They are a fun band and the energy of live performances is crazy. They don't really do harsh vocals. Fun fact, the vocalist started as the drummer.

It took them like 5 years and 6ish members till he became lead vocals, when Jonny was drumming backstage the whole time. 😂

I mean the lyrics to Mr. MTV could be deemed cringe in certain contexts, but they are literally pointing out the absurdity of the celebrity life/status with the track. The lines in the 2nd verse are actually quite poignant: "In my I-life, in my I-world, On my I-phone, with my I-girl, Just one bite to understand, even Eve Couldn't live without the I-plan" That's the Self-obsessive & Technology-reliant aspects of modern celebrity covered in a few lines pretty nicely if you ask me. 🤷♂ Generally their lyric game is quite strong & fairly deep/emotional a lot of the time. They're more of an alt-rock band with some heavier influences though as opposed to some of the heavier stuff you've probably checked out.

I was at the live and said I've never heard of this band but it turns I HAVE heard this first song at some point.. It's good overall but as I said in the chat that Im into heavier bands like JINJER GOJIRA and PANTERA but this definitely has a vibe to it..thx for the vid man ✌️🤘

Something I don't think anyone talks about in regards to this video is a potential name meaning in "ballast" Isn't that a kind of water or something you keep on a ship to keep it balanced. A weight that only serves that purpose.

Love these guys, seen them live twice and they are without a doubt one of my favs! I'd recommend some of their new stuff like spirits (best on the newest album in my opinion) or funny little creatures. Awesome vid, earned a new sub my man 👍👍

used to listen to This is the Time on repeat in college. happy you found it. not a huge screamo fan so it hits good for me. for metal, its an 85 rate for me. i hope it makes it to the ipod for some cruising

He can scream, and please do the song Jenny which is deep in subject matter,it’s about a girl that has drug and mental issues and it’s based on the singer’s sister, it’s one of my favorite songs because I can relate to it because two of my sisters have become drug addicts, one just died a couple years ago and the other me and my mom don’t know where she is most of the time

“Spirits” really shows off his vocal ability. “Don’t Stop” featuring Shaddix and “Turn it up like” are pretty great too, though the latter doesn’t have the best lyrics.

Jenny, God Went North, and Fade In / Fade Out are all loosely related. I warn you to have tissues on hand though. I can't listen to GWN especially without tearing up.
Never heard of these before. Tbh most of my attention went to all that water in the first track lol xD Maby It was better If I didn't see that vid and the sound quality was better. Really gives me 00's rock vibe. Not quite my jam but maby I would have liked it 10 yrs ago 😁

I honestly hadn't heard the second one before so we reacted to it together 🤘. That said yes the lyrics and what not are cringe and cheesy for a reason. Until we wake tf up and get our shit together the same message will be conveyed by different artists in different ways.

change how you look at the lyrics as a criticism of certain parts of the music industry that exist solely to help other products sell. it makes it look less cheesy and more just very sad commentary.
