    hehe, thanks for watching Mellisa! I will try to keep videos coming :P I was so bad this year; I didn't set the tree up until Christmas Eve! Also, how I would like to decorate in my head and how it comes out in reality are two very different visions!

    Really like doing chainmaille and look forward to trying this pattern. It's esp fun in the rainbow design you used in your original spiral chainmaille tutorial in Feb. 2015. When you said the size of your rings, 1/2" right, is that the inside diameter or the outside diameter? Assuming your wrapped around a 1/2" mandrel, so that's inside diam, right? Just a hint: When I do chainmaille (only byzantine so far) I attach a brightly colored jumbo paper clip to the beginning of the chain. This gives me something to hold onto to find the pattern and know where to put the next ring. After dropping my work several times and having to hunt for where I left off, I had to figure out a way to just pick it up then quickly and easily find my last ring placement. The paper clip also helps ease the fatigue on my arthritic hands in the beginning of a new chain when there is very little for my non-dominant hand to hold onto while looping on the rings. Thanks for this tutorial. BTW, you have come a long way in the 2 1/2" years since your original spiral chain tut. Great job!

    Thanks, Michelle! I used 18ga 14/", and that is the inner diameter :) Thats a really good idea to use a paper clip like that!

    Are your tutorials Swg or awg?

  • @backtoearthcreations

    @backtoearthcreations

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hey, Joyce! In this tutorial the rings I am using are SWG. I wish I were consistent, but unfortunately I am not. My wire that I wrap with is AWG so sometimes if I've coiled my own enameled copper the rings will be AWG as well, but for the most part my rings over 19ga are SWG. I will start specifying in the future because this is a subject often confusing to most folks and my inconsistency just makes it worse lol!
