Having watched Doug try to figure out how to make an AI remember details and failing badly with how hard it is, I absolutely agree. This is incredible. Now imagine this combined with a good AI voice.

It really is. I remember playing AI Dungeon years ago and the game forgetting details from the previous prompt all the time. It was as disjointed as a dream because of that.

@@wild180I remember playing ai dungeon. It sure was interesting. Because of my background in ttrpgs I decided to try the classic technique of seducing your enemies. I wrote in the prompt “seduce” and the AI started pumping out what was essentially smut. It was an interesting way to survive a zombie apocalypse.

Ok, i have to admit, the ai generated dialogue in this game was way better than i expected it to be. It actually felt like I was listening to a bunch of people improv lines, which is way better than AI conversations I've seen before. That said, I'm only about 7 minutes into this video so far.

I think they’re pretty good. Humans use more slang and phrases, and robots and humanoids are very matter-of-fact and straightforward.

It came across as a bit more believable than the other setting IMO. The characters felt like they had more setting thanks to the references to nearby events.

I'm fairly certain what's happening behind the scenes is that the dialogue is mostly (maybe even entirely) irrelevant to what's actually happening in the game. While the characters might respond to the things you say, I doubt you could actually say anything that would change the story, and I suspect if you already knew what the story was you could just skip talking to anybody and go through the plot of the game without talking to the AI at all (the AI only tells you where to go/what to do, but if you take those actions without talking to the AI the story would probably progress the same way).

The best thing about the guy next to the trashcan fire is, he will do ANYTHING if you mention Duke Blue needs him to do it. I did it in my playthrough and had him agreeing to take me to a five star restaurant dinner. It was fantastic.
