Chainmaille Jewelry Master Class 1: Spiral Chain 3 Ways

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Want to learn to make your own chainmaille jewelry but not sure where to start? Learn to make Spiral Chain in three variations; the first variation is great for complete beginners, the second variation is slightly more complicated, but still very do-able, and the third variation introduces a bit of bead stringing, but don't let that scare you off ;) Its still pretty beginner friendly! As always, please leave a comment or sent us an email if you have any questions!
The ring sizes I am using here are, from smallest to largest: (Listed in SWG -standard wire gauge-)

I am currently attempting to do a spiral chain earing. Once I got it figured out ish it is working. The rings I am using are 18 guage 9/64 in ring. When I place my order at Weave Got Maille I messed up and got Itty bitty rings. How ever I am loving how cute it's turning out. Yvonne you are a great teacher thank you very much!

Wow I want to learn this so badly, I have to gather the supplies first. thanks for listing the supplies at the bottom of "show more"! I have a couple of twin girls i would like to make both a mermail color and Unicorn bracelet and necklace motiff.I will have to watch this several times to be able to get it. Your hands are so deft at this. Thank you so much for the tutorial your so generous with your teaching. I notice in the stores even the plastic jewels have gone up in price about 10 percent, and one of my favorite craft stores here in our state that was close to me has closed its doors. Inflation! it will affect everything.

Make an initial 4in1. Separate 2 of the outer rings. Run a new ring through them. Flatten the weave. Add 2 to the new center ring you just created. Continue until you have you width. For widening, pick a side of your strap and snag 2. Close and repeat down the side. Repeat to length. Less fighting the chain.

Would you have a video on Speed weaving the Spiral Chain? I saw a video where the person is able to add 3 rings with each pass. Would you know how this is done or have a video on it?

Technique question, if you have the time to answer this (I know it's an older video!): have you ever tried stabilizing the ends of spiral chain with the bead stringing material, a crimp bead, and just a small spacer bead or two? I'm looking for a minimal way to end spiral chain without having to re-twist the necklace, and I think this could work?
