Vertical alignment is a key difference. Advantages with both however when it is done a way for a certain amount of item the material are adapted an sized for it. I think even the bag you get insulation from are different. You have more rectangular, which I think is for tighter transport costs. We are use more to rolls, which can in some case be cut while in the bag rolled up surprisingly accurately with a careful technique.

This is a good video, only one issue I can see. Some bits didn't get sealed properly at the top. This is in building regulations and standards. If you don't you then create a lot of issues. 1) sound penetration 2) fire spread and most important 3) air leak and movement behind the plasterboard which created a massive headache for homeowners as they cannot heat their houses, feel cold and cannot pinpoint the issue as there is constant draught and heat retention is decreased massively. Please seal the perimeter properly.

Nice work, I'd definitely recommend sealing the blockwork first though. I was on site with a rep from gyproc who said 40% of those dabs will fail in the first 6 weeks if you don't. The block is too soft and dusty and when the dabs dry out or movement in the build from settlement etc the dabs will blow.

Some wet PVA or acrylic primer, or even plasterers blue grit although the latter two are quite expensive and probably over kill. It just wants to be able to soak a few mm into the block and then dry to strengthen the powdery loose surface that the block inheritally has.

Nothing wrong with installing GWB (gypsum wall board) directly onto concrete or CMU (concrete masonry units) walls as shown in this video. All the required insulation will be on the outside of the CMU resulting in the dew point being well outside the outer face of the CMU. With this assembly the CMU wall will be the same temperature as the interior living space. Bingo, a dry wall assembly and no mould. Very professional job with pride in workmanship evident. Well done lads
