Personally, I like this decision. I get tired of the same veteran coaches being recycled from team to team. I love the idea of brining in some new blood that can better relate to the youth they will have coming up

I'm guessing Army figures the teams is a couple years off from being a strong playoff team no need paying a coach high dollars we can just keep Bannister. Only reason I like the move is because he knows a lot of the youth, and that can be helpful.. Was still a mistake to dump Berube.

Your statement of not bringing in a high dollar coach because we are a couple years off makes 0 sense. Not bringing a coach in because he doesn’t have a good history with developing players makes more sense. Berube was handed one of the best situations you could ask for. A goalie with something to prove, a top 6 defensive unit, and 4 lines of 2nd line players. All he needed to do was make them work hard for each other.

I think Bannister is fine. I'm sure the Blues organization liked the contract price. I would like to see the Blues get new special teams coaches. We've been at the bottom of the league for a few years, and I do not see anything changing with the current special teams coaches. I truly miss Brad Shaw on the bench. Our power play was amazing then.

While I don't wholeheartedly disagree with this decision. It seems like there could have been more deliberation before coming to this conclusion. I hope the organization isn't taking their cues from the team at Busch Stadium and trying to hire a yes man more than a coach. I'll still give the Blues the benefit of the doubt, but watching what the Cards have done makes me more skeptical.

The Sharks have also beaten teams like the Rangers that are still in the playoffs, so that’s not a very good reason. @JayRoberts244 yes they beat rangers 1 time (sharks) but they beat blues 3 times. And just cause a coach gets fired doesn't mean he is bad. Look at berube and imo we need a well established coach for all the young players here and coming up. Bannister is nothing but a fall guy for army when team sucks.

@@ACErob-me9ss since you brought up Bannisters record this season and brought up Chief, what was Chiefs record this season? Yes, getting fired does in fact mean you were bad at least at the time you were fired. Again, look at chiefs record this year compared to Bannisters, same team. No shade at Chief because I love the dude but facts are facts. Bannister seems to work well and connect with the younger players which is exactly what they need for next two to three years
