That’s so sweet that even though Merrill is currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he still got on stage with Donny and sang a little classic tune of theirs! I don’t know why, but that brought me to happy tears. 🥲 Probably because I thought of my own mission in Montana 33 years ago, and how much it meant to me when I was a young woman in my 20s and the opportunity to serve the Lord by laboring every day for long hours to bring souls to Christ! It also brought me to tears because I love the Osmond family so much because I have so much admiration for them and how they always have the integrity to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be an example to all of us, even though they have been in the spotlight for so very many years! They are all so talented, it’s phenomenal! I recently watched an old episode of Donny and Marie, and was amazed at the way they performed so perfectly and with such variety at such a young age!!! When the show was popular in the late 70s, I was only about 10, and though I sensed something special about them and enjoyed the show, I was way too young to appreciate them the way I do now! PS: I had the privilege of being the 1st Grade teacher of one of Tom’s granddaughters in a public school in Sandy, Utah. She was delightful, very intelligent, and very blonde! …but I never got to meet Donny! …I made a great effort to meet him 10 years later, when I purchased Meet and Greet tickets for backstage to his show, and drove all the way to Las Vegas from OC, and would you be shocked as I was when I arrived there to check in, and I was told that he was in bed SICK!! 😮 Poor Donny! The person at the check in told me that of the 15 years in Las Vegas, this was only the fifth time he’d been sick enough to miss the show!!!! Lucky me!!!! 😢 That was the only time I was ever disappointed in Donny!! Oh, well, I still love him! Maybe I’ll see him in heaven! 😅
