth probably want to be *more* swept off their feet, but as above you really have to wind that back to a *realistic* level to not expect *too* much *too* soon. Also, I think you’re much more likely to be swept off your feet if you have a very pure mind that is *open to romance,* but you have to let go of that *cynicism.* I think the fact that women are financially non-dependent also makes this more difficult because it’s like *nothing* you can do can ever satisfy them. If you come from a poor background in a society that is struggling, you can pick a flower to give to the woman you Love, and *assuming* your emotionally sensitive - she will *cherish* both it *and* you. But what can you give a woman that earns $100,000 a year or whatever in a developed society, I’m not entirely sure and I don’t know how to remedy this “romantic deficit” yet. Actually you know what, the *right* girl, who *believes* in Love, and has a very *pure* mind, *would* probably cherish a picked flower, *even if* she were Queen of Heaven on Earth.

You should find a way to meet some people with Down syndrome in real life . Obviously you won’t get along with everyone with Down syndrome, because they are individuals . But you’d likely find that most of them are wonderful people to spend time with, Seriously , I haven’t so much recently , but all through school I would volunteer to help kids with disabilities , and then into my first job, I spent a lot of time closely working with some disable people who were hired through a work placement program. It’s very fulfilling to have friends with different abilities than yourself .

I loved this show so much. I only see 5 episodes on Netflix and I hope they add more. For those who haven’t watched or don’t know much about DS in general, it is a syndrome in which a person displays a number of characteristics due to having an extra chromosome. Only one of those traits is a challenged IQ. There are so many other traits that are truely special, such as having a higher propensity for joy and empathy. Seeing two people experience romantic love for the first time when they were actually made to love better than everyone else is remarkable. Bonus: we also get to see how their friends, family, and everyone who works on the show are just better people for being around them. I love this show and want to find others like It since there are only 5 episodes!

You mean the people on the show with Down syndrome, who named it?
Hermoso!!!
This show is so sweet and so pure. No BS drama just ppl looking for sweet honest companion for their life.
“But using buttplugs, to fit in? I’m too smart for that.”- Corky, probably.
I would love to see an update on the people who were cast for this show. I really enjoyed watching this show! It’s so pure and it made me see people with Down syndrome differently. It showed how people can approach love and dating in a different aspect. It was such a sweet show. I liked how they were honest if they weren’t interested. I mean this show had so many lessons.
My heart absolutely melted watching this. The purest humans on earth 😭❤❤
Sooo Netflix says they MUST find love in their “own” kinds 😢😢😢

That's very kind of you, being willing to date someone with down syndrome. Wish more people were like you 👍

Nah bro, the title 💀💀💀💀
Syndrome might be down but love is up 😢
The title is crazy
I can't wait for Shane Gillis to find his true love.
The title 😂😂
After Libby and Josh's date I felt kind of disappointed, but I could understand why it didn't work out. Josh is very genuine and seems to see life on much simpler and straight-forward terms. Libby seemed to want something a little more relatable. And then Libby and Meimi did their date and by time it was over I totally understood why Meimi didn't want to continue with it. Libby definitely has some emotional issues and priorities she needs to get worked out for herself before she's ready for a genuine relationship, and even though it took me watching 3 of her dates before I realized that, Meimi picked up on it right away. Going back to Josh, I think it's really exciting that he found someone more on his level and even got a smooch and I'm full of anticipation to see where that leads. Also I hope Meimi can find someone to match her energy as well because she also seems incredibly genuine.

I felt the two ladies were mismatched. She spoke to Libby as a child - beneath her.

Josh was too immature for Libby. He’s like a bro and she isn’t that type of person.
Who's "down" to watch this with me?
Lo espero con ansias

Yo también. Quisiera ver este show! ♥️

Not only does Netflix understand that documentaries are more gold than action style Hollywood movies although its good to have some movies for the season, like a good Halloween movie, or Christmas movie, or movie for the Spring and Summer. But since Born This Way was discontinued, I've yet to see something awesome to watch like that until this "Down For Love". Netflix knows what the secret recipe is.

Love that their making these shows not show their passions , struggles wants and needs like everyone else . Love on the spectrum is really good too also on Netflix
You know that title wasn’t an accident.

This series is absolutely magnificent. Highly, highly recommended. Loved it!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Just found my new favourite show. Gonna watch this right after Love on the spectrum
For anyone who is criticizing people with down syndrome just by dating other people with down syndrome, in a relationship both need to be at the same intellectual level, of maturity, to avoid power imbalance.
This is… something else 😅. They did not hold back with the video title either.
I love this show and the beautiful people in the cast. Love is wonderful 🩷
Where that DS OF account tho? 🔥
Other than the name of the show, this is great, insightful. I can see how some may find it exploitative but this is real.
This show was charming ❤ i always had a smile on my face while watching it
