During 70 mins of the game, the winning probabilty is often still 50-50 in DotA 2. Even if its a one-sided, there's always somehow a chance of a comeback. Despite the vast mechanics and the crazy amount of detail DotA 2 has, the satisfaction and enjoyment hits really different.

I have played both and to be 100% honest, Dota is most balanced throughout all the heroes. By that, I mean 98% of the characters are seen in matches. While in LoL, I mostly see meta comp like lee sin or rengar jungle, jinx adc etc I feel like Riot is just too focus on the cosmetics side of their games instead of the gameplay.

​@@karmaisntrealIt does. But it depends. In Dota 2 100ping is Playable. In LOL 100ping is hell. Just make sure it is stable and you'll be fine. If it goes up for some time don't. Im Russia server mainly, but I can play with SEA and Europe too since it's close. At Russia I'm at as low as 1 ping, at Europe I'm at 30+ Ping, at SEA I'm at 80 Ping and at US West I'm at 110+ Ping. All are playable. I'm not a fancy guy that likes to play on negative ping or 10000FPS. If I were to ask ping wise of course Russia is better. But Europe and SEA in terms of players and feel. I play at SEA nowadays most of the time. There are more than 10 regions, not all of them are playable but you have some alternatives from where you are from. For Example In Australia Dota is pretty much Dead so Australian Dota players switches to SEA so they can find games quicker.

Played League for 8 years, recently started playing Dota. I always thought that dota was strategically more complex, but league league has harder mechanics because of the lack of targeted skills. After 100 hours in Dota I now realise that just CSing in lane in Dota is more mechanically and mentally challenging then all of League of Legends combined.

Dota isnt janky at all, I think the reason why league players think its janky in terms of movement is because of the cast animation of most of the hero skills in dota which may feel like your hero is casting skills late, and of course the turn rate, league players tend to associate the slow turn rate(heroes needs to physically turn around if attacking an enemy from behind etc) of dota heroes as lag but its really not. I've played dota for 10 years now and league for 3 years, both games are great, but in terms of fun and competitiveness in ranks, dota is without a doubt superior, not saying league is bad.

I disagree. Dota is slow paced and chill. League is always on the edge. I actually mained jungle in league which made the transition to dota easier as the role requires more macro play than micro. Just 8 hours of gameplay and I'm outperforming my teammates with a long history in the game lol

Nah, I've never seen a dota player dodge an ability using only a movement input. The graphics are better in a sense but if you're the one watching it its not really better. Dota stans always boast about their Prize Pool when top league player has so much income streams that it evens out despite having modest tournament prizes. Dota fails to advertise due to how elitist the community is, The same thing happened with Wild rift.

The “laggy” feel is due to turn rates, in league, characters scan immediately change direction, while in Dota there’s a delay, for the hero to actually turn and face the direction he’s going to travel.

That's not because of the slow mechanism of dota 2, it's because of the characteristics of the hero in dota 2. Remember your trun rated changes when you buy specific items like boots and other items.

To counter engage: Blink dagger if you have the the reflexes and BKB tp if the enemy team doesn't have any basher, it's actually way easier to scape alive at Dota, I almost forgot about Eul's scepter and magic sticker, as Mirana player, those items can save you from a lot of bad situations.

Took me the same amount of time to learn both. DOTA 2’s complexity is what makes it fun, however the elitist playerbase doesn’t help.

