This was from a Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” It’s the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors from the Bible. It was so successful in the the 80’s and 90’s it was released on video. Donny is so multi-talented. He also performed as a masked peacock on the first season of the “Masked Singer”. His vocals are off the charts,

It is a Broadway Play by Andrew Lloyd Webber. This was the final scene from the play. "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat". The show was so popular that they made a movie of the play in 1999 that went straight to video.

This a from the full production video made for DVD that was produced in 1999 after Donny had finished playing Joseph for six years both in Canada and the United States. To better appreciate this video you have to watch the whole production of "Joseph an the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat". I saw Donny perform in this production in Toronto. It was quite a production! I've also seen this play put on by high school kids at various schools at least three or four times. When we saw there was a DVD made of Donny's show we immediately bought it. It just so happens my family watched the DVD of "Joseph" last evening. We've seen this production dozens of times. Great story. Great production! Great acting. Great signing. Great dancing. You name it. There isn't anything wrong with this whole production!

Love, Love, Love, Andrew Lloyd Weber's compositions. This is Joseph, and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Donny performs this so well. The most poignant song from this is "Close Every Door". Weber's father was an Anglican Music Minister, and he composes his music in an old church chapel on his grounds.

I have the DVD of this show. You can order it online at Target, Walmart, Amazon or just about any online retailer. I bought it after seeing a local production at a dinner theater in Boulder CO. I was given tickets and was kind of bummed it wasn't Chicago or some other show. But I went and loved the show. I found that there was a movie of the play with Donnie Osmond and I had to have it. The DVD has special features explaining how Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice had come to write the show.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ this show!!! They played the full show here on YT during quarantine (The Show Must Go On channel). I literally smile ear to ear every time I see it. My favorite song he does is when he’s in Potiphar’s prison, its called Close Every Door....gives me chills. It’s an Andrew Loyd Webber show that telling school children the story of Joseph in a modern way.

Donny Osmond I believe took the lead role of Joseph when the show went back to Broadway and in the early to mid 90’s , It also became a great success again in London’s West End although I don’t know if Donny did any of those. But when Andrew Lloyd Webber decided to follow these successes with a filmed production he went full scorched earth and brought Donny and the cast to the world famous Pinewood Film Studios where everything to be done on a much bigger scale. This is what you are watching. This IS available on dvd and it’s worth every penny/find lol 😊

That if you’re not aware (at the start) is actor/director Sir Richard Attenborough playing the part of Jacob, Joseph’s father. I believe this is taken from a specially filmed production of the show filmed at Pinewood Studios England where a lot of the Bond movies are filmed, a huge place where for this production they were really able to ramp up the production scale, you can do so much more in a gigantic studio complex than you can on a theatre stage. It’s a brilliant production available on dvd 📀😊

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is the story from the last chapters in Genesis about Joseph and his life from Canaan to his slavery, his interpreting Pharaoh's dream of the coming famine and then his and stewardship as the second only to Pharaoh. It was a great stage production. I enjoyed it a lot, I think you will too. When I finally saw it and got into it was shortly after I went to a presentation by Jim and Penny Caldwell in San Jose on the location of the Real Mt. Sinai in Saudi Arabia. And then really appreciated it after watching Tim Mahoney's Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus. Always new the story, but the relevance sank in more when I say what Tim, and the Caldwell's laid out in his movie and their presentations. Give the whole show a watch, it fun.
