Doug Ford announced plans for beer in convenience stores

Alcohol sales in Ontario will be enhanced in grocery stores and expanded to convenience stores this summer, a year-and-a-half sooner than expected, following a deal that will see the Ontario government provide The Beer Store up to $225 million for the early rollout.
"We are delivering on our commitment to give consumers in Ontario the choice and convenience every other Canadian enjoys and we’re doing so even sooner than we had originally promised," Premier Doug Ford said in a statement Friday.

Three should be a law in Ontario that beer producers must carry a value line of beers for $1 each. We don't need more access as much as financial relief. Also there must be a law prohibiting larger beer companies to buy out smaller ones who provide discount beer like Honey Lager once provided. What Labatt did was unscrupulous. Offered the CEO of Honey Lager millions of dollars to sell them the rights and quickly raised the price to match domestic beer prices.

The prices at the LCBO are controlled by the government. The beer store is a private company with a special agreement last I checked, which includes adhering to government guidelines on pricing. It's basically a private monopoly majority owned by major multinational alcohol companies. There's a good documentary about it that's available on youtube about how it's a racket, not sure if it's still there though. It was made many years ago.

interesting question for safety minister and those who are burdened with preventing human DEATHS is why politicians and scared of deaths never protest against sending their barely legal children to wars in military that bring em back in boxes or ptsd .''what don't kill people'' ? plane crash. non impared crashes .etc etc . and parking lots of pubs and bars are full of vehicals who's drivers are inside doing what ? so why are'nt more police hired and assign one peace officer at every parking lot of pubs and bars . to make sure no one coming out of pub and bar gets behind wheel without being checked for impairedness ? pulling over just one random driver miles away from alcohol serving restaurant while other get away .don't make no sense . every body must be checked before driving off from those parking lots of pubs and bars TO PREVENT HUMAN DEATHS . CUZ YOU LIVE ONLY ONCE . o and their is no '' procedure in law to make sure if off duty police officers aren't ;letting each other off the hook getting pulled over by fellow police officer coming out of pubs and bars . who watch the watchers ?

The Ontario government had to pay the BEER STORE $225 million to start rolling this plan out a year earlier. Yes $225 million to the Beer Store to start selling Alcohol at stores because they wanted the sales to start early!!! 😡 Sure will be nice for convenience But what does convenience matter when you don’t have enough money to buy beer because 100% of your income goes to over inflated housing costs !!! Think of all the affordable housing that could be built with $225,000,000 !!! The government knows we have failed to build enough affordable housing in the past 30 years already. Yet with all this talk about housing needed now a couple years ago they are only building a tiny portion of what’s need NOW!! Let alone what will be needed in ten years. We have done this to our children!!! We have put our children, parents and ourselves in a very bad situation where affordable housing/housing itself will be a privilege not a right like the many generations before!! Please Get involved now, without YOU nothing will change the fact a housing tsunami is coming and our children’s generation won’t see things go back to normal in their lifetime ❤️❤️🇨🇦