Doublelift actually make sense, i play both games League is indeed newbie friendly but also is kinda hard to grind once you're on top because some champs can just 1 combo you with 2-4 skills and no one will be able to save you in that 1-2 sec/s While DotA, there's no Hero that can 1 combo you in 1-2 secs (unless Kda diff is so big that kda itself can 1 combo you) plus anyone can save you if incase you got caught (so long as you are with someone and got the right skills/items) kinda easy to grind if you're on top(even at the bottom actually if you have a good mindset) because of how everyone's mind works for the same goal even if tilted

you kidding, you sure you play?.. Phantom Assassin can kill you 1 or 2 hits you're dead. SF ulit can melt you, Tiny with a blink dagger with either damage item or dagon can easily kill a support in 2 seconds, I even have unconventional build of Tusk that have divine and daedalus that can 1 hit carry or support. It depends how you dominate the game

When sf is killing you with combo, you get anything that instantly moves you like force staff or you get some magic resist or you just not walk alone on possibly warded spots. You can counter ANYTHING with proper items and/or hero picks.

Dota is like micro-managing yourself in the game because wave manipulation isn't enough to win you a game. If you play someone that multiplies like Meepo, Arc Warden, or heroes that have summons like Lone Druid and Visage, you're already controlling 2-3 of the same heroes you're controlling. You also need to take into account the turn rate mechanic which makes kiting more or less bad in certain situations like most of the time, just standing in place while you auto is better. You also need to keep in mind that heroes with hooks also attach to other players/creeps so if you're a Thresh main first time placing Pudge, your first instinct is to hook through your minions but you'll end up just pulling your own. And don't even bother with Invoker. That hero has like 10 spells with different combinations of Quas, Wex, and Exort. If you mess up 1 time, your combo is already done.

Played Dota for around 5000 hours before quitting and playing League afterwards. One thing I prefered is that, as a support, i feel a lot more impactful playing LoL than playing Dota, also it feels a lot better to be good at Lol champions than Dota heroes, but I also like Dota for the slightly higher freedom for creativity in offmeta picks, although both games have an absolute cancerous playerbase, despite one thinking they are better than the other, it's just pathetic.

I always felt supporting in Dota was way more impactful than in LoL, and I'm an Immortal support Dota player and a Diamond 2 support LoL player (although only play Dota now). There is a lot more things to do as a support in Dota compared to LoL, and your spells remain impactful throughout the game regardless of your farm.

surprised you feel more impactful in league than in dota, i play both games everyday and have well over 500 hours on both, i can confidently say, in league you’re just a mage or tank that can’t take farm which is the “support” but in dota, you’re stacking camps, pulling camps, constantly roaming with TP scroll, getting bounty runes, high ground vision control, all while setting up kills for your carry. league is taking 85% of that away and just focusing on vision and setting up a kill for your laner

@@remusciuciu2840 by the time it takes u to roam to other lane in league (even with boots of mobility) the fight is already over , while in dota u just use a tp scroll on tower/outpost or dimensional twingate

no turn rates in league make it feel more responsive, but it is quite an interesting mechanic to balance heroes

To counter engage: Blink dagger if you have the the reflexes and BKB tp if the enemy team doesn't have any basher, it's actually way easier to scape alive at Dota, I almost forgot about Eul's scepter and magic sticker, as a Mirana player, those items can save you from a lot of bad situations.

To all the people that didn't play dota, by "janky and laggy" he means dota has a mechanic called "turn rate", so your hero takes some time to turn around, while in league it doesn't exists and you can instantly walk back and forth.

It's better cause it's fast paced, it's not an RTS, it doesn't need to be over complicated, but it can still be a challenge cause you take time mastering the small amount of mechanics, this is a Moba not chess

But I don't like it because when I sit down to play a moba I'm not looking for something super in depth that's gonna take me a long time. I'm looking for something easy to learn but hard to master that doesn't take too long. Maybe that is what you're looking for which is fine. I'm probably wrong saying it's unnecessary, but I also don't think it makes it better either. Just depends what you're looking for.

I played both. If you want a fast pace gameplay and a little bit easier, go for League. Dota on the other hand is in a different conversation. It's hard to grasp, but much-much more thrilling to play because of the mechanics. You have to actually use your brain. It has a lot of variations in items and heroes.

The janky feeling in dota is the turn rate and cast animations, whereas in lol I believe those are instant or much quicker.

