Witcher Voice actor Doug Cockle is an American actor, director and acting teacher living in the United Kingdom known primarily for his work as the voice of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher video games series. He has voiced Geralt since 2005 and continues to lend his voice to this iconic character as he visits other games such as SoulCalibur VI and Monster Hunter World. Doug has voiced characters in numerous video games and has been doing so since 1999. Video game titles include such games as: The Witcher 1, 2 and 3 and expansions, Thronebreaker and Gwent, The Division, Horizon Zero Dawn, State of Mind, Quantum Break, Runescape, Smite, Victor Vran, Blues and Bullets, Block N Load, Randall’s Monday, Timsplitters 2, Dead Nation, Driver San Francisco, Augmented Empire, Dark, The Book of Unwritten Tales 1 and 2, The Pegasus Project, Thundercats, Demonicon, Perfect Dark Zero, Second Sight, Aquanox 2, Conflict Desert Storm 2, Chaser, Yager, Twin Calibre and others.
Doug also works in Theatre, Film and Television and Commercials. Notable titles include Band of Brothers, Reign of Fire, Survivor, Criminal, Murphy’s Law and Cheerios and Sprite commercials. He was nominated for a BAFTA in 2016 for his work on Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt and expansions. Other award nominations include the DICE Awards. Best Performance award wins came from NAVGTR Awards and The Golden Joystick Awards in 2016.
Doug has worked extensively in the video games industry and is primarily known for his work as Geralt of Rivia in the Witcher video game series. He has been nominated for several awards for his work with this character. These include:

The Witcher is an action role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by Atari, based on the novel series of The Witcher by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.[4] The story takes place in a medieval fantasy world and follows Geralt of Rivia, one of a few traveling monster hunters who have supernatural powers, known as Witchers. The game's system of moral choices as part of the storyline was noted for its time-delayed consequences and lack of black-and-white morality.
Netflix The Witcher is a fantasy drama series. It is based on the book series of the same name by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. Set in a medieval world on a landmass known as the Continent, The Witcher follows the story of solitary monster hunter Geralt of Rivia Henry Cavill sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), and princess Ciri (Freya Allan), who find their destinies tied together. The first season is based on The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, a collection of short stories which precede the main Witcher saga. The first season explores formative events that shaped the three lead characters, prior to their first encounters with each other.
It is confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 easter egg includes Cirri from the witcher game, it is also expected Doug Cockle as Geralt will be in the game.

Logically I'd say yes but at the same time I never noticed any problems and he said it feels quite easy now, he'd do a bunch of takes until it's right. I'm somewhat inclined to think maybe he doesn't as it seems... well perfect.

Henry Cavill, who plays Geralt in the series, also stated that he had an American Accent to give Geralt this "otherness". Therefore I think your assumption is quite Fitting!

In the books, Geralt says that he fakes a Rivian accent in order to fit the backstory. Whether that’s what we’re hearing in the games, I’m unsure.

SCS studios actually worked with him to use his voice for GPS in both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. So your wishes are answered.
Here I was thinking there was a real-life Geralt somewhere going through drive-throughs, ordering food, and making doctor’s appointments, all in that voice.😄

Most people don't really have a gruff voice like that. David Hayter, this guy, Clint Eastwood etc. I'd say Michael Ironside is the closest to his character of Sam Fisher, but he still adds a little bit of gruff to it.

Not in full context (for Witcher 1 anyways). The production of the first game was a big mess, and a lot of the lines are simply read from a page with no context as to what the situation is.

Honestly his voice really doesnt sound like that geralt we know and love. Just shows his talent as an actor!
I think witchers having an american accent was to divide them from all the other people in the witcher world. To highlight that they don't belong anywhere. With other characters their accent tells right away what region they're from. In medieval times american accent didn't exist so I think it's representing them not having an accent.

Same ending as me...twice. Yen is toxic so I always end up with Triss and Ciri doing her own thing.
