We experienced the peak of our era, and now it is gone. Recession is tanking everything including 401K. My retirement equities portfolio of $750K is in the reds. I keep losing because of inflation. This world will fall to the corrupt rulers in the same way that Rome did. I'm sorry if you're thinking about retiring and you're worried that your pension won't be enough to meet the rising cost of living. Horrible foreign policies everywhere, bad regulatory policy, bad fiscal policy, and bad energy policy.

Someone said that it's time to be concerned when you start to see individuals shoplifting groceries rather than big-screen televisions, and i agree. Truth is, inflation will never reach 2% ever again, maybe in the next life, but not this one. Anyone purchasing groceries and gasoline is aware that real inflation is much over 10%; they simply lie about it like cheap blankets. In reality, interest rates would be in the 20s because of how high inflation is. But then despite the severe bear market, I am aware of certain investors that continue to earn over $200,000. Wish I could accomplish that.

I can’t with this guy smacking his lips. Housing is massively over valued, worse then 2008. Majority of people with low interest rates put very little down. Their sitting ducks trapped in their 3% mortgages. People thinking they have built all of this equity in there home in two years when in reality it’s speculative. The FED is going to keep increasing rates, and then hold until it breaks. By the time interest rates come down, millions will be out of work, and in default on their mortgages. All of the equity gained will disappear, and a lot will be unknowingly upside down. This coupled with massive over building will create a situation on a scale or worse then 2008. There is no housing shortage! People can’t sell and buy with rates at 8%. 8% rates wouldn’t be a big deal if homes were not massively overvalued, because of the FED’s money printing, that created this asset bubble.

You're upside down and you know you'll be wiped out if you sell. Why go through the trouble of wasting your time to sell? Just stop paying. Hide as much cash as you can while the bank spends month to foreclose on you, and try to stick the house losses to the bank.

Roubini is out of touch with the majority of American's who earns on average $71K per year that cant afford to buy a $350K "starter" home! This collapse will be twice as bad as 08 because this is a global recession if not depression.

he is a really smart guy is he being paid for to say what hes saying you think? the way i see it if you going to have any downturn that is historic like 1920,1929 and 2008 the top 3 so in that line housing has always crashed. if investors have bought all these homes during good times and probably could weather a regular recession but if we going to face something that is once again historic the pain is to much inventory will flood am i wrong ?

@@brianoleson9224 Im not sure housing will be the cause of this major correction. Although there will be a huge amount of residential properties flooding the market when AirBnB investors are forced out. The more likely scenario IMO is a global liquidity crunch, perhaps originating in China from Country Garden/Evergrande.

@@aaronnewkirk7085 history shows that every bubble pops it also shows that if your going to have a historic downturn housing crashes. we are seeing things we havent seen in 100 years much more dire then 40 year inflation. were talking about a downturn like 1920, 1929 and 2008 not 1970 1980 1990 or 2000

Crazy how the market works and opportunities arise. I'll be honest, I rarely have time to keep up with all these shifts in the market. Luckily, I've always had someone guiding me through these tumultuous times. Believe it or not, with her guidance, I've been able to net a consistent 60% profit just over the last 6 months. I know there'll be skeptics saying I'm bluffing, but hey, numbers don't lie.

Its not a resession... Its a richessession Its those who are leveraged with millions in debt... That are gonna suffer Mortgages are not just used for home purchases. They are financial products that are almost impossible to walk away from without huge ramifications. The rich are leveraged to the 9's with this type of debt.

If someone who closely watches the rental market, you guys are so damn partisan that you can't see the writing on the wall. You're talking about Airbnb or high-end rentals. You have individuals out there that are asking $7,000 a month for these homes and places like Florida. They're sitting vacant for 6, 8, 12 months. There is no recession. These homeowners just have unrealistic expectations when it comes to the rental market.
