He's done that a few times - what a legend!
Something really satisfying bout watching a job start to finish. Good neat quick work lads
This guy is on another level. I can hang some sheetrock but this guy is impressive as heck. Got me beat for days
I came to learn but instead of learning I was too busy watching the guy do such an amazing job so I had to watch it all over again
This guy is a genius at his craft. You can tell he has worked hard at bee coming this good. It may not be the way we do things in the US but maybe it’s time!

Vertical alignment is a key difference. Advantages with both however when it is done a way for a certain amount of item the material are adapted an sized for it. I think even the bag you get insulation from are different. You have more rectangular, which I think is for tighter transport costs. We are use more to rolls, which can in some case be cut while in the bag rolled up surprisingly accurately with a careful technique.
Thankyou for this video, not done dry lining since college 15 years ago and needed a catch up, this is how I was taught and this is how I will be doing it tomorrow with no hessitation although mine will be no where near as good as this. Cheers Lad

Hello
Vous méritez le "Prix du meilleur plâtrier" de la soirée pour m'avoir fait toute une pièce en plâtre ce soir. Merci beaucoup.
I watched this because I have recently moved from a traditional plastered house to a dry lined one. Now I understand what is behind the lining and I'm much happier about small DIY jobs. Thanks.

Excellent, continuous dabs at floor, ceiling around sockets and external openings - as required for good air tightness tests later.

Hope the lads are paid well. U can see they graft non stop, are efficient and are always checking for level and plumb. Full envelope of the boards are dabbed (this doesn't always happen). Good tradesmen. All the best to them and the company.

I refurbish bathrooms for a living and I'm quite deft at drylining but i couldn't do it full time because its proper hard work! I also wonder to myself when demolishing bathrooms in old houses the labour that was involved back the day with lathe and plaster! Must have been a right faff.

I get my electrician to coil the wires into the back box screwed on the wall. Hold the board in position, give it a few taps over the back box, you’ll have a perfect mark left on the board to cut out.
@clarkey1977

I do the same technique .but instead of cutting from the back I push a nail or screw through each corner of the marked box pull them out. turn around the board join the holes with a pencil line then cut from the front

I prefer painted concrete etc, but bloody hell, these guys are fantastic. Theres not many I would let loose in my house, but these..yes defo.
This is a good video, only one issue I can see. Some bits didn't get sealed properly at the top. This is in building regulations and standards. If you don't you then create a lot of issues. 1) sound penetration 2) fire spread and most important 3) air leak and movement behind the plasterboard which created a massive headache for homeowners as they cannot heat their houses, feel cold and cannot pinpoint the issue as there is constant draught and heat retention is decreased massively. Please seal the perimeter properly.
@cryptodab3351
2 жыл бұрын
Course it’s sealed you muppet
Nice work, I'd definitely recommend sealing the blockwork first though. I was on site with a rep from gyproc who said 40% of those dabs will fail in the first 6 weeks if you don't. The block is too soft and dusty and when the dabs dry out or movement in the build from settlement etc the dabs will blow.

Some wet PVA or acrylic primer, or even plasterers blue grit although the latter two are quite expensive and probably over kill. It just wants to be able to soak a few mm into the block and then dry to strengthen the powdery loose surface that the block inheritally has.

Nothing wrong with installing GWB (gypsum wall board) directly onto concrete or CMU (concrete masonry units) walls as shown in this video. All the required insulation will be on the outside of the CMU resulting in the dew point being well outside the outer face of the CMU. With this assembly the CMU wall will be the same temperature as the interior living space. Bingo, a dry wall assembly and no mould. Very professional job with pride in workmanship evident. Well done lads
