First time hearing this. The bass player is my stepdad, Louie Terrazas, who went to be with the Lord on 9/20/22 after a long battle with cancer. Loved him so much. Doug left Texas in the mid 60’s after being busted (and set up) at the airport. That’s when he moved to San Francisco and put together the Honkey Blues band without Augie. They got Augie to move out in ‘68 (I think) and did the Mendocino album. Doug moved back to San Antonio ( or Houston) in the early 70’s to be with his wife. After they split, he moved to Austin and stayed until the late 70’s or early 80’s. He ended up living in Scandinavia for a few years in the 80’s after the reconstructed SDQ put out a couple of records with a new lineup.

@@jwlundgren I'm stuck in Groover's Paradise, more expensive and more people around than in '72 but hey, what you gonna do? lol We'll send u some enchiladas con salsa, y some bar-b-que from Valentina's. Enchiladas and Bar-b-que, o baby what u gonna do? There's a Doug song, already there! lol Played in a group called Freda and the Firedogs in '72. We played a bunch of gigs with Doug. You like red or green sauce?
Fantastic !
Sax great Marty Fierro had too much to drink one night at the old Lone Star here in NY and fell forward on his face. He had to be carried upstairs to the dressing room. He came out for the second set totally unfazed and rockin'. Texas Steel!

Unbelievable. He is the dude that performed with Levon Helm. Awesome stuff.
Country and Western. He just moved the country over a few thousand miles. Lol
❤
This is more like it. The first half had me scared for a minute.
Oh it's Rocky Morales! Rest in Peace Rocky!
Good to see my Good friend Rocky morales..San Dario street
This is great , but Rocky Morales doesn't appear to be doing anything but banging on the tambourine occasionally. I wonder if it was some kind of musician's union thing?
Doug kind of looking like Huey Lewis and the news on the first song.
Almost the same set in Helsinki, was there.🌵
what year was this? Doug looking great and sounding great! A band with Vox organ and pedal steel guitar - oh yeah!

I sailed on the Tallink from Helsinki to Tallin several years ago and there were many Finns in an extreme state of drunkenness.

Exactly ;) I was probably hanging with one of those Finns...
Where can someone find the audio recording for this to purchase? I really like this version of san antonio rose but can't find it anywhere.
Anyone know what year this is from? My dear buddy, Harry Hess (RIP), played pedal steel and backup rhythm guitars for Doug in the mid-70s before Doug had to leave Texas for that whacky tobacky.

Doug was the best and I had a good time playing with him and the Sir Douglas Quintet in my younger days. He was one of the kind and a great cat to know I miss him and I know someday we will play together again. I was the Bass player on Mindocino and loved that song. Love to you buddy and God be with you. Love Jimmy Stallings
👍🏻 👁LARRY CAMPBELL ?!!! 👁👍🏻