Sounds like a skill issue to be honest

i find positioning in dota more punishing due to how much long range engage and cc there is and just hos EXCRUTIATING some of the cc chains are in this game. some heroes can singlehandedly cc you for 5 seconds by themselves. So if you get caught you are getting perma cced while i league you ha e a chance to just flash out or dash oout / avoid a key cc ability like a naut hook and be alright.

@@idirbouchdoug1567 Eh... maybe... but supports have little to no means of saving carries in league, in dota there are things like Force Staff, Glimmer, the new shield items, etc. Not to mention the hero's abilities that can hide or move their carries. If you are getting perma CCed in league you'd be unsaveable since the damage scaling is too much.

Some people are looking to games simply to have an enjoyable time. League is a more enjoyable experience on average compared to Dota. You can't and shouldn't expect people to invest the amount of time required to learn how to properly play an arguably over complex... game. This isn't grasping a complex mathmatical formula, blueprint, or metaphysical concept... it's a video game, a form of entertainment most look towards for respite from life and an ounce of fun. I'm glad a lot of people like Dota, but it's doomed to be niche in comparison to its competitors.

if i played dota when i was younger id like it more probably, i just dont have the willingness to stuff my mouth full of shit for 200 hours like i used to. im not old, but im to the point where id rather just, get bored, jump to one of the other 5 games i play, repeat. i try to play dota twice a year, get stomped in beginner matches as a diamond player, or sit in 20 min queue, then quit.

Dota 2 International (world championship) Prize pool is about 15 times League of legends. So yeah it said a lot of things. The complexity is harder than Lol, that's the biggest difference. But it's also a plus, player keep finding new way to use a hero. Support base hero for carry, tank/str hero to jungle, carry/agility hero for support. I got 6.5k MMR, but still I learned many new moves/build from others. That's the beauty of Dota.

He isnt explaining why lol is better, just why it’s more popular. It’s easier and noob friendly, dota is more of an elitist game, much more complex and hard to get in to… but make no mistake, dota2 is much much better than lol, it’s way better balance and all heroes are viable not just the “20 of the patch” like in lol, where if you pick anything outside of those 20 you just lose because everyone else is playing the op champs… also check pick diversity in the world cup of either game, lol is sometimes under 50% of champs PICKED OR BANNED, while dota always have 90% of heroes picked/banned.

Cause it’s truthfully not that popular. League has 10-15x the player count on any given day, DOTA has 100k+ on a good day, and even then it’s playerbase is to busy sweating out how hard DOTA is to bother with making content or having a job

Cuz 98% of league skills are skill shots, most of the skills can be animation cancelled and every champion nowadays has more than 3 dashes, a good lucian can make his dash 0 seconds of CD for as long as he can keep animation cancelling his autos. A single shit hits you, and youre dead in 0,001 seconds and etc. Also champions in league usually have a more mechanically intense kits which much more options. People in dota loves to talk all about meepo snd shit like that, but meepo is hard becuz he turns the moba gameplay into an RTS gameplay.

Lol only has to worry about creeps blocking their skills but if there aren't any then its just who is the faster one to throw their skills, Dota 2 has not only have to worry about creeps blocking their skill but also creep aggro which can also basically block your path, highground visions, Skills and Items which literally force you to play with 6 buttons(heroes like snipers and Ls) up until to 15+(invoker, you need to create a combination of quas ,exort and wex and you need to remember all the combinations too), Also most items in DOTA are mostly active items.

