#1970s #1970smusic #osmonds
From his days as a child singer with his brothers the Osmonds, to becoming a massive teen idol and his incredible comeback in the 1980s, Donny has been through it all.
Donny is back in the UK this autumn with a national tour, fresh from his hugely popular Las Vegas residency.
In a revealing chat, Donny talks about his amazing career, what it meant to be a teen idol, his friendships with Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley, signing an autograph for Paul McCartney, and much more.
He was even treated to a surprise for a 'special' performance of 'Puppy Love'!
Speaking about being a teen idol in the early 1970s, Donny opened up about how the song and that era wrecked his career for a while, but how he has learned to embrace it now.

Puppy Love song went wild in the 70s. That was the biggest hit for Osmonds and all the young girls was crazy infatuated in love with Donny. They believe Donny was singing to them. Hey wonderful memories now. I was one of the girls that loved watching the Osmonds on tv and got all their hits. Great family! The fans later died down but now picked up just as well. Donny never be ashamed of the songs you sang. They all worked well. In life there is a time for good and bad and we all go through it but yours was exposed because your in the public but I always liked your singing, back to still do! You and your family are wonderful entertainers. Thank you for the fun music, dancing, great memories and still love hearing your songs. God be with you and he has! Everyone is back to loving you❤ Donny don't follow the world but part yourself from the worldly stuff and follow God. You will be fine and you are.

I'm just a few years younger than Donny...growing up in the 70s I loved the Osmonds...had all the albums and 45s. You don't associate the word 'integrity' with many stars these days...Donny, you're a Class act.

can't wait, to view this. I was born, 1960 so, remember, well, all those '70s hits. If I have to pick a fave, not too difficult: "Love Me, For A Reason." Then, voila, he re-emerges, in the '80s, with "Soldier of Love." I bought that single, as soon as it arrived, at my local record store.

I never left you, Donny. In the lien years I still supported you because I never got caught up in the teen idol stuff. I appreciated your talent & music. It saddens me to hear you degrade the "Disco Train" album as the worst album of all-time. That album contains my favorite solo record of yours, "C'mon Marianne". The irony is you earlier shared the story about someone confronting you about degrading "Puppy Love". Well, the same goes for the "Disco Train" album. Your brothers worked hard on that album and even though it is a product for that time, it doesn't diminish how much people enjoyed it then. I still give it a spin to this day occasionally, especially the single mentioned earlier. But I know street cred requires finding something to destroy about your past. So I do understand.
