Hi everybody! A lot of mixed feelings were involved, but I finally did it!! Donating hair is not as hard as it seems!
Just a brief background, the 2 long locks donated will be used to make a wig and made available at the National Cancer Centre Singapore's wig bank. It takes 3 people's hair to make one wig! The other two ladies donated their hair during Hair For Hope 2017. Mine is the last matching one before they start processing the wig!
Thank you Hair Donation Program 2017 with the volunteer group led by Sharon for all that you do! You guys are amazing!!

UPDATE
I have had many people reach out to me to ask about where I donated my hair in Singapore. To be honest, I tried to reach out to the group to show me the wig after ti was made. However, there was no transparency in knowing whether the wig was made, when it was done and when it was donated. I do hope the organisation would take a bigger step towards better transparency, and perhaps then it would build up the confidence of donors. No hate, just spread the love everyone!

How much did you actually cut off too?
Don’t worry about the other comments!!! Your hair looked nice and healthy and the donation will be put to good use, especially being that long! It’s true some companies are not as transparent about profits, but Pantene has received pretty good reviews. Many hair donation companies sell hair to buy other wigs or donate to foundations as well. BUT the most important thing is you really are trying to make an impact!! That’s all that matters, and I hope others will be inspired to think about responsible hair donations as well ☺️

Have you kept your hair short since you donated it? I hope so because you looked so gorgeous after you had your long hair cut off.
Looks so awesome and should keep it short a while. You need some Oxford heels and lace up boots for the new you.
You certainly look incredibly beautiful after having your lovely long hair cut off. I wonder just how nervous you were when you saw the scissors.

Umm..... if that's 15 years of your hair growing my hair grows at lighting speed no joke it grows that long within a year I usually cut my hair very short every year and it grows back so fast like it was nothing

@Hopelessly Romantic yeah it grow back longer than before then I cut 5 inches off but you can barely tell because i have such long hair

Do you ever tough to cut your hair to like short bob or even a pixie you have really nice face for that kind of cut,its big change but its good to make one new change=new chapter just need to be positive,im hairdresser by the way :) i would love to help you as much i can really :)

Ask the donation sights what they do with the profit from sold Hair, because 97% of it is sold and as yet they have never admitted where that money goes, you’ve been scammed like millions of others.

StigandStem a lot of hair donated is actually unsuitable for wigs because of damage through shipping, damage from dyeing the hair/split ends, or the length being too short! Anything under 12 inches is very difficult to make a wig out of. Unfortunately there are some corporations that do sell the unusable hair for profit, but there are some that use it to purchase wigs for the applicants waiting for wigs! Or they donate money to research foundations. One of the original companies to start donation wigs is Wigs for Kids and they’re pretty transparent.

Donation is a scam and besides they throw coloured hair away
hair donation for cancer patients is nothing but a scam. If you wish to help cancer patients, you can sell your hair and donate them the money.
why not cut 5cm more ? your hair is still so long . it's a waste of hair

*gasps*😵💇🙅✂🚫 I commend you for your selflessness, but you never know how much they actually give to cancer patients, let alone for "free". Most times they actually sell your donated locks for pocketed money.(>.
