4:55 I believe that the suit's energy reserves were drained by the UAC testing, which would explain why it was deemed impervious to damage. When they tested the Praetor suit, they tested it while it still had energy, draining it to near empty before the Slayer found it.

That makes sense, the demon who wrote Slayer's Testament VI described the suit as impenetrable and unyielding. If the suit was being constantly drained by demons' attacks yet also being constantly topped up by the Argent plasma and Hell energy being dropped it would seem to be impervious, while just being drained with no Argent around it would definitely buckle slightly.

Would love to see you cover more Doom lore on this channel, and maybe some lore from the Half-Life game series too cause a breakdown of the HEV suit would be interesting to hear.

I love the Preator Suit. It was a pleasure to listen to your breakdown of one of the best suits of armor of all time.

I agree with the pocket dimension weapon holsters on the pocket pouches. The only bit I wouldn't say is fully right is about the power ups. As in 2016 it said that Quad, Haste, invuln, berserk, (and maybe regeneration, and invisibility) are spheres of energy that would perform certain actions to the person or demon that came in contact with it. As I believe it said that Quad Damage was some kind of possesser demon that would identify what weapon your holding and multiply it's damage by four, as a subject decapitated some or one uac gard with nothing but a pocket knife. And how Haste would create an sort of exoskeleton of energy that would force all of your systems to go into Overdrive, but it would be very likely that you're heart would explode from the excessive speed. And so on and so forth.

I know it's not your typical content, but i trust your assessment of lore and power systems where I'd find this interesting: For each powersuit you go over, it would be cool if you give them like a ranking at the end of the video, which as you keep doing more, will accumulate (like a tier list that keeps accumulating with each video). Love the video and you branching out. Keep on the great content!

5:52 It might addressed later on, but I believe this secondary process to be the suit's absorption of Argent plasma, Hell energy etc. via the chest and hand receptors and channeling it through the suit to constantly repair the suit, as well as rejuvenate the wearer; going off of what super-compressed Argent plasma is capable of - that being energising everything nearby it comes into contact with - as described in the first Argent Energy entry, that seems to be what's going on and how it appears to be nearly impervious.

Great video! However in all honesty the reason the Doomslayer can simply walk around the mars facility with no oxygen, is because he is the Doomslayer, the guy is basically a god, he fought for eons in hell. Never stopping to take a break, he doesnt need food, water, oxygen or anything a human would need to survive. In some parts of the game you swim in water filled with radiation and you have to pick radition symbols as to not die from radition.

@@dutch_asocialite Yes really, nothing said was wrong. he spent millions of years as a human fighting the demons of hell before he was put into the Divinity Machine and made into a Demi-God then further spent billions of more years destroying them, anything in game is just for gameplay mechanics. nothing effects him.

@@dutch_asocialite it’s stated in lore that the doom slayer spent eons fighting in hell. The Slayer testaments say so, the game can’t show the slayers true power as it would break the immersion. Doom slayer is more powerful in lore then any game adaptation we will ever have. When the doom slayer got out of the divinity machine, it is stated that he has power and speed to match his will. He also absorbs the power of the enemies he has killed. The praetor suit most likely helps him absorb argent energy quicker and more effective. However when he spent time in hell, he didn’t immediately have the praetor suit, he was fighting hordes of demons every day and killed the titan champion, with his super shotgun, bare hands and was probably his gladiator armour. Doom slayer is as of right now the most powerful being in the doom universe, as far we know there could a being more powerful than the Dark lord ever was.

I would also like to see what his breakdown for Samus's Power Suit would be like. As it can restructure itself, repair, and even integrate both similar and foreign tech into itself.

The funny thing is as cool as the detail of the durability and weight the armor has It doesn’t matter to the Doomguy, since he’s canonically nye invulnerable and has seems to be limitless strength 😅

The doom slayer is given immense strength by the Divinity Machine. The armor mainly draws in vitaility making him continously fight. Before he was a hero he was essentially a walking nuke. The unstoppable force even without the armor

The breakdown was very detailed and thought-provoking Considering the pocket dimensions and teleportation capabilities of the suit and the anomalous setting of the Doom multiverse, we could consider the possibility of para-dimensional force dispersion system in the armour, as no matter how much strong the armour is, the force of an impact is still going to be transferred to the wearer as the stats for the slayers foe are God lvl. high, the suit may negates the transfer of any excessive amount of Kinetic energy or other forms of damage onto the slayer and send it to another dimension or mabe it project a different dimensional space (with different laws of physics ) between the armour plating and the inner skeleton like a energy shield to disperse excessive amount of the energy into the pocket dimension while rest of the energy is handled by the slayer like some lvl of push heat or radiation (note that the suit dose the same thing for spawning ammo into slayers weapon eliminating the need for reload ) and can collect some of that energy explaining some power boost from taking damage This is based on the fact that different forms of argent energy in higher concentration can explode and jump to its corresponding dimension containing similar energy taking nearby matter with it (Olivia Peirce Detonating an AE core at AE Tower at UAC Mars facility ; DOOM 2016) The weapons quick draw system could consist of pocket dimension or it may transfer the weapons from the Slayer's Fortress of DOOM 'weapon wall' (explaining the 10 weapon limit or it just for keeping limited to a manageable number of weapon ) as locked away items in the fortress can't be teleported The suit may also have the ability to convert different flavours of argent energy in to various types of solid or energy based ammunition for the specific type of weapon that the Slayer have in his possession or may be its construct ammo according to slayers approach to a problem may it be platforming or moving through the environment to solve a puzzle or to kill an enemy incentivising Slayer for more creative and efficient approach, treating Slayer like a rat in a maze for the sake of time management ( hell it even be giving slayer dopamine rush for killing demons faster)

would be cool to get a break down of samus aran's power armor, too. not sure there is enough info about it though

I want to say that the reason why the suit probably provides infinite ammo when you get that power up is because the suit has a fabrication system built into it. Would make sense, as it can store a bunch of weapons in it as well, so it's capable of deconstructing and reconstructing matter. Sometimes enemies drop ammo, and it could be material or energy the suit can use to make ammo. The reason why the suit doesn't do it all the time is because it probably requires a large amount of energy or a very specific material type in order to do it.