@@fallenonegaming1290 i play both games. Mechanically league is more demanding. You wobt die in 0.003 Seconds in dota, you have TONS of counterplay to everything the game throws at you. A game having more buttons dont make it actually harder, keyboard efficiency and smart keybinds disposition make it trivial, you wont be pressing ALL the buttons at the same time or activate 6 itens instantly midfight. You do It when its necessary. Stop using invoker as an example for "look How hard dota is", invoker is a unique character by its own. Meepo too, Chen and beast master are much harder than Meepo in EVERY aspect anyway. As i Said league punishes your mistakes much, much harder than Dota. One mistep and you 3000 health pool goes to zero in a Blink. One mistakes in lane and you get Frozen and theres nothinh you can do. You talk about Aggro in dota as If in league manipulating minion Aggro wasnt important too. In dota If you screw your Lane equilibrium you can Just go for a pull or give up the Minions and go Farm the jungle. In league If you screw up your Lane and the enemy freezes, enjoy being 60 CS behind the whole game :)

i've grinded dota for a whole ass year just to get better at it and get a hang of it, one of the hardest games i've ever played but the most satisfying one once you get a hang of it

@@PepeAlvin and dota towers hit like a wet noodle and can be dove indefinitely when you get vanguard. while in league if you dive a tower that early you die in 4 hits. towers agro could also easily be redirected by attacking an allied creep and tower doesnt focus you when you attack an enemy. also i dota you could liteeally siege a tower out of its range of attack so it is eve more useless. so tl dr : league towers are useful but a bit more fragile while dota towers are useless but a bit harder to kill. Hell even the foutain can be dove for extended amount of time in dota with illusion heroes and tanky heroes.

yasuo isn't a hard champ. Irelia, qiyana, gragas combos are hard to pull off. Yasuo's hardest combo is like e q flash with the circle knock up then r. Irelia for example you can minion q auto q for short trades, you can e minion q auto e q q back q in auto for an extended trade. High apm arthritis champ, only character in the game i get stomped on when i try to play it.

The biggest difference is the attribute system in Dota2. It completely changes the way items feel and work but also the fact that moves' damage numbers are pretty much constants and u can barely increase those numbers, while in league every mage scales with every single item they build

Can't defend anything about it's gameplay because you guys know it's just too easy compared to DOTA 2. It's REALLY popular because it caters a way different audience, just like MOBILE LEGENDS in SEA. Plus RIOT > VALVE in advertisement and marketing but the game is just donwgrade to the original. LOL was made to cater to new MOBA players. DOTA 2 was made to cater to the old DotA players.

Dota is way harder than league but definitely more balanced than league And the gameplay isn't just farm-gank-farm-push-kill and support can actually do something and also the meta is really flexible wich is really nice because they don't have to pump out 5 champion each year to make the game better

Dota is more of a high-level version of League. I played both. league aint bad but DOTA is better. You get everything in Dota. STRESS / ANXIETY / TOXIC CULTURE but very rewarding LMAO. Some people thrive in those environments some people don't.

Everyone defend all their game, what im gonna say is facts : league has the most boring esports, 1 single team fight and then the games is over like wtf? Dats why Dota is the better game cuz its entertaining to watch the esports

League player here, also seeing the same fucking comps: -Gnar/Aatrox/Gragas. Top -Sejuani/Viego/Maokai. Jg -Sylas/Akali/Azir. Mid -Varus/Lucian/MF. Adc -Nami/Amumu/Renata. Supp Every single match is so boring, and not to mention this year's Yuumi 95% pick/ban rate and 100% win rate. A lot of matches this year were decided on draft, a competitive game shouldn't be like that.

LoL players play dota: OMG! they can kill their own creeps?? THAT IS SO BULLSHIT! proceed to leave the game and uninstall. Jokes aside, i believe that both games are complicated in their own way but back then i had a few friends that played dota for years but was still incredibly bad at it. They went to play league and did better then they ever did in Dota. Coincidence? No. They themselves admitted that LoL is much easier to play because there's less things to think about and it's much more straightforward where as in Dota it's so punishing even from the small detail/mistake.

Dota is way more versatile and the amount of fun u can experience depends on your brain and iq,if you are noob,you wont be able to enjoy it. So low iq gamers should enjoy their easier and smooth game LOLL
