Dove Season Opening Day was the first of this month. Me and Her took the long drive to our ranch in west Texas.
The opening weekend of dove season has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember and I sure was not going to miss it this year. It not only signals the start of hunting season in general, it's also the time where we all get together and enjoy family, friends, food and music.
This was the first year I was able to hunt along side one of my granddaughters. All seven grandbabies were there, but most are still a little too young to sit and talk with me where I can share some "old man" wisdom with them.
Hunting with Grandpaw should be be on the list for every kid. I only wished I could have done the same.
