  Derek, I've been playing the tenor for 52 years and every time I pick it up, I fuss with neck/mouthpiece angles. I'm obsessive and perfectionistic and I let it drive me nuts. That said, I agree with you on all points. My Trevor James SC also has a very upswept neck. It's supposed to facilitate altissimo but I prefer a more level neck; I think it looks like I play a damn bass clarinet. ;>)

  Here @Alex Hsieh @Paul Mauriat you see exactly why thumb key should be turning the opposite direction (Look at Conn, Buescher, Bundy, Couesnon monopole, Lyrist Poimboeuf (basically all pre war models). When Selmer changed the keywork, they made the biggest mistake in the further development of the saxophone.
