The flat tonguing is smoother sounding and could be better for a lagatto style as well. Gonna have to try this and teach it to my son as well.

Cool! Congrats! Fabulous! As you probably know, on flute or recorder is much harder as there is hardly no air resistance from the instrument, so I fear although I can circular breath, I am still not successful doing it simultaneously with double tonguing. The lack of air resistance means the instrument is also extremely sensitive to any change in the air stream, so 'masking' the sound fluctuations when breathing in is much harder. Even when you play the sax I can still faintly hear the difference in tone when breathing in, so that is the big challenge for us flute/recorder players. Any suggestions to help? CHEERS!!!!!!!

Tonguing while circular breathing feels so wrong- How does someone practice this? My tongue refuses to tongue whilst I take a "circular" breath.

Double tongue feels so uncomfortable on the sax. It is nice on the flute but on the sax I hate it

When I circular breathe, what "stops up" my mouth so I can push the air out of my cheeks IS essentially my tongue holding a "k" consonant. Have you ever tried "tktk" double tonguing, then switching to "doodle" only when circular breathing? Might be more trouble than its worth.

Congrats, amazing! Would it be possible to have an online lesson with you? I am a baroque flute player, my circular breathing is good, and I am using a very special double tonguing di'dll described mid 18th century bya German guy called Quantz. It must be possible to apply this tonguing for combining both circular breathing and double tonguing because I basically use only the very front of my tongue. But somehow I do not manage this.... There is an other way, which I manage but not faster than ca. 140, but yours seems to be better, and I must understend how it works, how to practice it. Thanks in advance for contacting me, best regards, Benedek And please see my tutorial video on di'dll kzread.info/dash/bejne/daioksySYqeYmZM.html
