The white gives you the illusion that it’s daytime and the black gives the illusion that it’s nighttime, so I like both.

This may be really silly, but when I watch Donna's videos, I also enjoy seeing what pretty manicure she's got each time.

I can't decide. I like them both equally.

I had to watch this video again. And I learned something! The last panel quilt top I did, I tried to envision looking at the funny farm animals thru a window. But since they were up close to the viewer as it were, I added a couple wide borders with mini farm animals and mini flowers. It really nice. I made the top, someone at my quilt guild did a really nice job on the quilting, then I did the binding. It's all ready to be given to a child.

Donna - because of health issues, l can't actually quilt....but l'm right along with you on every project! Many heartfelt thanks for bringing the joy of creating with fabric to so many folks. God bless.

The black is my favorite. I could watch Donna quilt all day.

I can’t decide...they both add something that draws out the panels charm. Using the black with the prairie scene at dusk/evening was definitely the wise choice, it adds to the subdued feeling. While using the white helps brighten the hummingbird panel giving it a light joyful feeling.

Love both, really hard to decide. You can’t go wrong with a “Donna” tutorial.

Both are fabulous but my favorite is the darker - black - makes those colors pop. Donna thank you sew much for all your tutorials.

I used to live in the same town...yes, the credit card got a lot of use!😂. But now that I don’t live near her, I have a really good backstock of fabric and kits! I also love to watch her videos that show her outside in the beginning so I can see a little bit of my “ home”. Thank you Donna for your videos. Keeps me connected to Grants Pass!

This patten is awesome! I have several old panels that would make perfect charity quilts for small people. We are supporting a group for abused children and I can put what I have to good use. I love the upscale use of the charms! No waste is great!

I love these! I think the white looks good on the panel you selected because the panel is predominantly light colors. The black looks good on the panel you selected because that panel is predominantly darker colors. Keep up the great videos!!

I’ve always been a fan of pointillism, so these were very appealing to me. I think the choice of white or black slashing is purely an individual choice, as both of your projects are beautiful. I also love those patchwork borders. Thanks for another great video, Donna! Love Jordan Fabrics! ❤️

The darker one sets the colors off more. Like looking through a screen door. I saw a painting once of the sea, but with billowing white curtains to frame. It looked like you were just getting ready to step out the door onto the ⛱ beach.

I love both quilts. The one with the white strips has lighter colors in the squares while the one with the black strips has mote darker colors in the squares. Thanks for sharing your talents.

I really do think think that you chose the correct color for the window trim to separate these panels. They are easy to make. Get a sheet, 4 x 8, not plywood, but something about 1/2 inch+ thick. Get the lumberyard to cut it. My friend and I chose to go with 2 pieces at 2 x 5, and 1 @ 3 x 4. Take them home. Cover with a layer of thermal batting and then 2 layers of cotton batting. Secure underneath with a staple gun, layer by layer. Make a cover out of some of that “ ugly” cotton fabric. You are done. Both of the 2 sizes will balance on your ironing board, or go on your cutting table. I use my cutting mat on my ironing surface.

Love this idea. I prefer the white sashing this time.

How do you get your fabrics to match so evenly at the beginning and end of your stitching rows without using a walking foot? Yes, I set my tension on the machine, and am extremely careful not to pullor stretch the fabrics. Any assistance is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
