I wasn't sure what the special occasion was cracking two DMx2 collector boxes! These are always fun yet nail-bitting to watch! I was rooting for all the hits, and while not bad, I would have loved to see a Seal or three for ya. Those pack foils seem to be nearly impossible to find a good hit, however, that was one of the better Etched slot pulls I've see out of couple of boxes. As always, thanks for the opening. This time with nice and hot coffee! ☕😋

Yeah… I think I did well enough on my last draft box where I was like “man I really enjoy opening DM22. I should try collector boxes!” 😂 thankfully I did fairly well and avoided pound town. Etched foil slot delivered. A lot of the time that slot is a wasteland…. And not the magic card. Enjoy your hot coffee. I know I’m enjoying mine! ☕️🙌🏼

Not at all. The etched foil slot is soooo difficult to get hits from so these boxes really delivered in that area. Overall, pretty good boxes.

This was a fun product to watch folks open!!! I don't think I saw people getting crushed.

Oh, I have seen some people get crushed. But that’s the elevated risk/reward that comes with them. They really are a rush to open!

They are fun to open. A little nerve wracking due to the high variance but absolutely amazing when you hit some good stuff.

As wild as these collectors packs are, it's nice how consistent the collation is. Apparently at this point in the "Booster Fun" era, all I want is to have a general idea of the card types I'm getting and that's enough. 😅

Hahaha how low is the bar when it’s like “but will the collation be accurate?!” There was an issue in some of these collector boxes where the etched foil slow was all the same card. I opened two boxes on channel where 6 of the 8 etched foils were all Anguished Unmaking but I’ve only seen that a few times.

Great opening Ian. Off topic question- could you do a video on what you do with bulk? This weekend I decided to sort A LOT of cards and tidy up my card area a bit. I have a few of those white card board boxes and of course binders, but I’m finding I’m running out of room. It’s also an interesting time as most of my local stores aren’t buying bulk at the moment. I used to be able to sell maybe 1000 commons for $20 or so, but they aren’t even doing that anymore. Was just curious what you do. Thanks man!

Thanks for the video idea. I’ll think about it a little more. Honestly once I get to the point where I’m overflowing 3500 count boxes for a set I start looking to donate cards to other players. But I should look into opportunities to donate to like a Boys and Girls Club.

Thanks! Lake of the Dead is one of my favorite art/cards. Picked up the playmat a couple of years ago. I can’t remember if I bought it online or at an event but it’s definitely one of me favorites. I think I got it on eBay.

I've been lucky and snagged one of these for 169 on black Friday

How'd it go, also they're really cheap in aus rn, 180 aud so like 120 us?? Its pretty good

Popped one of these on release and had 3/4 of my etched as Anguished Unmaking. Downright silly.

Ouch. That was a seriously common issue with the first wave boxes. I'm not sure if wotc offered any kind of compensation for that production gaffe

I opened one of those Anguished Unmaking boxes on channel in a double collector box opening. The “glass half full” aspect is Anguished etched foils are up to like $12 so you can do a lot worse. Simultaneously it feels absolutely terrible to know your etched foil slot was dead on arrival.

I opened one and a Buddy opened a 3/4 Legion’s Initiative (which is waaaay worse) and WoTC had them send them in and replaced them with 4 random etched foils from the set.

Overall, not bad for DM22. Aminatou was summoned by our previous discussions about her.

They’re genuinely rare because they only came in the collector boxes at 1 per pack and they encompass all the Rares and Mythics. Hitting anything that slot is pretty tough. So many of them have a decent multiplier on them….
