​​@@bighand1530I wouldn't really count the switch port since it's just funky mode added, but it's actually been 9 years since we gotten a new Donkey Kong game. (Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze came out in 2014 meanwhile 4 years later we gotten the switch port.)

Nintendo: How about Donkey Kong Country Returns, Returns...Returns.

This is one of the most creative and imaginative and best level design I have ever played! Every jump is creative and fun, every screen has so much charm and detail in the background and foreground. The soundtrack is top 5 in video games ever! PLEASE do yourself a favor and get this game immediately. Most underrated game ever.

One of my fav platformers of all time. The music and the worlds are so damn fun. Dont let people saying it's too hard discourage you. Its challenging yes, but its not impossible or unfair and most importantly, its a blast to play.

May the Kong be with you. I've got nothing better I'm sorry.

​@@fabiolg6719 Yeah I agree. When it comes to the visuals, sure the originals were a lot grittier(ESPECIALLY Dkc2) but Tropical Freeze is a lot more "epic" and expansive. There is just so much detail in the environment and it's not just a collection of pretty/phenomenal backdrops like in the originals. This time, the "pretty backdrop" actually plays a role in the gameplay and changes the level in front of you. Just take a look at Rodent Ruckus. A ginormous cheese roll not only shows up in the background but crashes in front of you and begins to destroy the entire cavern, while occasionally sending an obstacle your way before finally tumbling out of the cavern, only to be picked up by a set of balloons you've used as platforms in another level called Alpine Incline. It's just so creative, more so than the originals in my opinion and I hope the Dkc fanbase doesn't label it as "a generic platformer lacking charm".

The Gaming Gecko I don’t understand why you guys think all Wii U owners are “jealous” when the Switch gets Wii U ports. I own a Wii U and a Switch, obviously I’m not going to buy the same game with an extra “easy mode” for $70 (Canadian) The game is a solid platformer but definitely isn’t my favourite Wii U game. Either way I can definitively say that if anything I could really care less about Wii U ports. There’s no need to overstate the pride about not buying the Wii U.

What is that noise about? Switch owners who haven't tried the game on Wii U shouldn't be cocky and people who have both consoles or just Wii U shouldn't call buyers of the switch version idiots because of the prise. Let people enjoy things, jeez. I get it, the prise is higher than it should be. I don't like the situation myself but imho it's a nice business strategy. Call Nintendo greedy all you want, they will still get profit thanks to the new auditory. It's just how it is, they want to make as much money as they can after such failure as Wii U

You'll surely love it, i've played it a bit on the Wii U but never finished it. I will get it again on the Nintendo Switch and finish it this time around :-) The only game i ever finished on the SNES was DKC2 (i never knew there was a third one). I played it through virtual console on the Wii U but the game wasn't nearly as good as the first and second one!

And nowadays it's as if Nintendo's abandoned Donkey Kong. -_-

I like that the switch is receiving the highlights of the Wii U so nobody has to worry about keeping that thing around for only a handful of exclusives

Just played through dkc 1-3, looking forward to this!

I seriously recommend all Switch owners to buy this game if you enjoy platformers. I have the Wii U version, and am fine without Funky Kong as dope as he looks! Guys, support this series and support Retro Studios! This is gaming at its finest!

200%ing this game was some of the most fun i have ever had with a game... the level design and soundtrack are just AMAZING! Not to mention, funky is the man! Looking forward to ripping through this again!

Awesome DONKEY KONG game! And "New Funky Mode" looks totally radical! So dope!

Who else played the DKR and then played this on the switch and felt like something was off

My favorite Nintendo franchise since the snes DKC series. This game has easily one of the best soundtracks also.

Can't wait to get this!! But please... Can we PLEASE get another game like Donkey Kong 64?!?! That game was a masterpiece, I need another adventure type DK crew console game. And so people can stop saying the same comment, masterpiece as in my opinion lol, yes I know I'm in a small majority, but still I love that game so much. You can say how you feel I dont mind. But it's simply my opinion.

Wouldn't call it a masterpiece. Have you played it recently? The amount of backtracking and the insane amount of worthless collectibles is just too much, in my opinion. But eh, to each their own.

I got this the past weekend. It’s so much fun. I recommend this to anyone.

I've always wanted this in 1080p and can't wait to play it again!

I can certainly say its worth buying, I played it back on the wii u when i was younger and recently played through it again (full 100%) and had a great time. Just be warned the game can get quite difficult sometimes for a nintendo game, but the nintendo switch version seems easier anyway with funky kong and i am farily certain its new that you can have 3 hearts instead of 2.

Such an underrated game this was one of the best one the Wii U. Glad its getting a new lease on life on the Switch.

The OST of this game it´s simply awesome. It´s incredible a Donkey Kong game has so brilliant music.

This game is so good. Each stage is masterly crafted, atmospheric, distinct and fun. Yes, even Shoal Atoll. This game is so good, I wish I could have a concussion, forget everything, just so I can experience this game again for the first time! This game is so good, it has influenced how I create Mario Maker levels (gmtk made a great video about design) and how I write music. Oh yes! The music, I haven’t even talked about the music. I completed and 200% the game 2 years ago yet I am still knee deep in the music! It handles key changes elegantly, great chord progressions, has SO perfect melodies and is overall beautiful! I could do an analysis on every track and why it’s great. From the reggae esc Busted Bayou to the swiss alps of Windmill Hills. From the ratatouille sound of the accordion in Rodent Ruckus to the pleasing depths of Amiss Abyss’s piano. I can’t believe how David Wise was able to describe a fruity jungle more perfect than he already does! Harvest Hazards, Jammin’ Jams, Seashore War, Frozen Frenzy, I could go on and on and on. This game is so good, I can’t stress that enough. If you don’t own this game for some reason, PLEASE buy it! It is so underrated even though it’s the gold standard and the magnum opus of Nintendo’s 2d platformers! TL;DR Game good

Glad this is coming to the Switch. This game offers such a great experience that many more can now experience it as well.

I may not have played this game but I did see an LP of it and looks really fun. I actually looking forward to this.

I remember having the first one on the wii, wasn’t into it all too much. Picked it up last January on the 3ds and absolutely loved it. I’ll definitely be picking this up, even if it’s just a port

If you haven't bought the Wii U version. This game has one of the best level designs ever in a platformer!

When can we expect the “Lanky Mode” DLC? Willing to pay accordingly.

Well he does kind of have the same frame as DK and Funky, as in I can imagine him carrying a partner on his back, I don't see why not.

This game is super fun. I played it on wii u, and I still play it today.

Missed out on this on Wii U and I really enjoyed Returns on Wii. Definitely a game to look out for.

Joeking Well, maybe you didn't get into it on Wii U and want to give it another shot on Switch, or maybe you just loved Tropical Freeze that much? Or you just love Funky Kong.

I have a Wii U and missed this game but good thing every Wii U game is being ported to Switch

Nah Funky Mode alone makes it worth 100 bucks.

This is the real reason Infinity War moved up a week

I‘ve allready played the game on the Wii u and I am so happy that its coming on the Nintendo Switch. Can‘t wait to play it on the realese day!