You reckon it’d be possible to do a proper scientific comparison between doom slayer and master chief, not necessarily a “who would win” but more a “who’s stronger” Edit: or possibly pre-2016 doom slayer where he’s not a god

I personally think that Doomguy's bunny powers the suit and that's why it's so powerful. It's all the rage of John Doom bolstered by the rage of one bunny.

18:52 I would recommend you refer to the Power Up entries from Doom 2016 as opposed to Eternal, they provide much more detail regarding their operation. I find this important as most of them often conclude with the test subjects described in them as perishing from their effects, either due to their hearts exploding (for Haste) or becoming deliriously mad (as is with Berserk) which leads one to conclude that the Praetor Suit _properly_ and safely channels their effects

Nah, Slayer could take it without the after effects. Doom, Doom 2, and Doom 64 are given anti-feats. And while Doomguy did go mad, it was simply because he was ripping and tearing for a very long time that it simply broke his sanity.

Slayer has been taking powerups after powerups before the divinity Machine was even a thing, yet he is still alive and in control with his bodily functions. Unlike the others in the codex entries that dies when they tested it once or twice.

Actually, the reason why Doomguy is able to utilize the hell power-ups without going insane is a result of his strong willpower. Even in Doom 3, the Demons attempted to posses the marine (the infamous toilet window jumpscare from Doom 3) but they failed because that marine was mentally strong even when he was a separate character than Doomguy. The test subjects that you mentioned were just not mentally strong enough to handle the process.

Due to the fact UAC testing said near impervious means that they likely found a way to damage it. It is possible they refrained from further testing due to the one of a kind nature of the suit.

Man I got into Doom and Wolfenstein 3D back in the early 90s on the 3DO. I’ve been a fan since. The first biggest milestone I can remember was when Doom 64 was announced.

I could listen to this man talk about just about anything and he would have my rapt attention

Excellent, detailed armour breakdown. The Doom Slayer is one of those characters that gets exaggerated a lot by fans. He isn’t as powerful as most of his fan base lets on. He isn’t a Superman/ Goku level character. Glad I didn’t see the exaggerated Doom Slayer power level in this video.

Firstly Slayer's power levels can be backed up by In Game Codex, where it is literally said that he accidentally destroyed a multiverse while fighting. Each Multiverse in Doom has infinite Timelines. He literally defeated a titan who can destroy entire universes, and defeated The creator of the Multiverse. So saying Doomslayer's power is exaggerating proves your Zero Knowledge on Doom and Hypocrisy. Actual Canon Lore>>>> Your Stupid headCanon. You can Yap about it all you want, won't change the fact that Doomslayer Oneshots Halo universe with his pinky finger.

What was actually happening was that the constant portals being opened by Hell, Urdak and the Slayer were threatening to destabilise the Multiverse, that Fate was on the Slayer's side or provides an explanation for how Battlemode fits into everything. >defeated The creator of the Multiverse. @@ashfiqedits47if the doom slayer could one shot the Halo universe, why didn’t he one shot Hell? Not to mention he shown to not simply overpower several characters in cutscenes. It’s clearly shown that Slayer had long drawn out fights with the Cyber Demon (2016), Spider Mastermind (2016), the Khan Maykr, The Icon of Sin and Davoth. Furthermore, it’s explicitly shown that the Slayer collects weapons and items in order to aid in defeating powerful foes. E.g. the Slayer needed the Crucible to finish of the Icon of Sin, since he couldn’t just rip the Demon apart.

No, that's a misconception, the Praetor Suit entry doesn't make clear what stress tests were carried out on it. Matter of fact, the only mention of a _two_ megakelvin laser is from the Argent Energy entry under the Database section.

Not well. 40k is made way over the top. Halo is somewhat grounded in reality. A bolter I would equate to the brute shot. A lasgun at absolute bare minimum a carbine. And if you've played halo you know how easily those kill spartans.

@@hf117j It's been said multiple times by Bungie & 343 devs, gameplay is not canon, & the covenant is an entire faction of plasma weapon users, & forerunner tech is insane compared to say the Imperium or even Necrons, their like the C-tan but don't need conversion chambers to get a giant robot army, they have a big ass gun that turns people into a robot army, & Sentinels are nothing to shake your head at considering their deployed in the trillions

@@Josh-lu2ew If you read the Halo First Strike book it talks about how spartan Grace more or less gets blown in half by a brute shot. And I don't remember if it even took multiple hits. In Halo that firepower is 5 or 6 shots. In 40k that's just a bolter.

The only thing I don’t like about the armor is that there are to many people in the universe who seem to use the same exact type of armor. The betrayer and even some demons are obviously wearing the same thing.

Instead you need some low rent doom slayer is God and the antichrist as elected by 12 holy knights because an alien race made it so in honor of the god killer god Omni Satan.... Or, Marine sent to die on mars for protecting the innocent, got surprised by the teleporter taking a shortcut through hell and he had to watch the innocent die again, so until he drops, the blood will flow.
