It's good advice but you should learn everything lead right and lead left.

@@johnrajswami5938 that's what I want to master
2:24 the face he makes and breath that he takes in...I FELT THAT IN MY SOUL. Got over 10 years of double bass experience and that shit still happens from time to time.
double-bass drumming in a nutshell. I definitely recommend some leading with the left too though - doesn't have to be double bass, just play 5 minnutes simple rock beats leading with your left foot and then go back to normal right foot lead double-bass - cleans it up a treat!
Every time you see videos with guys using direct drive it just makes you think your chain pedal isn't good enough and that's why you're no good. Seeing George play on his dual chain kick just reinforces the fact that I'm shit and need to practice more - not spend more money!
Not just one of the best metal drummers out there, but also a great educator.
I will never stop watching George Kollias drumming videos.
So weird seeing George play slow and simple beats

Absolutely LOVE this! George Kollias is amazing on double bass. Thanks for sharing this video George and Pearl. Keep Rockin'! 🥁😎DC
Bravo from France, George, at the top like always !
damn those beaters are nearly hitting his foot lol
Great advise from Mr. Kollias I’ve been working on some similar patters leading with my left, just to get it to par with my right foot.
Nice! Clear. Very well put together. Nice camera work. Good instruction.
What a MASTER. AMAZING drummer!
The truth is, he doesn't need axis pedals to play fast double bass .... With any pedal, he can play blazing fast ! 👍👍

No shit 😂
Dat snare is evil🤘🏻
Great advice from a death metal legend
Notice...He kicks in and out of like hand (matched grip) and traditional sticking technique. He plays some serious jazz on Intense Metal Drumming 2. Just a master of the art of drumming,
When he starts playing faster on double bass, he wants to do the swivel
And then do the same with your left foot and reverse and be able to do both.
that power oO
My favorite part of the video is what he says at 4:25 I was just waiting for it

Wait, hold up a second, I know were all here for drums but... are those the Scotty Cranmer signature Vans high tops? Is George a BMX fan?
👍
Great video! I can't help but lose my balance when I get any kind of speed doing doubles. Anybody got any advice for overcoming this? Feels like I'm gunna fall off my stool

Try sitting higher or possibly lower. Also a saddle throne helps. It holds your balls for you and is much more comfortable.
JFC that beater angle.
My that kit sounds nice even on a room mic.

For me I don’t any double pedal.. I will say tho I think have this style doing doubles Is great for starting..vs two bass drums w/ a single pedal for each foot..🤔
whats you spring tension in the vid, medium?
For the power those heels are pretty low, interesting. My left does not follow my right but that’s independence.

Kinda wierd to me..im a right handed..i kick at right foot in single pedal...but when i do double pedal i lead at my left feet..is there anyone like me..or i need to relearn how to play bass drum
Is George learning to play traditional?
I wonder who in drumming took lessons from George? Faster than Mick Harris and Pete Sandaval put together
I think this is why faster double bass throws me off. At a certain tempo, 8th notes sound like 16ths, and 16ths come off as 32nds. Same with the hands when put in the context of a blast beat. Can anyone relate or is this just me?

Set your metronome to 60 bpm 4/4. Count with it like this: 1, 2, 3, 4. That's 4th notes. Then like this: 1-&-2-&-3-4. 8th notes. 1-e-&-a-2-e-&-a-3-e-&-a-4-e-&-a. 16th notes. It depends on the tempo. Take, for example, Double bass 16th notes at 120 bpm. You can count it like 32nd notes at 60, or 8th notes at 240. I hope it helped you, and excuse for my poor English.

For the blastbeat, I highly suggest you to watch Wanja Groger video "How to start play blastbeats".

The way the music is understood when written and heard doesn't have to be how it's understood when performed. Count/group notes in the best way that works with your brain
Can someone send these to Lars, he needs them bad.
