He lost millions of dollars but what he was most worried about were the donkeys, what a fine man,God Bless him.
This couple are rich beyond words. The wealth is called compassion.
It's not about the catastrophe that knocks you down, but about the wonderful people who help you get back up. So glad they were reunited.
Donkeys are packed with personality, my sis has one on her horse farm and he will cry and cry until you come over and scratch his ears.

@@brianflower5490 They took him in because he had no where to go. Being horse breeders they had no experience with donkeys, but the big lug is part of the family now, my grandkids love him. They've had a couple lean yrs in a row but they have a few colts that could make them $100K so maybe they'll consider getting him a buddy.
Such dignity: losing millions of dollars but still being the richest man around. Much respect.

Coming from Australia, and knowing the trauma of bush fires, I’m so glad these people found their donkey. We lost so much in our fires, but we didn’t ever lose 💕 love.

He owns 70 acres in Sonoma Co. 70. In Sonoma Co. I assure you he has burgeoning wealth. And I’m certain he is heavily insured. He’ll be fine.

@@mikmar6904 you ever been in the middle of a fire like that? He could have lost his own life opening the gates for them. Any idea how long it takes to load livestock? You realize the donkey has a better chance of survival running free, then if it's stuck in a stock hauler? Fire is very unpredictable and to make a comment like that it just seems ignorant and intentionally hurtful, like the guy hasn't been kicked in the nuts hard enough all ready. Have a nice life.

@@forcesightknight My friend lives in California and has 2 rescued donkeys. She is always aware of the fires coming her way, 2 -3 days ahead she takes her donkeys and evacuates. The fire doesn’t come unexpectedly .

@@mikmar6904 You don't always have ample warning. Fire can and does move in unexpected and horrifically fast ways. In any case, someone loses almost all they have and you are blaming & judging? Wow. I can be pretty judgemental and say insensitive, poorly timed things but you get the prize. Yuck.

@@mikmar6904 If your theory is true of knowing about fires well ahead of time why do citizens keep losing their lives trying to escape? In 2018 alone there were 97 civilian deaths and 6 firefighters killed. The wildfire tore through Butte County on Nov 8th, completely destroying the town of Paradise. Your assumptions are wrong!

Absolutely love this! After residing in the countryside for near 26 yrs now, I have had many animals as have the neighbors, my favorite being, Jack the Donkey from next door. Lived to about 30 yrs old, breyed every day and his owner would yell at him for it, so I would go out and yell his name out and he would come visit me, to let him know he was loved... I miss that character.

Neighbor man probably thought his donkey was ‘disturbing the neighbors’.
He sure is a cute little fella. I bet he was scared.

Says a lot how these animals are treated. They donkeys were let loose and thet can go wherever they want go aftee and yet when they saw him, it didn't think twice and run straight to him. Such a good man ❤️

What a blessing I'm from Paradise California I lost everything my goats, my cats, and my house. I can totally understand what you're going through. Luckily my goats were found and were being held with Butte County Animal Shelter type place, and I was able to get my goats back

Oh gees, Michele. I’m so sorry about your losses. Of all the huge wildfires we’ve had in California the past few years, it is the paradise fire that haunts me (I live in San Luis Obispo). Terrible fire. So much death and destruction. I’m so sorry. But you got your goats back and that is one good thing at least. How are you doing now?

@@terredee I'm good I gave my goats to a person who lost part of their herd. I haven't gone back. I can't afford to build. I found an apartment in another small country town an hour away from Paradise. I didn't own where I lived. But it's all good. I have a Lil dog I rescued from the fire. I have the necessary things for life. I'm slowly getting things I still need. It'll work out the way it's supposed to.

when our everything was burning and the fire department couldn't come, every dairy and cattle farmer that owned a water truck and every bulldozer, chainsaw, shovel and able bodied man in the area converged on the fire. and saved hundreds of homes and an entire town. they called us the hillbilly brigade, search that up here on youtube

This man is a solid gold human being! We had a massive fire in S. Oregon only a few months back and I was really traumatized. It’s not an easy thing to experience. I hope everyone is ok there in Sonoma Co. I remember hearing about that particular fire.
Millions gone but what really matters is alive and well. Made me happy!
They are so sweet and precious. Job well done to save them.

Me too, I hope for an update some day. Such a sad thing all the fires in California and other places in the world like the Amazon and Australia.
Animal love is a complete one, you get much more than you give.
Our fires here in Sonoma county spread so quickly, it's absolutely awesome this animal owner took the time to open his gates so his animals could at least attempt to escape the fire. Kudos.
Fire is a terrible destroyer I almost died in a fire, and was saved by a stroke of luck, my heart goes out to all who lost friends, family and property. Thanks to all who helped during and after the disaster. Your friend in Canada.

What an inspiring but sad story. I feel badly about the loss just a bout everything this couple worked for all their life. But they are richer than many, because their heart is pure. Their animals meant more to them at that point. That is awesome.

Thus is what an angel looks like, not concerned about possessions or property, but about the well-being of living creatures. Thank you for this shining example of compassion.
I just love this man's attitude. He cared more for his animals than losing so much on the property. As he said, their lives are way more important than material things. You can always rebuild but you can never get back the love and companionship your family pets give if they are gone.
we really need stories such as this one to remind ourselves, in the darker moments of our lives, that human beings truly do have positive, loving qualities.

When I watch the news coverage of wildfires, I pray to God to protect & save the animals from the flames! Your video is proof God hears prayers. I realize most animals die but there are reports like this of animals who survive.
A miracle. These people and animals have been through a nightmare that wants to burn you with everything you own. So happy you made it!!
